The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2165: Facing Urin

Cain cursed his luck under his breath, though he kept his expression still. There was no time to dwell on misfortune. Urin’s gaze was already upon him, sharp, divine, inescapable, and in that instant, he knew there were few paths forward.

He could run. He could flee through the fractured skies of the Second Realm, hiding from one battlefield to the next, spending decades eluding pursuit. But that wasn’t who he was. Running would only brand him as prey.

And Cain refused to be hunted.

Taking a deep breath, he made his choice.

He broke the seals around his heart.

A surge of energy roared through him as his power and soul force returned to circulation. The pain hit instantly, a burning spear of agony stabbing through his chest, as though molten metal were being poured into his veins. His heart convulsed under the pressure of the unstable fusion, but he betrayed nothing.

He rose into the sky, his aura swelling with each heartbeat. The Flow answered his will, rippling outward in waves that made the very air tremble.

The ArchDeities who were locked in combat across the Second Realm froze mid-battle, their senses screaming. For a moment, it felt as though a new Alpha-Omega Overgod had appeared upon the field.

Cain continued upward, ignoring the shock and whispers spreading below. He passed through the ranks of ArchDeities like a storm of divine presence, until he reached the highest skies where the air was thin and silence ruled.

There, Urin and Zarazel broke their duel and turned toward him.

The Neo-Angel’s wings were streaked with fire and divine light, her expression fierce but composed. She was wounded, but far from broken. Zarazel, the True Depravita of Fear, fared worse, his breathing ragged, his aura flickering from exhaustion. He was near collapse, barely clinging to consciousness.

Cain stopped at their level, his crimson wings spreading wide. The three beings floated in a triangle of tension that made the firmament quake. His crimson eyes glowed with golden light as he pierced into the heart and soul of the woman.

”So,” The Neo-Demon said softly, his voice carrying like thunder. ”You already know about your comrade’s fate.”

It wasn’t easy to spread such news across realms, but the death of an Alpha-Omega Overgod could shake empires. The Freedom Path would have paid any price to ensure its armies knew.

Urin clenched her fists. The loss of Bradly had already shattered the balance of power. She had launched her campaign into the Second Realm because she knew the Third was lost. With Tiramisu’s armies pressing from above, the only way to preserve her faction’s dominance was to claim this realm.

But now Cain stood before her—alive, defiant, and blazing with unrestrained might.

The Neo-Angel’s eyes narrowed. Her expression was a mix of curiosity and disbelief. Bradly’s account of his defeat had reached her, but she could not accept it. No mere ArchDeity, she thought, could destroy an Alpha-Omega Overgod alone.

Her perception probed deeper, only to be blocked by an invisible barrier. Still, she could feel the immense power pulsing through Cain’s body, radiant and unstable, like a sun threatening to implode. A tremor of unease rippled through her composure.

Cain studied her in silence for several seconds. Then his crimson eyes glowed with a golden hue, reaching to the core of her soul.

”Killing your comrade wasn’t easy,” he said, his voice even but edged with steel. ”He left wounds that will take time to heal. But if you’re looking for a fight...” He raised his hand. ”Then let’s finish what he started.”

Sky Devourer materialized in his grasp. The blade ignited with crimson light, trembling with barely contained power as his aura continued to rise. The world below seemed to shrink beneath his presence.

The ArchDeities far below recoiled instinctively, many withdrawing from their battles. The sheer pressure of Cain’s energy was suffocating—a storm of power that made the sky bow.

None of them could feel the truth, that Cain’s body was breaking apart. Every second of this display tore at his heart, threatening to rupture the delicate fusion within. But he had no choice. To show weakness now would invite death.

He could sense Urin’s emotions clearly, the conflict within her heart. Pride clashed with caution. Rage warred with reason. She wanted to test him, but something inside her hesitated.

Then the balance tipped.

A new presence appeared in the sky, a ripple of dark energy that coalesced behind Zarazel.

Meylin.

She emerged silently, her aura flaring as she poured her Depravita essence into Zarazel’s body. The change was immediate. His breath steadied, his eyes regained focus, and his strength surged. The aura of fear returned, deep, cold, all-consuming.

”Damn it,” Urin muttered, her wings twitching.

If it had been only Cain, she might have risked it. But with Zarazel recovering, she could no longer guarantee her life. Fear was the one power even she struggled to resist, and she knew that if Zarazel’s influence touched her mind while facing Cain’s overwhelming force, she would fall.

Her decision came swiftly.

Urin’s expression hardened into cold disdain. With a single gesture, she signaled her forces below.

The Freedom Path began to withdraw.

One by one, their divine lights faded from the battlefield, pulling back toward the edges of the realm. Within moments, the Neo-Angel herself turned away, wings flaring as she ascended toward the rift of light that marked her escape.

Only when her presence was gone did Cain allow his control to falter.

He reactivated the Supercomputer Assistant, immediately slowing the unstable fusion within his heart. The violent burning receded to a dull ache, though it left his body trembling. Before anyone could notice, he cloaked his aura completely, using The Flow to mask the disruption in his energy.

The urge to cough blood nearly overwhelmed him, but he swallowed it down. His face remained impassive as he surveyed the sky below.

Countless figures watched him, beings who had once stood above him: Tiamath, the Lord of the Void, and many others. But now, their eyes held something different.

Respect. And fear.

Cain exhaled softly, the faintest smile ghosting across his lips. He had returned from the edge of death stronger than all of them.

That was the reward for those who dared to dive into hell and crawl back out alive.
