Lin Yi smiled and nodded. “I performed well during the recording, so 1 was called over.” “Look, what did I say? With your looks and figure, you’ll definitely become popular as long as you enter the entertainment industry. Director Yan definitely made the right choice to hire you.”

“You’re right. That’s why I’m here.”

“I hope the two of us can work together again. 1 still haven’t forgotten the time when we were filming at Kyokawa Island.”

“Me too,” Lin Yi said casually.

That was true, but Lin Yi only remembered killing a crocodile, taking a bullet, and finally meeting the man in black.

He had almost forgotten about everything else.

“Then let’s talk about what happened today. You have to come and support Director Yan’s show.”

“No problem. If Brother Lin asks, I’ll definitely help.”

“It’s settled.”

“Uh-huh.”

After a few simple pleasantries, Zhao Yinian and her manager sat on a chair at the side and waited for the others to arrive.

Yan Ci was in a good mood.

Zhao Yinian recognized Lin Yi as soon as he entered, and the two of them were chatting so happily. There should be no problem getting them to work together.

“Not bad.” Yan Ci whispered into Lin Yi’s ear.

“If we can settle this today, 1’11 buy you a drink tonight.”

“It’s a deal.”

At the same time, Zhao Yinian and her new manager, Zhang Jinhua, started chatting softly.

“In the future, pay attention to the way you speak. You’re different from before. You’ve already become an A-list celebrity. You have to know your limits when interacting with others. You have to limit your friendliness.”

“But he’s my good friend. Without him, 1 wouldn’t have been able to go all the way in Kyokawa Island, and I wouldn’t have been able to make a name for myself in that show.” “I understand what you mean, but you have to understand your identity. The entertainment industry is different from other circles. You can become famous overnight or collapse overnight, so you have to be careful and cherish your current reputation.”

“I understand, Sister Hua.”

“I’m guessing Director Yan called him over to be a lobbyist. He wants you to participate in her new show,” Zhang Jinhua said.

“I don’t think there’s a problem. I have to strike while the iron is hot and take on more variety shows and scripts to solidify my status as an A-list actress. Only then can 1 gain a foothold in the entertainment industry.”

“Don’t make it sound so ridiculous. You’re no longer the Zhao Yinian of the past. You can’t accept all kinds of variety shows. You should only accept those variety shows that are filled with big shots.”

“Oh, but I’ve already promised them. I have to help.”

“Let’s observe the situation first.” Zhang Jinhua said.

“Don’t forget that the main purpose of coming here today is not to look good, but to see Director Zhao. He’s from Yanjing and has a lot of resources in his hands. You have to build a good relationship with him so that you can gain a foothold in the entertainment industry.”

“I know what I’m supposed to do.”

“Then 1 won’t say anything else.”

“Uh-huh.”

While they were talking, the door of the private room was pushed open and two men walked in.

One of them was old, about 50 years old. He was thin and slovenly dressed.

He has on a pair of AJ1, blue jeans, and a white striped half-sleeve. The combination of clothes that made up his outfit was very strange.

Although he was dressed poorly, anyone with a discerning eye could tell that this middle-aged man was the protagonist.

Lin Yi guessed that he should be the director Yan Ci was talking about.

As for the young man behind him, it was very likely that he was his assistant.

When the middle-aged man came in, Yan Ci and Zhao Yinian stood up.

“Lin Yi, let me introduce you. This is Zhao Haihong, Director Zhao. Consider, ‘Red Sun Rising’ and ‘Eastern Sun’. These well-known works were all produced by Director Zhao.” Although both of them were directors, there was a world of difference between them.

Yan Ci was the director of the TV station. To be honest, she was not famous. She was just a staff member.

However, Zhao Haihong was different. He was a true big shot in the entertainment industry.

It was impossible to compare them.

“Hello, Director Zhao. I’m Zhao Yinian. I’ve heard a lot about you. It’s an honor to have a meal with you,” Zhao Yinian bowed and said very politely.

Zhao Haihong nodded. “I know you. You acted quite well in the new period drama. 1 have another movie to film. I was just about to talk to you about this.”

Zhao Yinian was overjoyed. Zhao Haihong was a big director in the industry. If she could work with him in the next movie, she would gain a firm foothold in the entertainment industry.

She had to seize this opportunity!

“Thank you, Director Zhao. Thank you, Director Zhao. It’s my honor to work with you.”

Zhao Haihong enjoyed Zhao Yinian’s flattery. His assistant pulled a chair over and he sat down.

His gaze also landed on Lin Yi. It was at this moment that his expression changed and he sized him up for a few seconds.

Yan Ci, who was good at reading people’s expressions, realized that something was wrong with Zhao Haihong’s expression and hurriedly introduced them,

“Director Zhao, this man is Lin Yi. Previously, I directed a wilderness survival show. He successfully reached the finish line in the show. Be it his appearance or his foundation, he’s top-notch in all aspects.”

Zhao Haihong’s expression did not change. It was still very cold.

“Did you get into a fight with someone at the OT Bar in Yanjing a while ago?”

As soon as he said this, everyone in the room was stunned. They did not expect such a thing to happen.

“How did you know? Did you pass by?”

This news was a little unexpected to Lin Yi.

Because this matter had blown up and the news had been restricted, it was indeed strange that a director like him knew about this.

“Hmph!”

Zhao Haihong snorted coldly. “How dare you say that?! Among the people you beat up, there was someone called Zhao Zhenyu. He’s my nephew!”

Zhao Haihong was not Zhao Zhenyu’s biological uncle. He was from the extended family.

However, his current status in the entertainment industry was all due to the Zhao family’s help.

Ermmm…

This was a little awkward.

“That’s quite a coincidence.” Lin Yi chuckled.

“It can’t be helped. He can only blame himself for being unlucky. He insisted on showing off with Zhao Mo and the others and asked for a beating. What can I do?”

Bang!

Zhao Haihong slammed the table and stood up. He looked at Yan Ci and said,

“Director Yan, 1 don’t think there’s a need for me to eat this meal. Let’s disperse now!”

“Well…”

Although he hadn’t figured out what was going on, Yan Ci could tell that there was a lot of conflict between Lin Yi and Zhao Haihong. It was probably impossible for them to cooperate.

“Director Zhao, I’ll send you off!”

“There’s no need!” Zhao Haihong waved his sleeve and turned to leave.

“Director Zhao, wait a moment. We’ll go with you,” Zhang Jinhua said.

Yan Ci was stunned. “Didn’t we agree to work together? If you leave, how are you going to…” “Director Yan, don’t spout nonsense. We didn’t agree to work with you..”
