Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Next Lifetime

He was now using it for her. Maybe she will survive, but he will die.

’Please! Please, Silas, don’t! I beg you! Don’t do it! I will live my life to regret!’ Ivy silently begged in her heart, her body was paralysed, while tears continued to stream down her face.

Silas continued to inject the healing energy into Ivy’s body, and soon, Ivy’s wound stopped bleeding.

By that time, Silas’s face had turned into deathly pale color, and his eyes held a bit of reluctance.

”Ivy... I wish that in your next lifetime, you will love me with your whole heart. And even if you don’t love me, just stay near me, alright? I love you, darling, please don’t blame yourself. Otherwise, my heart will ache even in the underworld. Let’s meet in the next lifetime and make beautiful memories together. I will ensure we don’t have a bitter ending like this.”

And then... silence.

For a long time, Ivy couldn’t even move, and when she could finally move, her hands touched the cold body of Silas.

She couldn’t see anything, maybe it was one of the side effects of surviving such a damaging blow to her brain, but she couldn’t care at all.

”Silas? Silas?” Her hand traced the familiar features, and her heart sank. He was indeed Silas.

But why was his body so cold?

”Silas? Wake up! I wanted to say, I love you. I truly do... please! Just once... hear me, okay? I am sorry...” Ivy’s tears couldn’t stop flowing, ”Let’s get married, okay? I won’t run away from you anymore.”

What replied her was the cold silence.

”Silas! Wake up! I order! I command you! You never disobeyed words, right? Reply to me! You are angry that I didn’t say I love you, too, right? I will say it now. I love you! I love you!”

Ivy cried, and the sound of heartwrenching sobs echoed in the hollow abandoned warehouse.

She hugged Silas’s cold body and muttered,

”You are throwing a tantrum, I know. How can you bear to leave me in this world all alone? Silas... I don’t want to live anymore. Just take me with you, okay?”

”Ivy, don’t be selfish!” Henry’s thunderous voice stunned Ivy, and it was only then did she realized that she wasn’t alone.

Her eyes, though dim, looked in the direction from which the voice had come,

”Henry? You are here? Check on Silas. See, he is not replying to me at all. What should I do? I think he is angry with me. Oh right! I think he is injured. Can you please call the healer and get him healed?”

”Shut up!” Henry bellowed, but Ivy wasn’t in her rational mind at all,

”Are you furious about my actions from the previous day? I will beg you, okay? Just heal him, please.” Ivy muttered as she gently placed Silas to one side and knelt.

She started to bow in Henry’s direction and mutter,

”If you are angry, just take it out on me. But treat your captain, please? I still want to tell many things, I even want to get married to him.”

A faint choking sob echoed in Ivy’s ears, followed by the sound of things falling, more like someone collapsing.

Followed by Henry’s choked voice, ”Ivy... Silas... Silas is dead. Let him go.”

”No!” Ivy shouted in a furious voice, ”You are lying! Henry, I know I was very despicable, but please lie about your captain like that!”

Someone embraced her and followed another person.

”Ivy, he is truly dead.” It was Amelia, the cold, wet tears landed on Ivy’s shoulder blade.

”Don’t blame yourself.” Chloe’s voice was somber and choked up, too.

”It’s all her mistake!” Scarlett’s piercing voice stung Ivy’s heart, ”If it wasn’t for her, my Silas would still have been alive!”

Ivy couldn’t hear any words; all she could think about was the words ’Silas is dead’

He died? Because of her? Ivy felt her heart turning cold. She ignored their words and held Silas’s cold body.

Ignoring everyone’s words, she placed her ears on Silas’s chest. She waited and waited. For a single heartbeat... but nothing.

”No! No... he can’t be dead... he can’t be.” Ivy muttered.

”But he is! And you are his killer!” Scarlett shouted back, hatred evident in her tone. ”You know what, Ivy, if you have shame, just die along with him!”

Slap.

”What the f*ck, Aiden! Why did you slap me?” Scarlett screamed, but Ivy only felt that Scarlett’s words made sense.

If Silas had died, then she should have died too. At least in the underworld, they can be together, right?

With that thought, she started to touch around in the hopes of finding the hammer with which Damian had attacked her, and to her luck, she did find it.

Without hesitation, she swung it on her head; however, to her dismay, Chloe’s rough hand held hers.

”What the f*ck are you doing, Ivy?”

She pulled away the hammer with force, and Ivy, weakened by the previous blow, couldn’t resist; she could only shout and reach out for the hammer.

”No... let me die, okay? If he is dead. I will die too. I don’t want to live.”

Silence. If Ivy could see, she would have noticed how everyone was looking at her with a stunned expression.

But she couldn’t, and she couldn’t even care less. ”Chloe, give me the hammer, or just kill me. I will accompany Silas in the underworld. He must be waiting for me.”

Chloe broke down and shouted, ”Ivy, get a grip. Silas died while healing you! He wants you to live! Just live for him, okay? Please... we have already lost the captain... we can’t lose you too.”

”But...” Ivy began, but Henry cut off her mid-sentence, ”If you love him so much, live for him. He proved his love by dying; you prove yours by living.”

”Don’t feel guilty, just protect him in the next lifetime,” Amelia whispered as if she were soothing her.

......

Present life:

Looking at the car rushing in their direction, Ivy waved her hand.
