Eternal Thief

Chapter 1612: Hunt for Treasures! (7)

At that moment, Ace took the Iniquitous Crystal and stowed it away within the Thief’s Space since it wasn’t the main focus of his attention right now.

Thereafter, he activated the live fate map to see if he was being monitored or if there were any suspicious moments from the guards outside, and when he saw the map, he was stunned.

The reason for Ace’s reaction wasn’t that he found any suspicious moments or someone spying on Dargoth in secret; instead, it was the slowly fading, glittering golden color from his location. If he hadn’t opened the Live Fate Map right now, he would’ve clearly missed it.

”Moira, what happened?” Ace inquired with a hint of suspicion.

Because this wasn’t the first time he had seen the unique colors of the Live Fate Map reacting this way. He knew whenever this happened, it meant something profound and mysterious related to his fate.

”Sir, I think the fate map reacted to that pathway that just closed. I’m sure that pathway is a channel that leads to a place that is very useful to you. Not only that, but when that pathway was opened, I sense the Transcendent Void Obsidian more clearly until the pathway was closed!” Moira solemnly revealed a shocking discovery.

Ace was astounded, his expression becoming stern and dignified, because he had expected the former scenario but not the latter.

”Are you sure? Because if what you said is correct, then the Central Repository is somehow connected with the Undead Boundary, and if I manage to enter the Central Repository...”

”I’m sure, sir!” Moira replied confidently.

Ace’s eyes glow with a hint of ecstasy because he wasn’t expecting the target he had selected to cause a distraction to be connected to his prime target in some way.

Moreover, he knew this was no speculation or coincidence, for the Live Fate Map had never disappointed him before.

Now that he knew that as long as he could enter the Central Repository, he would not only gain the Corpse Clan wealth but also get closer to his main objective, he was more motivated than ever.

”Pixy, I know you’ve heard everything. I want to ask you if that pathway really has a Master Lock on it?” Ace directly seeks Pixy’s advice instead of the system because the latter might not respond to such an inquiry or ask for Thief Points.

Moreover, since Pixy had proven her ability as a peerless appraiser and she wasn’t restricted like the system, Ace decided to use her knowledge more while keeping the system’s appraisal as a final resort.

”Hehe, you’re finally starting to understand my worth. Well, I can’t blame you since you are slow on using every possible means at your disposal and sometimes overlook the advantages you have over others.” Pixy snickered playfully as she bluntly mocked Ace, which made the latter’s expression darken slightly.

But Pixy didn’t seem to care as she continued, ”Well, since you have picked up quite a difficult task for yourself this time around, and I’m also involved, I don’t mind helping you out. But only this once, as next time, I’m going to charge you Thief Points for every piece of important information!”

Ace was startled before his eyes narrowed dangerously, ”Oh, and dare I ask why you would want Thief Points? What are you really up to?”

Pixy cynically replied with a hint of amusement, ”What do you mean by that? I also have expenses, and since you won’t allow me to use your Thief Points freely, I have to find a way to earn them, no? Don’t worry, I won’t charge you much, and I can guarantee you that whatever you’ll pay me will be half of what you pay ’it’. So, do we have a deal?”

Ace’s eyes twitched as he wasn’t even surprised anymore by Pixy’s knowledge about his dealings with the system. He even suspected that Pixy wanted to ’snatch’ the system’s business from the start and was waiting for this exact moment to act.

Nonetheless, Ace wasn’t easy to trick, and if Pixy can really give him the same kind of information that the system gave him at half price, he doesn’t mind giving her Thief Points.

However, Ace still has this nagging suspicion that Pixy’s obsession with Thief Points wasn’t just limited to decorating the Thief’s Space, and she might be up to something.

But he can’t find anything, and since she couldn’t harm him, he can only give in and wait for his chance to unravel the schemes of the mischievous Primal Spirit!

”Well, system, I think your little business is going to get closed as you have another capable competitor. However, I’ll still give you a chance to salvage this situation, if you promise to be obedient from now on and answer all my questions, I’ll reconsider my options.”

Ace couldn’t miss the chance to get back at the system and tried to hoodwink it, since he still trusts it above everyone else. If he could threaten the system this way, he wanted to try at least.

But to his disappointment, the system ignored him as always, as if it didn’t care whether Ace used its functions, which made Ace slightly angry and resentful.

”Fine, be that way!”

Ace was exasperated and finally spoke with Pixy sternly, ”Alright, you’re on, but if you try to trick me for more Thief Points, our deal will conclude!”

”Hehe, I know you’ll agree and listen to reasons. Alright, I also agree.” Pixy sounded thrilled.

”Since we have a deal, let’s get on to the main business. You asked me whether that pathway has a master lock on it. The answer is yes, and I’ll give more than that.

”You see, this ’Central Repository’ is actually an inner world like the one imbued in your World Space Ring, but unlike your World Space Ring, this inner world is of a higher realm, and it’s also made into a systemic spatial treasure with an independent set of rules!”

Ace was shocked when he heard the truth behind the Central Repository, as he wasn’t expecting it to be made with an inner world of a fallen cultivator, and the cultivator’s inner world was even more powerful than the inner world used to make the World Space Ring in his possession!
