Lin Yi weighed the fruits for the two of them and gave them a few cherries. He was very straightforward.

“Thank you, Little Brother. We’ll leave first. We’ll help you promote your shop.”

“Okay.”

After the two of them left, Lin Yi continued selling fruits.

However, business was bleak. He only sold one pound in just over an hour.

Lin Yi looked at the fruits. They were all pretty good and showed no signs of decay. They should be able to last for a few more days, but he had to sell them as soon as possible.

Ring ring ring!

Just as Lin Yi was about to start another game, his phone rang. It was a call from Yan Ci.

“What have you been up to? How’s the farming going?”

Recently, Lin Yi and Yan Ci had been busy, so they hadn’t seen each other. They had only contacted each other a few times through the phone. When she found out that Lin Yi was farming and raising pigs, she almost laughed out loud.

“The fruits are all ripe. 1 just brought them to Zhonghai to sell today. I’m preparing to send some to you when I close the stall tonight.”

Lin Yi lied without blushing.

“At least you have some conscience. I thought you wouldn’t look for me other than to drink.”

“How is that possible? After all, we have a revolutionary friendship. How can 1 forget about you when there’s such a good thing going on?”

“Tonight is perfect. 1 have something to discuss with you. Can you join me for a dinner gathering? Can you make time for it?”

“Dinner gathering? Is it a blind date setup or for a work-related drinking event?”

“You seem to have a lot of experience.”

“I’ve done it times.”

“Neither,” said Yan Ci.

“Where are you? I’ll go look for you now. Let’s talk in detail when we meet.”

“At the entrance of Tangchen First Class, just come here and look for me.”

“I’m in the suburbs. I’ll be there in about an hour. Estimate the time and pack your things in advance.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up Yan Ci’s call, Lin Yi played with his phone for a while.

Moreover, his luck improved. He met two young girls who were infatuated with him. They each bought a kilogram for him and helped his business.

About 40 minutes later, Lin Yi loaded the fruits into the car and seperated a portion for Yan Ci.

After all, he had drank with her so many times, so he had to give her some. He could not favor one girl over the other.

Not long after, Yan Ci stopped a Volkswagen CC in front of Lin Yi.

“Get in the car. We’re going to be late. We have to hurry.”

Lin Yi didn’t waste any time and got into Yan Ci’s car.

Yan Ci was still as charming as ever.

She was wearing a red dress that accentuated her slender waist.

“Why are you driving this car? It only costs about 200,000 yuan.”

“I sold my previous and changed it to this.”

“Why did you change your car? You shouldn’t have encountered a financial crisis, right?”

“Ever since I finished filming that show, 1 resigned. I started a media company and started my own business.”

Yan Ci’s actions surprised Lin Yi.

After filming such a successful show, she should have reached the peak of her career. As long as she was willing to work hard, it would not be a problem for her to climb to the position of director.

However, she chose to back out at this moment. Ordinary people did not have the courage to do such a thing.

“It’s not a good idea to always work for others. I have to have some of my own pursuits, don’t you think?”

“That’s true.” Lin Yi nodded. “Are you trying to get investors? 1 have the money, just give me a number.”

“You make it sound like I’m your mistress,” Yan Ci said with a smile.

“After drinking so much, I have to pay for some wine.”

“F*ck you, don’t talk nonsense. I’m not here to sell myself,” Yan Ci said.

“I want to plan a variety show. 1 have an appointment with a director today and Zhao Yinian to discuss a collaboration. There won’t be much of a problem with the director. My main difficulty is that Zhao Yinian is now popular and there are many people who want to collaborate with her. It’s very difficult to rope her in, so I want you to come along.”

“You want me to go over and be a lobbyist?”

“Clever,” Yan Ci said.

“The two of you journeyed to the end together at Kyokawa Island. 1 heard from the cameraman accompanying you that the two of you were quite close, so I wanted to ask you for a favor.”

“Aren’t you overestimating me a little? Although our relationship is quite good, it was only at that time. Moreover, 1 didn’t even leave her my phone number. It’s been so long, so my words might not have any impact.”

“At least you share a relationship. If it weren’t for you, she wouldn’t have reached the end,” Yan Ci said.

“Besides, I’ve already asked around. She’ll have an opening in her schedule in three months’ time. We might be able to get her then.”

“If that’s the case, I don’t mind giving it a try.”

Lin Yi felt that Zhao Yinian wasn’t a bad person. She was honest.

In addition, he had indeed helped her a lot in Kyokawa Island and formed a deep friendship with her. If she had time, she would probably help him.

“I don’t think you have to do this. If you need money, just tell me. I’ll invest in you. You can sign whoever you want. I don’t believe that people will reject huge amounts of money.”

“It wouldn’t be meaningful to do it that way. Considering your character and our relationship, if I were to say I don’t have enough money to spend, and I ask you for a few hundred thousand or even a million, you won’t even hesitate, right?”

“There’s more money leaking out of my fingers than that.”

“Well, I’m not short of money. Even if it doesn’t work out, with you behind me, I won’t have to worry about food and drink. I just want to prove my ability.”

“You’re already at this age. If we talk about dreams again, you’ll sound too whimsical.”

“What do you mean at this age? I’m not old at all.” Yan Ci rolled his eyes.

“When I was at the television station, everyone said that I was very capable, but 1 really didn’t think much of it. However, there were times when I got lost and mistakenly thought that I was very powerful, so I wanted to come out and give it a try to see what my true level is.”

“Then do as much as you want. I have no problem supporting you.”

“That’s why you have to help me. If we can really get Zhao Yinian in, the viewership ratings will be guaranteed to be positive.”

“I don’t think it’s a big problem. I’ll try my best.”

Half an hour later, Yan Ci stopped in front of the hotel and went to the private room with Lin Yi.

“Hurry up. They’ll probably be here soon. We were the ones who took the initiative to ask them out. It won’t be good if we’re late.”

“People are always waiting for me in Zhonghai. When have I ever waited for them?”

Yan Ci blinked. “This is for helping me. Thank you for your hard work, President Lin.”

“Let’s go.”

The two of them arrived at the private room of the hotel. It was about 50 square meters. The design and tastefulness were more than sufficient.

Not long after the two of them arrived, the door of the private room was pushed open. With a faint fragrance, Zhao Yinian and her manager walked in.

Seeing Lin Yi, Zhao Yinian was stunned for a moment before saying in surprise,

“Brother Lin, you’re here!”
