Eternal Thief

Chapter 1647: Fortune like Misfortune

Ace then quickly investigated the Thief’s Space, which had already undergone another, even more overwhelming transformation after annexing the Central Repository.

The moment his consciousness swept across it, even Ace couldn’t help but feel a flicker of astonishment. The entire Thief’s Space had expanded severalfold.

Not only had the Living Thief’s Space grown vastly larger, but even the Non-Living Thief’s Space and the Thief’s House Space had expanded simultaneously, as all three dimensions had evolved together after devouring the independent world.

Ace first focused on the Living Thief’s Space. The once-magnificent, fortress-like city had now become even grander.

Towering mountains surrounded the territory like natural walls while spiritual rivers flowed across the land, carrying dense Heavenly and Abyssal Qi that formed misty streams drifting through the valleys. The sky itself appeared brighter, filled with faint rainbow-colored spiritual currents.

But the biggest change was not the scenery. It was the sheer amount of spiritual life. Throughout the enormous Living Thief’s Space, countless newly added spiritual herb fields were scattered.

Row after row of radiant herbs stretched endlessly across carefully divided sections. Crimson lotuses, silver-leafed vines, black jade mushrooms, soul orchids, heavenly spirit fruits, abyssal root trees, and many herbs Ace had never even seen before were planted in orderly formations.

Each field radiated dense medicinal Qi; some herbs emitted frost, others crackled with lightning, and a few seemed almost alive as they slowly pulsed rhythmically, like breathing creatures.

Yet what truly caught Ace’s attention was that every single herb field was sealed behind transparent barriers. The barriers shimmered faintly with runic formations layered upon them.

Ace instantly understood why, as he helplessly muttered, ”...Cyrus and his little gang.”

If those troublemakers were allowed near these priceless herbs unrestricted, this entire place would probably descend into chaos within a day, especially Cyrus.

Ace could already imagine that little glutton chewing on top-grade spiritual herbs like candy.

As if sensing Ace’s gaze, at this moment, Pixy’s smug voice sounded beside him, ”Hmph, naturally, I’ll protect them. Those little troublemakers are far too dangerous. Especially that little cat. I caught her trying to bite an Abyssal-Grade 7 Spirit Fruit Tree earlier that we just got.”

Ace’s mouth twitched slightly; that truly sounded like something Leah or even Cyrus would do.

Still, he had to admit it: everything was astonishingly organized; every section had clear divisions; every herb field had its own environmental balance; and even the rivers flowing nearby appeared intentionally arranged to nourish specific spiritual plants.

’Pixy is quite careful and meticulous...’ Ace inwardly admitted with genuine surprise. For someone so mischievous and extravagant, Pixy’s management ability was terrifyingly competent.

After observing the Living Thief’s Space for a while longer, Ace finally shifted his focus toward the Non-Living Thief’s Space.

The instant his senses entered it, Ace’s pupils constricted because the current Non-Living Thief’s Space no longer resembled a storage dimension. It resembled a true primordial treasury!

The dark, endless space was now filled with countless gigantic honeycomb sections identical to the Central Repository. Layer upon layer of colossal hexagonal vaults floated endlessly throughout the void-like dimension.

Every single compartment was sealed behind translucent barriers. Inside them were treasures...countless treasures with mountains of spirit metals stacked like miniature continents.

Ancient ores radiating terrifying elemental fluctuations. Harvested spiritual herbs are preserved perfectly within suspended crystal containers. Weapons emitting horrifying killing intent. Armor sets glowing with ancient runes.

There were alchemy cauldrons, spiritual treasures, formation plates, unknown crystals, spatial treasures, ancient jade scrolls, and countless unknown objects Ace couldn’t identify immediately.

The amount was so absurd that even Ace felt momentarily dazed as the entire space looked almost bloated from the sheer quantity of wealth stored within it.

Everywhere he looked was treasure; even the air itself seemed heavy with dense spiritual fluctuations.

Ace’s gaze slowly passed through the endless treasury, narrowed, as admiration rose in his heart. The Central Repository truly deserved its terrifying prominence, and Pixy had somehow already perfectly categorized everything.

Nothing was messy or misplaced, as everything had been arranged with almost frightening precision.

But Ace knew it wasn’t the time to go through each one of these treasures, as the reason he had entered this space wasn’t just to inspect it.

At that moment, Ace suddenly stopped, and his eyes narrowed sharply beneath the hood because he had finally found what he was looking for.

Among the countless treasures, one item was alone placed separately within one of the highest sections of the honeycomb and seemed untouched for countless years, while it gave off a familiar yet profoundly ancient aura of the Primordial Treasure!

’The Abyssal Mirage Dice!’

Ace’s heart raced with anticipation, and without hesitation, he took out the Abyssal Mirage Dice from that isolated compartment, and the next moment, it appeared in his hand.

Ace was astounded when he saw the Abyssal Mirage Dice, which appeared as a pitch-black ninety-nine-sided die roughly the size of a fist. Its surface is smooth like frozen darkness and absorbs surrounding light unnaturally, yet it feels extremely warm in his palm.

On its surface, each number from 1 to 99 was engraved in the Language of Ancient Gods, and it glows with dark-blue ethereal radiance, giving off a mystical, unfathomable sensation.

Ace scanned the Abyssal Mirage Dice with his law sense, but absurdly, it passed right through it as if it couldn’t preserve it, making him express solemnity.

With a flicker of great interest in his eyes, he muttered, ”I just have to throw it to use the Fortune like Misfortune, and then what I’ll get will depend on pure luck, huh?”

After a moment of hesitation, Ace cast the die...

The instant the Abyssal Mirage Dice left his hand, the atmosphere within the sealed space subtly changed as a faint mirage-like distortion spread silently through the surrounding space.

Ace’s surroundings blurred for the briefest moment, as if reality itself had become uncertain. Even the countless barriers sealing this place seemed to ripple unnaturally like reflections on disturbed water.

Ace’s expression instantly turned solemn because this wasn’t a Qi fluctuation nor any kind of law pressure; it was something far more bizarre, as though probability itself had started shifting.

At the same moment, the pitch-black ninety-nine-sided die began to rotate in midair, but it wasn’t a normal rotation.

The dark-blue ancient numbers engraved upon its surface started moving independently across the dice like living fate marks. They slithered and overlapped in impossible patterns, while faint, dark-blue trails lingered behind them.

The Language of Ancient Gods flickered continuously.

1...

77...

32...

91...

14...

50...

68...

The numbers rotated faster and faster until even Ace’s enhanced perception could no longer follow them, and then, abruptly, whispers echoed faintly through the surrounding void.

The voices were ancient, fragmented, and incomprehensible, but they sounded like prayers or perhaps curses. It was as though countless forgotten beings were whispering from the deepest corners of fate itself.

Ace’s eyes narrowed sharply beneath the hood as even his Primordial Spirit Qi became slightly restless.

But he felt that the whispers weren’t directed at him; instead, they felt more like witnesses observing the activation of something forbidden.

At this moment, the Abyssal Mirage Dice suddenly stopped rotating, and the entire space fell silent.

A single glowing number slowly surfaced upon the upward-facing side of the die.

”{53}”

The dark-blue number radiated faintly within the silent void, but nothing explosive happened, or overwhelming power erupted, yet Ace clearly felt that something around him had subtly changed.

It was extremely faint, but it existed like something elusive itself had tilted ever so slightly in his favor.

The next moment, the system interface appeared before him.
