The woman who spoke wore jeans and Doc Martens.

She was wearing a black leather jacket and a pair of sunglasses. She looked very flamboyant.

The woman’s name was Qiu Yuluo, and she was the leader of the second team of the Central Guards Brigade.

“He’s from Zhonghai. He doesn’t know much about the traffic in Yanjing, so he didn’t factor in the time. He’s stuck on the road,” Tao Cheng said.

“I’ve already urged him just now. He should be here soon.’

Qiu Yuluo looked at her watch. “If he doesn’t come before nine o’clock, we will reject this person. He’s too unruly.”

Wang Bingyu stood at the side and didn’t say anything. She just pursed her lips. After the New Year, her team leader’s temper had worsened. She probably quarreled with her boyfriend again.

“Team Leader, that’s not good. Lin Yi was specifically recruited by the Central Guards Brigade. If you do this, the other team leaders might have objections.”

“If anyone has any objections, bring them to me.” Qiu Yuluo said.

“I’ll say it again. We will follow the rules strictly. If he doesn’t come before nine, then he need not come at all.”

“Come on, Yuluo, I heard that guy named Lin Yi is quite handsome. If you don’t want him, our team will take him. There’s no reason to dismiss him for no good reason.”

The person who spoke was called Ning Che, and she was the team leader of the Central Guards Brigade’s third team.

Ning Che had a very typical internet celebrity face, but she did not have any makeup on. She could be considered a natural beauty.

She wasn’t dressed like Qiu Yuluo, who looked valiant and heroic. Instead, she was wearing black plush leggings and a black cashmere coat. She even wore a set of small heels. Coupled with her wavy hair and red lips, she was dressed like a scumbag.

This time, the Central Guards Brigade recruitment was for Team 2 and Team 3.

In the previous operation, the two groups had suffered heavy losses. Thirteen people had died in total, and their two team leaders had been promoted afterward.

Compared to Team 1 and Team 4, their overall strength was much weaker. Therefore, this recruitment could be considered a way to replenish their combat strength.

“I’m the chief instructor of this trial. What I want to do is not for you to interfere,” Qiu Yuluo said.

“This recruitment has a total of 36 positions, and 35 of them arrived 20 minutes early and were punctual. Those who lack a sense of time and exhibit such disorganization and lack of discipline are not needed in the Central Guards Brigade.”

Qiu Yuluo’s Team 2 had lost a total of nine people in the operation. Most of the successful trainees would be transferred to the second team, so that was why she was the chief instructor.

“The principles of law should not neglect human emotions. Just because your boyfriend didn’t take care of you last night, it’s unfair to take out your anger on these newcomers. Isn’t that a bit too much?” Ning Che said with a smile, showing no fear of Qiu Yuluo.

The two of them had entered the Central Guards Brigade three years ago.

However, they had always been at odds with each other and could not stand each other. It was the same today.

“This is my rule. If you’re dissatisfied, go talk to the leader. Don’t talk to me like that.”

There was a reason why Qiu Yuluo was angry.

Because Qiu Dongnan, whom Lin Yi beat up last night, was her brother.

After understanding the ins and outs of the matter, she also learned that Lin Yi was not to blame over this.

It was only natural she would feel uncomfortable if her younger brother was beaten up.

However, no one else knew about this. No one understood why Qiu Yuluo was so angry.

They just thought that her period was coming soon or that she had quarreled with her boyfriend.

“Team Leader, Lin Yi’s level is actually very high. It would be a pity to turn him down so easily.”

From the moment he saw Lin Yi, Tao Cheng felt that he was very interesting and wanted to recruit him into the team.

“Other than that, in the previous mission, our second team suffered heavy losses. Our overall strength is inferior to the third team. The leader also intends to transfer Lin Yi to our second team. These are all gifts sent right to our door. We shouldn’t reject them.”

“I don’t want to hear any other excuses. This is my rule. There’s no point in him coming after nine.”

There was a reason why Qiu Yuluo’s attitude was so unyielding.

In all of their eyes, the Central Guards Brigade was a very sacred place. It was like how ordinary people looked at civil servants. They all desperately wanted to enter.

Therefore, she also looked down on Lin Yi’s current indifferent attitude. If possible, she didn’t want Lin Yi to join them.

“Then I’ll rush him again.”

Seeing that Qiu Yuluo’s stance hadn’t softened, Tao Cheng couldn’t say anything else. He could only call Lin Yi and remind him to arrive before nine.

“Big Brother Cheng, don’t call him. You know the traffic in Yanjing. It’d be strange if he can rush over , ” Wang Bingyu said.

“Although he’s quite handsome, his brain seems to be a little abnormal. If I were to be teammates with such a person, I might be tricked by him.’

“Don’t judge people by their looks. His ability is obvious. I’ll make a call to ask about the situation first.’

With that, Tao Cheng called Lin Yi.

‘Where are you?”

“I’m not too sure either. There are tall buildings all around. I’m driving toward you.”

“Then hurry up. You have to be there before nine, or you’ll lose the right to join the trial.”

“Huh? Is it that strict?”

“We have no choice. Our team leader has spoken. She said that the rules cannot be broken.”

“Is your team leader on her period? Will she die if I’m just a few minutes late? This is too pretentious.”

“This, this…” Tao Cheng didn’t know what to say. “Let’s not talk about anything else. Just hurry up. We’re all waiting for you.”

“Alright, got it.”

“Big Brother Cheng, what did he say?” Wang Bingyu asked curiously. “Children shouldn’t ask questions they need not know the answers to.”

“Don’t tell me he said something overboard?’

“I’ve already told you not to probe. Why are you still asking?”

Tao Cheng felt that if his team leader learned about the contents of the conversation just now, she would probably go berserk.

“I don’t want to wait for him anymore. Let’s start now,” Qiu Yuluo said.

“There are still five minutes left. Why don’t we wait a little longer?”

“There’s no need. Even if I give him another five minutes, he won’t come. He doesn’t even have the most basic attitude. Why should I accept him?”

“Don’t say that. The two of us communicated over the phone just now. He should be able to arrive on time.”

“Don’t try to hype him up. It’s not like I don’t know the traffic in Yanjing. It’d be a miracle if he can get here on time.”

Boom, boom, boom…

Just as Qiu Yuluo was about to continue reprimanding, she suddenly heard the roar of an engine.

Subsequently, everyone subconsciously turned their heads and looked toward the entrance.

He realized that an Audi was driving toward them. Dust and smoke were kicked up in all directions. It was moving extremely fast, traveling at least 80 miles per hour!

This not slow considering they were in the city.

Everyone was wondering who was driving so fast.

This was the Central Guards Brigade’s trial training base. How impudent!

A few seconds later, Lin Yi stopped the car in front of Tao Cheng and slowly got out.

“Three minutes to nine. I’m not late..”
