Chapter 2008: Promote Feng Ma Ri To Xia Zi Qie

The next day, as promised Xia Zi Qie came to Feng Cho Kangʼs house. Feng Yue once told him that she hated staying at this house because of two women who had been nitpicking on her since she was young. Because of the constant harassment, Feng Yue moved out to stay at her grandfatherʼs house. The person who welcomed Xia Zi Qie was Feng Ma Ri. She was smiling as she greeted Xia Zi Qie. ”Brother Xia, welcome to my house.” Feng Ma Ri said. ”My parent is waiting for you.” Xia Zi Qie did not respond to Feng Ma Ri and walked inside. He could see the middle-aged man and woman. ”You must be Xia Zi Qie.” Fuang Cian Xie put a smile on her lips while looking at Xia Zi Qie.

”Yes.” Xia Zi Qie nodded.

”I am Feng Yueʼs mother and this is her father.” Fuang Cian Xia stated.

”From what I know her mother already passed away. You are her stepmother.” Xia Zi Qie replied.

Fuang Cian Xieʼs facial expression changed. She did not expect Xia Zi Qie to retort her like that. ”Mr Xia, my current wife has been taking care of Feng Yue since she was young. So, there is no doubt that she is Feng Yueʼs mother.” Feng Cho Kang was a little displeased when he heard his wife had been insulated like this by this young man. ”Oh... Yes... Of course... I am sorry.” Xia Zi Qie apologized.

”Mr Xia, my sister must say something bad about my mother. But everything she said is not true. Please donʼt believe it.” Feng Ma Ri stated.

”Hmm... Letʼs have lunch. We can talk while eating.” Feng Cho Kang suggested.

They went to the dining room. The maid immediately brought out the food and served them. ”Mr Xia, please taste this dish. Ma Ri worked hard to cook this dish.” Fuang Cian Xie helped Feng Ma Riʼs image.

”Yes... I hope Mr Xia likes it.” Feng Ma Ri played along with her mother.

Of course, it was not her who cooked the dishes. Why did she need to cook while having a chef at the house? She would not be heartless to rob someoneʼs else work. Xia Zi Qie also played along, eating the dish that Fuang Cian Xie offered him to eat. If it was not for Feng Cho Kang to tell him that he had something to talk about Feng Yue, he might not step into this house. He could see the happy family in front of him. He could imagine how Feng Yue felt watching this scene. He knew it because he also experienced the same thing when he was a little boy. His parent just cared about his older brother and did not pay any attention to him. ”So, what do you want to talk about to me?” Xia Zi Qie could not stand being here so, he went straight to the point. ”Oh... Yes... Have Feng Yue said something about her sister to you?” Feng Cho Kang asked.

”Huh?” Xia Zi Qie was confused.

”You misunderstand Ma Ri. She is a sweet little girl who did not dare to hurt anyone.” Feng Cho Kang said. Xia Zi Qie was really confused right now. He did not understand what this man said to her right now. What is it? He thought while looking at Feng Cho Kang who continued to rumble about Feng Ma Ri.

”Ma Ri is a very polite girl. She did not even talk badly about Feng Yue even though Feng Yue often talks badly about her. She just listened to the unpleasant bad that had been thrown at her.” Feng Cho Kang continued.

”Mr Feng, what are you talking about?” Xia Zi Qie asked.

”My sweet girl came back crying another day. When I ask her about that, I find out that you are the one who made her cry. We figured that you misunderstood Ma Ri because of what Feng Yue had said about Ma Ri.” Fuang Cian Xie stated.

Xia Zi Qie finally understood what was going on right now. He glanced at Feng Ma Ri who just looked at her food. ”Yes, Mr Xia. It is not my intention to say this to you but my daughter, Feng Yue often lied to others to make Ma Ri look bad in front of others. To be honest, Feng Yue is not a suitable choice for you to get married, Mr Xia. On another hand, this daughter of mine, Ma Ri is an obedient girl who always listens to her parent and does not talk back to her parent.” Feng Cho Kang talked down about Feng Yue while praising Feng Ma Ri so highly. ”Yes, Mr Xia. If you married Feng Yue, you might invite trouble to your family because Feng Yue would probably make your parent displeased. However, things will be different with Feng Ma Ri. She is a very thoughtful person. She treated people with respect. Your parent would love having such an obedient daughter-in-law.” Fuang Cian Xie promoted Feng Ma Ri to Xia Zi Qie. Fuang Cian Xie wanted to marry Feng Ma Ri to Xia Zi Qie. She already investigated Xia Zi Qie. Apparently, his family background was not so bad. Even though he would not inherit his family business, he already had his own business. With this, his family did not have anything to Xia Zi Qieʼs business. If he died first, everything under Xia Zi Qieʼs name would fall on her daughterʼs hand.
