Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 828: The Creation of Elemental Sword Art. Part-4.

The chief researcher Daniel hurriedly brought Zain to his own private lab and started searching for something in a panicked manner.

”Ugh! Where the f*ck did I put that thing!?”

*Crash!* *shatter*

Daniel pushed away several cabinets and equipment in a hurry, causing many precious fragile equipment to fall on the ground and shatter into pieces!

If this had happened before, Daniel would have died of heart attack due to losing such precious items, but right now he didn’t care about the loss at all!

As the head researcher with the most amount of knowledge among all researchers, Daniel knew all too well how powerful a demon can be.

According to what Daniel knew, if a demon could talk like a human and use cunningness to deceive others, then such an intelligent demon would at least be a C-rank demon!

For ordinary people, a C-ranker being is like a superhuman!

Moreover, with that C-ranker being a demon, the other party will only have higher base stats and various terrifying powers compared to other ordinary C-rankers!

Those fragile confinements made of steel and concrete will likely not be able to hold back that demon for long!

Daniel could already guess that the other party was likely calling him to make him feel despair and horror! He was being treated like prey that had nowhere to run!

Just like Daniel had tortured his daughter, the other party was now playing and torturing him with mental torture!

To prevent the demon from reaching him too fast, Daniel had deliberately issued orders to his subordinates that would push them more towards danger!

He had ordered that to gather the result data before leaving, but unfortunately, there was no way their ordinary group could outrun a powerful C-rank demon!

Even if they all managed to leave the facility somehow, it won’t be long before the demon manages to track them down and hunt them one by one!

Thus, there was actually no way out of this facility through ordinary methods, but the head researcher had a trump card!

*Thud!*

”Found it!”

When one of the locked cabinets was hurriedly opened, a look of happiness appeared in Daniel’s eyes when he managed to find a dark blue-colored box stored inside of it.

Inside the box were two objects; one was a book that seemed to be glowing with a mysterious multicolored aura swirling around it, and the other was a scroll radiated with the aura of dense mana.

”This is it!”

Daniel hurriedly brought out the scroll and opened it as he spoke in a smug voice,

”High-grade long-range teleportation magic scroll. Although the teleportation destination would be random, this is enough to ensure my survival.”

As the lead researcher, obviously Daniel had enough money and resources to get his hands on a few life-saving artifacts in the past.

The only reason he had never used this scroll until now was because he had no reason to use it before.

’Unfortunately, the teleportation weight capacity of this scroll is only about 200 kilograms. Teleporting myself and this frail kid with a few core research-related documents is fine but I can’t bring anyone else with me...’

This was also the main reason why Daniel had deceived the other researchers and had sent them to collect the research data to make them easier targets for the rampaging demon!

This way he would have enough time to come back to his own lab and escape via teleportation.

”Good! Let’s get going!”

Without further delay, Daniel started to prepare for teleportation as he placed the scroll on the ground and told Zain to hold the blue box and sit near the scroll.

Then he hurriedly started putting various documents in his own space ring!

*Shatter!* *Crack!!*

Just when Daniel was about to be done with collecting all the important documents, the door of the lab suddenly broke apart, and a three-meter-tall creature rushed inside.

The creature had the body of a crocodile, but it was walking upright on two feet. Its face still retained human-like features, but its jaw had mutated into that of a crocodile.

The creature had no skin or muscles on its stomach, and its internal organs were hanging out like pendulums of a clock!

Black pus splattered everywhere the creature went, and just the one look from its bloodshot eyes was enough to make anyone feel petrified!

*KEREKEKREKER! I knew it!!! You are a cunning trash who would go to any lengths to save your live!!! It’s a good thing I came to you first kekrekrekrek!!!*

Daniel’s plan to sneak away using others as a cover was indeed quite good, but he had severely miscalculated one thing.

Which was that the demon had the option to not go on a rampage, completely ignore the other researchers, and make its way to Daniel directly first instead of hunting the others!

The crocodile demon had completely shattered Daniel’s plan by doing something out of line for a demon!

*I WILL NOT LET YOU ESCAPE DANIEL!!! TODAY I WILL TORTURE YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU WILL BEG FOR DEATH!!!! I WILL RETURN THE PAIN THAT YOU INFLICTED ON MY DAUGHTER TO YOU BY A HUNDRED TIMES MORE!!!*

While roaring at the top of its lungs in hatred, the demon pounced straight towards Zain in an attempt to destroy the teleportation scroll and kill the boy.

A look of horror appeared on Zain’s face as his body became petrified and refused to move due to fear.

*BAM!!!*

”Urk...”

Just when Zain thought he was going to die, the head professor suddenly jumped in front of him and blocked the blow with his own body!

The crocodile’s paw pierced right through Daniel’s chest, shattering his heart on the spot!

”Zain!! Place your palm on the center of the scroll and activate it!!”

At Daniel’s order, Zain’s body moved obediently by pure instinct, and the teleportation scroll lit up instantly, activating the magic!

*NOOOOO!!!!!!!*

Before the demon could do anything, Zain and Daniel were teleported away in an instant along with half of the hand that was still embedded in the head researcher’s chest!

The demon hand seemed like it had been neatly sliced off by a blade, but the demon did not care about that minor injury!

*NOOOOO!!!!! I WANTED TO TORTURE HIM!!!!! THIS KIND OF DEATH IS TOO EASY ON HIM!!!!*

Later records state that the C-rank demon rampaged in the underground facility for three days and killed every single person inside before breaking the core reactor and blowing up the entire underground facility along with his own body!
