Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 173: Chapter 130: Forest Webbing! The Terrifying Wanmu Wolf!

”The Forest Wolf Troop isn’t having much luck!”

”That’s not necessarily true,” another voice countered. ”Although the terrain is more advantageous for the Rocky Tiger Troop, it must be understood that the Wood Element has a restraining effect on Earth-type Pet Beasts.”

”The Earth Giant Tiger isn’t like ordinary Earth-type Pet Beasts,” a third spectator mused. ”Strictly speaking, the Earth Giant Tiger should be considered Rock Element, which somewhat weakens the Wood Element’s suppression. It also depends on the evolutionary quality of each Race!”

Above the stands, a series of whispers rippled through the crowd. Undoubtedly, this debut battle for the Forest Wolf Troop’s new Evolutionary Body was attracting far more attention than most other team encounters.

Compared to the unknown Wanmu Wolf, it was clear that more people favored and were optimistic about the Earth Giant Tiger, which held the terrain advantage.

However, Li Da and his companions, visible on the projection, paid no heed to these opinions.

This was a competition, a battle for their respective honors.

At the same time, Li Da and his team could absolutely imagine the intense scrutiny they were under.

This was the Wanmu Wolf’s first appearance. They represented not only themselves but also the entire Forest Wolf Troop, and the potential assessment of this Wanmu Wolf Evolutionary Body.

Almost without Li Da needing to issue a command, the four Beast Tamers and their four Wanmu Wolves behind him had already formed a line. Upon careful observation, one could see dark green plant tendrils slowly emerging beneath the feet of these Wanmu Wolves.

They resembled small green snakes appearing on this Shanyuan.

”Attack!” Li Da’s sharp command cut through the air.

His companion Wanmu Wolf, Da Zhuang, moved instantly. However, instead of pouncing towards the opponent’s Earth Giant Tiger, it retreated directly, and the five Beast Tamers spread out as quickly as possible, trying their utmost to avoid a decapitation strike by the opponent’s Earth Giant Tigers.

Almost at the exact moment they acted, the Rocky Tiger Troop also made their move.

The actions of the human Beast Tamers on the opposing side were almost identical. They momentarily merged with their Pet Beasts before retreating. The next instant, as if the very earth shook and mountains quaked, thick rock walls instantly rose to shield all five of them.

In Beast Tamer combat, the Beast Tamers themselves are the most vulnerable points.

Ensuring the Beast Tamer’s safety while commanding the battle is a mandatory lesson for all Beast Tamers in practical combat.

And that was precisely the situation unfolding.

These rock walls formed a protective dome, like an inverted giant bowl, enclosing them within.

However, embedded at the top of this dome were several ’eyes’ that allowed the Beast Tamers to observe the situation outside through the pitch-black rock.

It seemed, at this juncture, that the Earth Giant Tiger’s defensive capabilities surpassed those of the Wanmu Wolf.

Those present here were the elites of the entire Legion.

Moreover, this was the Rocky Tiger Troop, the same troop that had previously crushed the Forest Wolf Troop. How could such an opponent be anything but formidable?

But Li Da and his team were also incredibly swift.

They had a much clearer understanding of their own situation.

The forest manifested by the Wanmu Wolves served as their most effective dynamic cover.

It was infinitely more flexible than the cumbersome rock fortress of their opponents.

In fact, under these circumstances, they merely needed to lead the Wanmu Wolves away. While the Earth Giant Tigers were not slow in this terrain, they would absolutely not dare to pursue them into the newly formed forest!

However, the opponents before them were their ’arch-nemeses.’ If they were to simply flee in disarray, they would never forgive themselves, let alone be able to face Chief Zhang Lie and Chief Lin.

Attack!

In that instant, everyone, both within the arena and watching from outside, stared wide-eyed, watching in disbelief at the scene unfolding.

What were they witnessing?

The five Earth Giant Tigers roared, charging towards the five Wanmu Wolves that had already melded into the transforming surroundings.

Yet, where moments ago there was only hard, open ground, now stood a dense thicket of enormous trees that had burst forth, completely dominating the landscape.

The Beast Tamers, led by Li Da, used the towering trees for support, nimbly darting through the branches.

The Earth Spikes summoned by the Earth Giant Tigers erupted from the ground—BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

But try as they might, their attacks could neither reach the Beast Tamers high in the trees nor the Wanmu Wolves, which had vanished completely within the instantly manifested jungle!

In that brief span, the Earth Spikes conjured from rock, the ground indentations, and even localized tremors—all were rendered completely ineffective!

Indeed, on the Shanyuan, the Earth Giant Tigers possessed a significant terrain advantage.

However, when this advantage was utterly negated by the Wanmu Wolves’ outrageously powerful Tree Prison and the forest manifested through their Language of Nature, the Wood Element’s suppression of the Earth Element reached its absolute zenith!

In the mere span of three breaths, the small Shanyuan had transformed into a dense grove.

This astounding spectacle left not only the members of the Rocky Tiger Troop, still huddled within their stone dome, utterly dumbfounded.

Everyone in the Legion who had come to witness the Wanmu Wolf’s capabilities was equally stupefied.

Some might have anticipated the Wanmu Wolf’s abilities to be formidable, but no one could have ever imagined they would be so overwhelmingly, unreasonably dominant.

The rapidly proliferating branches, like terrifying giant pythons, snaked towards the five Earth Giant Tigers.

Impossible to defend against!

Due to Attribute suppression, the moment the tree roots burrowed in, the condensed rocks were almost instantly forced apart and shattered from within.

The lead Earth Giant Tiger was instantly ensnared and lifted by the rapidly spreading branches.
