Chapter 2260: Doing For Our Sake

This post and the comments from Liu Qiaolian and Miao Meimei made the fight between the fandom seem stupid. The people they defended were harmonious. However, there were some people who did not believe in this. They thought the actress were doing some PR to blow the bad news away.

Miao Meimei was the one who discovered what people had been talking about online. She did not understand these people. Why did they want to accuse her of doing something ridiculous like that? She did not like the female lead in the drama. She did not like a weak and soft-hearted character like that.

It was not like she had no experience portraying the character. She indeed had a similar character to that. And she did not like it. She swore that she would never take if the character was like that.

She opened the social media and posted a statement. ʼPlease donʼt donʼt spout nonsense. I am happy with my current work. I donʼt have to scheme like that.”

Of course, the moment the post was published to the public, there were many reactions. Some believed in Miao Meimei and some were sceptical about this.

Miao Meimei told Song Su Jin and Liu Qiaolian about what happened online. They were surprised. When they looked at the news, they could not help to shake their heads.

”Why do they always think that we have to be enemies just for a role?” Liu Qiaolian sighed.

”Arenʼt we enemies?” Miao Meimei asked.

”If you are my enemy, I will not sit down and eat with you.” Liu Qiaolian said.

”The director is probably working on the PR. We just need to stand up when the time needs.” Song Su Jin said.

...

Yu Qi had already changed her clothes. It was a coincidence that she and Long Hui happened to be at the same lake as Song Su Jin. She was having a date with Long Hui. She turned to Long Hui, who was having a bad mood right now.

”How long are you going to be in a bad mood?” Yu Qi poked Long Huiʼs cheek.

”You told me that you will prioritise our date.” Long Hui gave Yu Qi a side glance.

”Brother Hui, I am doing this for our sake.” Yu Qi stated.

Long Hui raised his eyebrow, waiting for Yu Qi to spin the tale.

”Who is Sister Su Jin? She is Brother Yu Hiʼs fiancée. Then, who is Brother Yu Hi? My right-hand man. If something happens to Sister Su Jin, Brother Yu Hi will be sad. He might neglect his work. Who will be affected by that? My company and I. I will need to step up and do everything. Then, I will not have time to be with you. Do you understand?” Yu Qi explained the matter like a teacher explained to a child.

Long Hui was speechless. He raised his hands and grabbed both of Yu Qiʼs cheeks.

”Ah... Brother Hui... What are you doing?” Yu Qi grabbed Long Huiʼs hands.

”This mouth is very smart.” Long Hui said.

”Brother Hui, let me go.” Yu Qi begged. She narrowed her eyes. ”If you donʼt, I will do the same to you.”

She raised her hands and grabbed Long Huiʼs cheek as well. Both of them were doing the same thing until they heard peals of laughter. They finally realised that they were in a public place. Yu Qi moved her hands away. Long Hui also did the same.

Long Hui looked down at Yu Qiʼs face. ”I am sorry.”

”Sorry?” Yu Qi did not understand why Long Hui suddenly apologised.

”Your face was red because of me. I grabbed your cheeks tightly.” Long Hui rubbed Yu Qiʼs cheeks gently.

ʼI donʼt think that. I am just embarrassed. Because we acted like children in public.ʼ Yu Qiʼs face became redder.

”Your face becomes redder. Letʼs go to the doctor.” Long Hui stated.

Yu Qi grabbed Long Huʼs hand. ”No need. I am a doctor. I know it is nothing.”

”Really?” Long Hui asked.

”Yes.” Yu Qi nodded. ”Are you feeling better?”

”Hmm...” Long Hui nodded.

”Shall we continue our date?” Yu Qi smiled.

”Yes.” Long Hui gave up having a bad mood.

....

The director called the actors and actresses again to shoot the promotional picture. This time, they chose a different location. Before they started shooting, they investigated the place thoroughly to prevent the same accident happened.

The crew saw Liu Qiaolian, Miao Meimei, and Song Su Jin sit together. They could hear them talking.

”These shoes are hurting me.” Miao Meimei complained.

”Then, you should take it off.” Liu Qiaolian replied.

”I still need to wear these kinds of shoes later. I will have someone replicate the same thing with better quality.” Miao Meimei said.

”You sure like to show off in front of me.” Liu Qiaolian rolled her eyes.

”Yes. I like it.” Miao Meimei said.

The crews were waiting for the fight to break out. But they waited for nothing.

Song Su Jin sighed. ”Why are you acting like this again? Are you really eager to fight?”

Both girls went silent. They were indeed like old friends.

”By the way, Qiaolian, Meimei, would you like to be my bridesmaids?” Song Su Jin asked casually.

”Is that okay? Donʼt you have others that are close to you to be your bridesmaids?” Miao Meimei asked.

The question was quite reasonable because they were not that close.
