Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Upgrade-2

”Hm... let me see. I guess it would... Seraphina!” Ivy announced, causing Seraphina’s heart to bloom with delight.

She watched in anticipation as Ivy walked out and soon returned with a small plate having two pieces of cooked fish meat.

If it was before, Seraphina might only have disdain, but now? It was like heaven. Just as Ivy reached near her, Seraphina felt a kick on her calf.

Turning around, she saw Isla, who was desperately motioning for Seraphina to share the food with her.

A look of hesitation passed Seraphina’s eyes.

”You want to give up your food to your daughter?” Ivy asked gently, ”I can do that for you, but you won’t have any food for the next 3 days.”

Seraphina’s eyes widened in disbelief, and all the motherly thoughts in her mind vanished like thin air.

’3 days! I can’t stay hungry for another 3 days! I would die from hunger. From Ivy’s words, it looks like she is planning to hand one of us food every day. Even if that is not the case, I can’t give up this chance. My daughter can wait.’

With that thought, she shook her head, causing Isla to widen her eyes.

To spice things up, Ivy took out the rag from Isla’s mouth and heard her say,

”Mother! Please give me the food! I am hungry! Please!”

At the same time, she was a bit grateful that Ivy removed the gag and let her speak.

[Ding! You earned 1KB.]

Ivy smirked. She knew this was just the beginning. In the future, they would let her harvest many KBs while she tortured them.

They used her in her past life, and now it was her turn. Without hesitation, she took off Seraphian’s rag and Magnus’s rag too.

”Isla, did you not hear? I will not have any food for the next 3 days! Let me have it. Next time I will sacrifice for you!” Seraphina shouted.

Magnus, on the other hand, started to beg Ivy, ”Please let me eat! I am starving!”

Isla continued to argue with Seraphina, ”You are my mother! You should sacrifice for me!”

”I am your mother, not some god that should give you everything! And if you remember that I am your mother, at least be filial to me!” Seraphina shouted.

Suddenly turned toward Ivy and shouted, ”Please! Please feed me! Ignore her.”

Ivy fulfilled her wish and fed the two pieces of fish meat to Seraphina.

”No!” Isla bellowed, her expression transformed into one of despair, and rage surged in her heart. She can understand Ivy’s betrayal... that b*tch wasn’t related to her by blood, but why did Seraphian betray her?

[Ding! You have earned 15 KB!]

Ivy smirked, halfway way the performance, and her goal was almost within reach. She checked the balance and was delighted.

983.7 KB!

Just 17 KB more!

Her attention then turned toward Isla, and seeing her crying, she put on a pitiful face, ”Isla... don’t cry. How about this? I will get you a piece, okay?”

Her gentle words stunned Isla, who stared at Ivy in surprise.

’My own mother didn’t even bother about my crying... but this b*tch... she was affected?’

For a moment, her heart was filled with complex emotions. She even thought that Ivy was mocking her. But when she saw Ivy leaving the room and getting back with a piece of cooked fish meat, her eyes watered, and gratitude appeared in her eyes.

Even though Ivy was her tormentor, at least she was gentle enough to feel pity for her.

Ivy fed the fish meat to Isla with a smile on her face and soon heard a ’ding’ in her mind.

[Ding! You have earned 20 KB!]

Suppressing the mild surprise rising in her heart, Ivy grinned. Oh! She has finally met her goal.

She watched as Isla ate the meat with delight, then her attention turned toward Magnus, who was constantly begging her.

”Oh right... Magnus, I can let you have the food if your wife and daughter agree to give up their tomorrow’s food.” Ivy put forth the condition, and Magnus expectantly turned toward Isla and Seraphina.

But all he got was a lowered head and silence. His heart sank, and he bellowed, ”I sacrificed so much for you guys! Can’t scarifcie just a bit for me?”

Seraphina and Isla remained silent. Ivy clapped her hands and said, ”If you both stay silent, I will take that as a yes.”

”No!”

Both Seraphina and Isla said simultaneously. They couldn’t bear to part with food.

Magnus’s eyes widened in disbelief while his heart sank. He never thought that the family for whom he had sacrificed so much would behave like this in times of need.

”Alright. Since the decision is made, I will not push further.” Ivy stated and tied Seraphina and Isla and stored them.

Looking at the devastated Magnus, Ivy hid her smirk and said in a passionate voice, ”Magnus... since you were once my father... I will let you have a piece too.”

Her words surprised Magnus, and he watched in anticipation as she returned with a plate of cooked fish meat.

’I didn’t even treat Ivy better, and yet she showed compassion to me. If only... I hadn’t been treated badly before... I wouldn’t be suffering now...’ He thought regretfully as he chewed the fish meat, which was so delicious that he almost bit his tongue.

[Ding! You have earned 20 KB.]

Bingo! Ivy thought with a smirk as she stored Magnus and checked the balance. 1023.7 KB.

”I would like to upgrade,” Ivy stated, her eyes flashing with anticipation.

[Upgrade cost: 1000 KB and 10 space crystals. Would you like to upgrade?]

”Yes,” Ivy answered. She had accumulated 1000 space crystals before, and now 10 space crystals didn’t seem like a lot to her.

[Processing... Error! The space crystals grade is low. Would you like to compensate with numbers?]

”What?” Ivy was stunned. She never expected that at that moment such a problem would occur. Well...technically, crystals were indeed obtained from level-1 zombies, so... it was indeed low-tier.
