Reborn : Space Intelligent Woman

Chapter 2764: Chapter 2764: Put On The Masks

Long Hui raised his hand and struck the back of the man’s neck with a precise, crushing force, instantly short-circuiting his nervous system and knocking him completely unconscious before his brain could even process that someone was standing directly behind him.

Richard Lee never even had the luxury of a split second to turn around or see the faces of the apex predators who had hunted him down.

As his limp body began to fall toward the floor, Yu Qi stepped forward, her eyes flashing.

“Aoi, activate Invisible Mode on him now.” Yu Qi ordered.

In the very next instant, Richard Lee’s physical form completely vanished from the space as though he had been dissolved into thin air, leaving the empty restroom perfectly silent.

Long Hui did not bother lifting the dead weight of Richard Lee onto his shoulder. Instead, he simply grabbed the man callously by the leg and dragged him casually across the concrete floor as though he were hauling a sack of worthless potatoes. There were several vast, abandoned warehouses nearby on the shipping docks, so they did not need to transport their target very far to find absolute privacy.

Yu Qi briefly entered her space, Sere, intending to retrieve a specific set of disguises. When she materialised back into the dim warehouse a moment later, she handed an item directly to Long Hui. Long Hui looked down at the object in his hand with obvious, deadpan confusion.

“What exactly is this?” Long Hui asked, holding it up.

“Your mask. We are going to wear these when we officially interrogate Richard Lee.” Yu Qi explained, playfully waving the pristine white rabbit mask she held in her own hand.

“But why on earth is mine a stylised black leopard mask?” Long Hui asked, inspecting the fierce, dark features.

“It suits your personality perfectly.” Yu Qi replied with a small grin, before adding, “Weirdly so.”

“And yet you are wearing a harmless rabbit mask.” Long Hui pointed out, amusement twitching at the corner of his lips.

Yu Qi slipped the white rabbit mask over her face before striking an adorably cute, theatrical pose toward her fiancé.

“Look closely. Am I cute, Brother Hui?” Yu Qi asked in a deliberately sweet, innocent voice.

Long Hui knew he absolutely needed to play along with his beloved Qi Qi’s rare playful mood. Without a word, he immediately put on the black leopard mask, his dangerous aura instantly shifting behind the dark visage.

“Hmm… Exceptionally cute. So cute that it honestly makes me want to eat you alive right here.” Long Hui said, his deep baritone dripping with affection.

“You… behave yourself. We are actively working right now.” Yu Qi said helplessly, her face warming up behind the mask.

“Hmm…” Long Hui chuckled softly, the vibration low in his chest.

Yu Qi coughed lightly to clear her throat, snapping back into her cold, professional demeanour.

“Well… let’s wake our guest of honour up now.” Yu Qi said.

Long Hui walked over to the slumped figure of Richard Lee and precisely tapped one of his core acupuncture points, sending a jolt of energy through his blocked meridians. Richard Lee let out a sharp groan of pain as consciousness rapidly rushed back into his brain.

Long Hui walked over to the slumped figure of Richard Lee and precisely tapped one of his core acupuncture points, sending a jolt of energy through his blocked meridians. Richard Lee let out a sharp groan of pain as consciousness rapidly rushed back into his brain.

The moment he forced his heavy eyelids open, the first sight he saw was two imposing figures wearing animal masks standing directly in front of him in the shadows. He realised almost immediately that he was sitting perfectly upright on a wooden chair, arranged in a relaxed posture.

He instinctively tried to violently move his arms to break free. Absolutely nothing happened. He could not flex a single muscle in his torso or extremities. Only his head and his mouth responded to his brain’s commands. He was not tied up with ropes or chains at all. Obviously, these mysterious intruders had injected or drugged him with a highly advanced paralysing compound.

He immediately remembered the intelligence reports regarding Uncle Liam and the extraction squad who had been taken into custody earlier that day. They had also been rendered entirely unable to move their bodies. However, there was one glaring, terrifying difference.

Richard Lee could still think with absolute, crystal-clear clarity, whereas Uncle Liam and the bodyguards had completely lost their cognitive senses. Because of that distinction, Richard Lee could not immediately determine whether the people standing before him were the exact same vigilantes responsible for the safe house massacre.

“Who are you, and what exactly do you want from me?” Richard Lee finally demanded after forcing himself to calm down.

Panicking would not help his situation in the slightest. He needed to stay calm, bide his time, and assess his captors carefully.

“Hello there. I am the Cute White Rabbit.” Yu Qi cheerfully announced, pointing a finger at her own mask before gesturing toward the tall man beside her. “And this is my partner, the Bad Black Leopard.”

Richard Lee silently took a deep breath, clamping down on his rising fury as he tried his absolute best to remain composed.

“What do you want from me?” Richard Lee asked again, his corporate authority bleeding through his voice.

“Well… We want to know the exact identity of your primary contact person inside the MicroTech Organisation.” Yu Qi answered bluntly, completely skipping the pleasantries.

Richard Lee was visibly taken aback. These masked intruders had absolutely zero intention of hiding their true objective or playing mind games.
