Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 774: Let me hold you, even if only for a moment.

Rio hurriedly flew towards Ashtel and hid him behind himself while being ejected from the broken realm.

Those words carried such weight that the heavens could not bear anyone speaking about them; a look of shock and disbelief appeared even on Rio’s expressionless face, that was how shocking this information was!

”I can’t say any more than this, as we have already stimulated the heavens too much; I shall leave for now.”

”I will wait for you in the Demon King Palace.”

With that said, the Demon King placed a fist on his chest and bowed slightly toward Rio to show respect and say farewell.

Then he opened a teleportation portal for himself and left in a hurry.

Only after the Demon King left did the heavenly thunder start to finally calm down a bit.

”This is crazy...”

Rio knew that someone as overpowered like King Allen wouldn’t just die off so easily either, but to think that he actually didn’t lose in his final battle against the Sea of Miasma, that was something even Rio hadn’t expected.

’But if he didn’t lose the battle, then why is the sea of miasma still expanding continuously and still just existing...’

’Is the reason why the ’Sword of Cosmic Order, Raksha’ left his side related to King Allen’s final decisions that led to a rift between the two of them? What could be the reason behind all this?’

’There was no mention of such things in the original novel at all... sigh... the more time I spend in this world, the more mysterious it becomes and the more questions pile up in my head.’

Shaking his head in dismay, Rio carried Ashtel with his telekinesis and used the crown floating above his head in an invisible form to open a teleportation portal for himself.

...

Beast Archipelago, Island Felina.

Kotov Family Mansion, Guest Room No. 5.

”Uh, can you please let me go now for a bit? There are a lot of injured evacuated people outside in the evacuation camps that need healing magic urgently...”

”As one of the best healers in the world, I can’t just sit still and watch them all die; I need to go and heal all those people-”

Before Riya could even finish her words, Link immediately shook his head and refused to let go of her.

”No. You can use her healing field to heal them. I know that the range of your healing magic is very big; you can just heal them directly from here.”

”I don’t want you to go anywhere right now. Let me hold you for a bit longer.”

Link absolutely refused to let go of Riya and held her tightly in his arms as if he were afraid that someone would take her away from him and he would never be able to meet her again.

The memories that he saw in the sea of consciousness made by Raika had a profound effect on his mind, and he felt extremely fortunate that Riya was still here with him and nothing had happened to her.

”Sigh... I guess I will have to make do with healing field for now... but I can only give you a few more minutes; I need to go to other islands to see the situation and help the people that are stuck in the damaged areas...”

”Also, the areas that the demon armies attacked need purification; I would need to go there too. You can come with me if you are worried about me, you know.”

Link was reluctant to let Riya go into those danger-prone areas, but he couldn’t just confine Riya in a room like a psychopath to keep her safe; that would only make Riya angry and sad.

”Okay, I will go with you... just... just let me hold you for a bit longer.”

Seeing Link behave like a pitiful bullied puppy, Riya couldn’t help but feel a bit confused and concerned about what was going on with him.

’Not only Link, Lia is behaving weirdly too...’

Riya glanced towards the balcony only to see Lia standing there staring at the sky with a blank look on her face and eyes filled with anxiety.

Rio had gone to check on the situation at Ashtel’s side, and he couldn’t possibly bring Lia to such a dangerous place where two solar system destroyers were fighting each other like rabid dogs.

Thus, Lia was left behind, and she kept staring at the sky from the balcony like a person who had lost their soul and was longing for it to return to them.

”Uh, Lia, before leaving, Rio said he would return in a few minutes. Why don’t you eat something and relax a bit for now?”

”I am sure Rio would be back pretty soon!”

Despite Riya trying her best to comfort Lia, the words had no effect, and Lia didn’t move a single inch from her spot.

She just kept staring at the sky without blinking, as if she were afraid she would miss Rio’s returning silhouette if she blinked even once.

”Err... she’s not listening. What do I do now?”

Just when Riya was feeling confused, a powerful spatial fluctuation appeared in the room, and a teleportation portal opened right beside the two big beds located in the center of the room.

Rio flew out of the portal and placed Ashtel on the bed.

”Phew~ Finally made it back. Lia, Uncle Rex has been petrified by a destiny manipulation type attack, can you undo the petrification on him with your abilities-”

Before Rio could finish his words, a soft body came flying at him at a fast speed and clung to him instantly like a koala clinging to a tree stump!

Two big weapons were pushed against his face, almost choking him, and he almost staggered and lost his footing from the sudden attack!

”You are here! You are back! Hehehe, I knew you would come back!”

With a happy smile on her face, Lia held Rio’s head tightly in her arms, wrapped her legs around his waist, and the usual brightness appeared in her eyes right away.

She was so happy to see Rio that she didn’t even care who was watching and how embarrassed she would feel thinking about this scene later on.

For now, she just wanted to hold Rio in her arms tightly, even if only for a moment.
