Eternal Thief

Chapter 1599: Transcendent Void Obsidian

Ace’s interest was piqued when he heard Pixy’s cryptic words, and his assumption about Pixy showing herself at this exact moment also seemed to be correct; she really wants something and is probably using this pretext of ’help yourself’ just for the merriment.

”Alright!” Ace shrugged as he decided to play along, and his tone relaxed a bit as he curiously asked, ”Care to elaborate on how this is going to help me? After all, getting the Transcendent Void Obsidian is already akin to helping myself because as long as Moira grows stronger, it’s nothing but beneficial to me, but you know it better than anyone.”

”Oh, I indeed know about the ’completion scheme’ for the poor Moira, and trust me, I’m very sympathetic towards her.” Pixy sounded genuinely concerned at this moment, ”After all, destroying an Eternal Provenance Treasure to such an extent is nothing but pure evil, but since Moira managed to survive, I’m sure she’ll be even more amazing once she reaches her full potential!”

But Ace was startled as he quickly asked, ”Wait, you even know about the completion scheme?”

”Hehe, don’t forget who I am, as long as it’s a treasure, there’s nothing that can escape my eyes...” Pixy replied matter-of-factly, ”I’m also your Wealth Administrator and Primal/True Spirit, that’s why I can gain access to knowledge of treasures that are bound to you. But don’t worry, I can only see what that ’existence’ behind you allows me to see, and in Moira’s case, apparently I’m allowed to see.”

Ace’s eyes narrowed, but he couldn’t find anything wrong with Pixy’s explanation because she could already manipulate his Thief’s Space and use his Thief Points, and none of this was possible without the system’s consent.

In this case, she should really have access to Moira’s status, and since she didn’t try to hide it, Ace decided not to inquire about it any further, since Pixy can’t betray him or do anything with that information. Lastly, as long as the system was there, he didn’t need to worry about these matters.

Moira also fell silent at that moment and made no comment because it involved the system, which she didn’t dare disrespect. Ace managed to gain control over Moira all because of the system, and, as her firsthand experience, she knows how terrifying that ’power’ behind Ace is!

”Alright, enough with your theatrics, get to the point already.” Ace decided to move to the main point because he wasn’t exactly in a cozy place for idle chatter.

”Alright, alright...” Pixy acted as if disheartened, ”Tell me, do you know what Transcendent Void Obsidian is? I mean, I know you guys got the name and could detect it, but do you know what exactly it was used for or how it forms?”

”I know!” Moira stated confidently with a hint of provocation.

Ace also nodded in agreement, ”Don’t underestimate Moira, she always has knowledge about the materials related to her completion scheme. So, there’s no need for you to be all smug or act arrogantly by playing riddles.”

”Hehehe...” Pixy giggled with a hint of derision, ”Oh, no offense, but she probably only has general knowledge about the object. Anyway, I’m not here to step on anyone’s toes.”

Before Moira could expressed her dissatisfaction over Pixy’s blunt belittling, the latter continued without giving anyone chance...

”The Transcendent Void Obsidian is not formed under the Heavens and Abysses, but it was formed in the depths of chaotic space, in places where space collapsed and then failed to fully mend, forming rare regions where overlapping laws collided, and fragments of broken dimensions drifted like scars in reality.”

”And in these rare regions, there existed pockets of silent nothingness. Within those pockets, over hundreds of thousands of years, as Void turbulence stabilized and was compressed by converging spatial pressure, a pitch-black crystalline substance would slowly condense.

”That substance is Transcendent Void Obsidian. The Transcendent Void Obsidian has no shine, nor does it reflect light. Even cultivators’ special senses struggled to cling to its surface.

”However, its true value did not lie in hardness or destructive power, but in what it rejected as the Transcendent Void Obsidian possessed a rare property known as Law Dissociation.

”It did not nullify laws outright. Rather, it weakened their anchoring effect. Threads of fate, karmic markings, and divination traces struggled to latch onto it.

”Predictions that brushed against its surface would distort, branch incorrectly, or terminate abruptly. Fate Law could still influence what lay within, but its clarity dulled, its certainty fractured since it’s still only a Forbidden Transcend Grade natural treasure.”

Ace was fascinated at this moment because he wasn’t expecting the Transcendent Void Obsidian to have such powerful properties to even affect divinations and laws to such a degree.

Furthermore, Pixy seemed to know where to find it, which astounded him, and Ace secretly decided at that moment he would ask Pixy about natural material locations next time instead of blindly searching for them.

But he didn’t stop her; he let her continue, since she clearly wasn’t done...

”But when refined properly with other unique materials and embedded into ’certain’ large-scale formations, Transcendent Void Obsidian can create unique sealed spatial layers that existed slightly off alignment with the primary flow of causality.”

Suddenly Pixy’s voice turned playful as she seemed to emphasizing on this point as she said, ”Such spaces are not invisible in the ordinary sense. They still occupied coordinates. They still interacted with physical reality.

”However, from the perspective of Karmic Laws, they became blurred anomalies, like ink smudges in an otherwise clean script. This effect provided partial protection against fate-based tracking, prophecy techniques, and high-tier divination arts.

”Anything hidden within such a formation could not be easily locked onto through karmic threads alone. Attempts to calculate their position would yield contradictory outcomes, phantom reflections, or endless loops.

”Only those with extremely profound mastery over Fate Law could pierce through it with consistency, and even then, not without effort. Because of this, Transcendent Void Obsidian is coveted by forces that prefer to remain unseen.

”Oh, and if you add another certain material, you can create a peculiar formation that can only allow with certain ’Karmic Racial Traits’ to enter, while others would never be able to break it unless they have the power to break it. Did it ring any bells?” Pixy cynically implied.

Ace’s eyes suddenly widen because Pixy has already made it obvious enough as he blurted, ”The Undead Boundary?!”
