Eternal Thief

Chapter 1618: A Complex Theft (1)

Ace felt his assumption about those honeycombs was accurate, and he now understood this system of the Central Repository well.

Although some honeycombs were already empty, Ace wasn’t disappointed, as despite the Corpse Clan existing in the Undead Cradle for countless years, they weren’t able to exchange even 10% of the items present in that honeycomb.

However, there was also a possibility that with the exchange system in place, the Central Repository could easily replenish those empty honeycombs.

Right at that moment, when Ace looked deeper, past the honeycomb structure, toward its very core, and what he saw made even his calm mind tremble slightly.

At the absolute center of the honeycomb was a massive hexagram formation floated silently.

It was enormous, radiating brilliantly as six glowing lines intersected perfectly, forming an intricate geometric array that pulsed with steady, overwhelming light.

Each line seemed to be made from condensed, luminous energy, layered with countless runes that rotated slowly along its structure. It didn’t flicker or waver, and simply existed like a fixed law of this world.

The entire honeycomb treasury seemed to revolve around it, with the terminals above, storage cells, and barriers, and everything connected to that central hexagram.

Ace’s gaze turned profound beneath his hood as his heart raced because, despite not touching or probing that hexagram, he knew its importance was pretty significant.

It might be either the core of the treasury or a governing mechanism. Perhaps even a fragment of the independent rules Pixy had spoken about or the very heart of this Half-Independent World Realm.

Ace stood silently at the edge of Terminal No.23, invisible and untraceable as his presence was completely erased.

Yet his mind was more alert than ever before because now he finally understood that this wasn’t just a treasury but a perfectly controlled world-vault. A place where every treasure was cataloged, sealed, and governed by absolute rules.

It was also a place no one had ever infiltrated or ever stolen from until now!

A faint, dangerous glimmer surfaced within the darkness beneath Ace’s hood because, standing here at the edge of this impossible structure, he felt something he rarely experienced.

It was excitement and thrill, the kind that only appeared when he faced the impossible thefts, and right now, he was staring at the greatest vault he had ever seen.

Right at that moment, when Ace was about to seek Pixy to get accurate information, Moira’s voice, tingling with a hint of ecstasy, sounded, ”Sir! I can finally sense the accurate direction of the Transcendent Void Obsidian!”

Ace was stunned before his eyes lit up with ecstasy as he almost forgot about the main objective of this thievery, and didn’t activate the Live Fate Map right away despite the early anomaly in it.

”What!? Don’t tell me the Transcendent Void Obsidian is here?” He quickly seeks Moira’s confirmation with great expectation.

After all, if the Transcendent Void obsidian was really inside this place, then this means the core formation of the Undead Boundary should also be here, and he won’t need to search or take more risks anymore.

”Um...sorry to disappoint you, but the Transcendent Void Obsidian isn’t here.” Moira said apologetically before she quickly made things clear, ”However, you don’t need to worry about searching for it randomly anymore because now I can accurately lead you to it!

”Moreover, this place is deeply connected with the location of the Transcendent Void Obsidian, for I can sense that the way towards it is among one of those similar platforms that Sir is currently standing on.”

Ace was slightly disappointed when he heard the first part, but his disappointment quickly vanished, and a hint of realization dawned on him when he heard the last part.

”You mean one of those terminals directly leads to the Transcendent Void Obsidian or is closer to it?” Ace asked solemnly as he glanced through all the sealed terminals.

”Yes!” Moira quickly spoke in conformation.

Ace’s expression turned stern as he thought gravely, ’Why didn’t I think about it like this before? If this terminal can lead me to the true Central Repository, then other terminals will lead me to different places within the Undead Boundary.

’Now it also made more sense why Moira had suddenly detected the Transcendent Void Obsidian when she made an exchange through the terminal. So, it turned out, one of those passages led right where the Transcendent Void Obsidian is located. But the real question is where?’

Although Ace was glad and relieved about finding a way towards his main target, he didn’t dare to be reckless, as he couldn’t predict just what kind of location the terminal would lead him into or what kind of existence he would encounter behind it.

”Alright, I’ll seek you out once I figure out our next course of action!” Ace said to Moira gravely, and the latter no longer raised any opinion.

After all, Ace was here for theft, not to search for a passage, but once he goes through with his actual plan of seizing this Half-Independent World and devouring it into his Thief’s Space, those terminals would most likely cease to exist, and the Corpse Clan would definitely be alarmed.

Suddenly, Ace again fell into a predicament as he wasn’t expecting this thievery to turn out to be so complex that he needed to reconsider his options at every small success.

In the end, Ace decided to seek out Pixy, ”Hey Pixy, tell me something, if I managed to wipe out the independent rules of this world, would those terminals still work without them?”

”Hehe~, well, I was listening just now, and I can guess what you’re thinking, and it’s not wrong either.” Pixy replied calmly, ”Indeed, without those independent rules, the Master Lock will also stop working because both of them have been integrated with each other in a way that if either one of them stops working, the other will automatically cease to function.

”Oh, and before you ask or haven’t thought about it already, I’m going to tell you now that once this world is devoured by the thief’s space, those terminals will be destroyed within a few minutes.

”Which means, you will have to leave the moment you give the command of devouring this place!”
