Chapter 2752: Chapter 2752: Asking for CCTV Footage

“So after arriving at the remote location, the two of you entered the hostile property, engaged those armed men, and successfully rescued Dr Tang Qin Hao on your own?” The detective’s pen flew across his notebook, capturing every detail.

“Yes. You could say we were incredibly fortunate. We caught the guards completely off guard before they had any time to react to an intrusion, so we managed to quickly knock them unconscious, secure the perimeter, and rescue Dr Tang from the basement.” Yu Qi nodded again, a faint, humble smile playing on her lips.

“Your hand-to-hand combat skills and tactical awareness must be quite extraordinary to take down an armed squad.” The police detective looked at both Yu Qi and the silent, powerful Long Hui with a sudden surge of profound respect.

“You could simply say we have both received extensive, professional security training in our line of work.” Long Hui answered calmly, his deep voice effortlessly shutting down further prying into their backgrounds.

The detective nodded understandingly, completely satisfied. He had no further questions. Everything the two of them had described matched Tang Qin Hao’s timeline and description of his rescuers almost perfectly.

“Thank you very much for your outstanding cooperation and bravery.” The lead officer said as he stood up, offering a respectful nod. “If our department needs any additional information or a formal deposition, we will contact both of you again through the hotel management.”

“Hmm.” Yu Qi nodded gracefully. “Have a safe investigation. I am hoping you will find the culprit.”

After leaving the secure confines of the Presidential Suite, the detectives turned to the hotel manager, their professional instincts kicking back in.

“We need to verify the timeline. Take us to review the hotel’s main CCTV recordings from yesterday afternoon immediately.” One of the detectives turned to the hotel manager, their professional instincts kicking back in.

The manager complied without delay, escorting the officers down to the high-security monitoring room in the basement. He quickly instructed the lead technician on duty to retrieve the archive surveillance footage from the precise window of the previous afternoon.

However, to everyone’s absolute shock and confusion, the relevant security footage for that exact timeframe was completely, utterly blank.

The technician frowned deeply, cold sweat forming on his brow as he immediately began checking the system’s core logs for signs of a cyberattack. A few frantic moments later, his expression changed into one of sheer bewilderment.

“That’s impossible… That’s incredibly strange…” The technician muttered, clicking rapidly through the code.

“What exactly happened to the footage?” The police detective demanded, leaning over his shoulder.

The technician quickly pulled up the automated diagnostic report, pointing at the error lines.

“According to the system architecture, it appears that all of the high-definition CCTV cameras covering the basement elevator bay and the eastern wing simultaneously suffered a total hardware malfunction for a specific period of time yesterday afternoon…” The technician frowned even deeper, staring at the flawless loop. “…before instantly returning to normal, perfect operation as if absolutely nothing had ever happened to the network.”

The entire security monitoring room fell into a heavy, suffocating silence. The technician replayed the specific recording several more times, desperately hoping that the missing footage was merely a temporary loading error or a glitch in the playback system. Unfortunately, no matter how many times he hit refresh, the result remained exactly the same, a frustrating expanse of dead air.

“Someone clearly tampered with our security system, intentionally forcing the cameras to go offline. During that exact blind spot, they managed to sneak inside the venue and kidnap Dr Tang. The strange part is that the cameras only started working properly again at 2 a.m. this morning.” The lead police detective deduced, outlining the timeline of the narrative.

Looking at the digital logs, everyone else in the room silently agreed with his assessment.

The hotel manager suddenly felt a wave of cold sweat forming on his forehead, the reality of a security breach under his watch sinking in.

“Our hotel’s security infrastructure has always been exceptionally reliable. In all my years here, we have never experienced an internal failure or an intrusion, something like this before.” The manager stated defensively, his voice trembling slightly.

“Yes, our hotel’s security network has always been incredibly reliable. We have truly never experienced a targeted system blackout like this before.” The lead technician quickly added, trying to shield his department from immediate blame.

“Then why on earth were you not paying close attention to the live monitor feeds? Why didn’t anyone report the camera feed problem the moment it happened yesterday afternoon?” The manager scolded the team of technicians, his tone sharp with growing panic.

The technicians collectively looked down at the ground, unable to meet his eyes. The truth was, they honestly did not find anything weird or out of the ordinary yesterday. From their workstation perspective, the camera feeds seemed to be working completely fine without showing any error screens.

“Our closed-circuit CCTV network is entirely isolated from the public internet, meaning any outside interference should be completely blocked. Hacking directly into a closed loop like ours is not technically impossible…” The technician hesitated for a long moment, swallowing hard before finally finishing his sentence. “…but whoever pulled this off knew exactly what they were doing and likely had deep insider knowledge of our server layout.”

The leading police officer turned his sharp gaze toward the sweating hotel manager.

“In that case, we will need the complete server access log handed over to us. Immediately!” The police detective demanded, leaving no room for negotiation.

“Yes, Officer. Of course. I will personally prepare them for your team right away.” The manager nodded fervently.
