“Little Lin, what are you doing?”

Just as Lin Yi was in a daze, he suddenly heard Yao Bin calling him from next door.

‘What’s wrong?”

“Didn’t your girlfriend say that he wanted to raise a piglet? My second brother’s sow seems like it might give birth at any time. She might even give birth tonight. Do you want it?”

“Of course, she’s been urging me for a few days,” Lin Yi said, “Are you sure we can get it tonight?”

“Most likely. I don’t think any of you have ever seen a pig give birth to a piglet before.”

“I really haven’t,” Lin Yi said, “I’ll give her a call.”

Lin Yi took out his phone and called Ji Qingyan.

“Third brother’s second brother has a pig that is about to give birth. Do you want to go watch?”

After a few days of interaction, Lin Yi became familiar with everyone in the village.

Knowing that Yao Bing was the third son in their family, so they called him Third Brother.

“Really? I want to go. I’ve never seen something like that before.”

“Come on, then.”

“I’ll wait for you. Come over right now.”

With that, Ji Qingyan hung up the phone and prepared to head over.

About an hour later, Ji Qingyan rushed over in her car.

‘Where is it? Hurry up and bring me to take a look,” Ji Qingyan said hastily.

“Don’t be anxious. Let’s go to Third Brother’s house first, then he’ll bring us there.”

Carrying Ji Qingyan in his arms, Lin Yi climbed over the wall seperating the two estates and arrived at Yao Bin’s house.

“Third Elder Brother, Sister-in-law,” greeted Ji Qingyan with a smile.

“Sister, why are you dressed so neatly?’ Liu Chunli said.

“Go change your clothes.”

“I look pretty ordinary in this,” Ji Qingyan said. “I’ve even changed into flats.”

“Our village isn’t as clean as the city. Moreover, the smell there is strong. If it affects your clothes, you might as well throw those clothes away,” Liu Chunli said.

“Also, go and wear a mask. The smell of pigs will be too strong. You won’t be able to stand it.”

“It’s fine. Although I grew up in the city, I’m not that pretentious.” Ji Qingyan said, “I’m also a boorish person.’

Liu Chunli smiled. The more she looked at Ji Qingyan, the more she liked her.

She was so good-looking yet didn’t put on any airs.

If only his son could marry such a good-looking wife. “Alright then, try to bear with it when the time comes.”

At this moment, Yao Bin walked out of the house.

“Hurry up, hurry up. Second Brother said it’s going to rain soon.”

The four of them left the courtyard and walked for a few minutes before arriving at Yao Bin’s second brother’s house.

Yao Bin’s second brother was called Yao Meng. He looked a little like Yao Bin. “Hey, why are you dressed so cleanly?” Yao Bing’s sister-in-law, Zhao Lixia, asked.

Because of Yao Bin, Lin Yi was very familiar with Yao Meng.

Sometimes, they would even drive to town to help them carry their goods. After a while, they had established a pretty friendly relationship.

“I told her just now, but she didn’t listen,” Liu Chunli said.

“Hurry up and take off your coat. I’ll find you something to wear first.” Zhao Lixia pulled Ji Qingyan into the house. “Your clothes are really nice. It won’t be good if they get dirty.”

“Thank you, Second Sister-in-law.”

“You’re welcome.”

Zhao Lixia found a blue gown from the wardrobe and handed it to Ji Qingyan.

“You can wear this. I just washed it, so it’s not dirty.”

“It’s okay. I won’t have that much to do.”

Ji Qingyan took off her cashmere coat and prepared to put on her overcoat.

“Girl, those two things of yours are big enough,” Zhao Lixia said. “I’ve already given birth to a child, and I still can’t compare to you. You will have more than enough milk for your baby.”

“Um.

Zhao Lixia’s blabbering made Ji Qingyan feel embarrassed. Although there were only three women in the room, she couldn’t just blurt something like this out!

“It-it’s alright…”

“Second Sister-in-law, even if all else fails, the women in the city know how to take care of themselves. Even if they get old, they will still look good.” Liu Chunli said.

“Let’s not talk about feeding children. I’m not married yet.”

“Of course. Look at her figure. She’s really something,” Zhao Lixia said.

“Look at the two of us. Our butts are as big as the lid of that pot.”

“Second Sister-in-law, Third Sister-in-law, let’s stop talking. Hurry up and bring me out to watch the birth.”

Ji Qingyan liked the simple folk customs in the village, but she still needed some time to get used to the straightforward way of speaking.

“Alright, alright, alright. Let’s not talk about it anymore. The girls in your city are all thin-skinned.”

Zhao Lixia laughed and led Ji Qingyan out.

“Second Sister-in-law, don’t we have to go to the pigpen?” she asked.

“Isn’t the sow going to give birth soon? Because of this, she was moved to the storeroom. The conditions are better than the pigsty,” Zhao Lixia said. “This is similar to when a person gives birth. When you’re about to give birth, you’ll have to go to the delivery room.”

“Oh, I see.”

When the three of them arrived at the storeroom, Ji Qingyan saw Lin Yi and walked over to him.

However, she was in no mood to fuss about Lin Yi. Her mind was on the sow on the ground.

The sow on the ground weighed more than 300 kilograms. She lay on the ground and cried out non-stop, causing Ji Qingyan to frown.

Although she couldn’t understand the grunting sounds, she could feel that the sow was m pain.

“It’s already due, but why hasn’t it come out yet, Doctor Little Niu? I hope nothing has gone wrong.”

The person called Doctor Little Niu was called Niu Shuang. It turned out that he was a doctor from the town’s health center.

Due to the poor financial package provided by his job, he took on the additional job of delivering piglets.

In addition to that, he also delivered calves and lambs for many households. In the last year, he helped one particular family’s pig give birth to 14 piglets, which made Niu Shuang famous.

After that, rumors spread to find Niu Shuang whenever livestock needed to give birth. If you did, there would definitely be a lot of babies.

Little did they know that he was only a midwife, not a breeder.

How many children the animal gave birth to had nothing to do with him.

However, from a certain point of view, he was also a strange person.

“I have delivered all the sows in the village, what could go wrong? Just wait and see,” Niu Shuang said.

Although that was the case, the Yao family was still very anxious.

From what they knew, it was about time for the show to give birth.

However, the piglet had not come out yet. Thus, they could not help but feel nervous.

If there were any complications, the losses would be huge.

“There shouldn’t be anything wrong, right?” Ji Qingyan asked.

“It seems that it is facing difficulties giving birth,” Lin Yi said, “But it shouldn’t be a big problem.”

With the help of the system, Lin Yi had master-level clinical experience in all subjects, but veterinary medicine was not included.

Lin Yi could only deduce from his experience that this was most likely the situation.

Niu Shuang squatted down, put on his gloves, and reached into the birth canal.

After feeling around for a long time, he frowned and muttered,

‘Where is the baby?’

“This is a tricky birth, it seems like this approach won’t work.” Lin Yi said.

Lin Yi also realized that Niu Shuang was just a half-hearted veterinarian who relied on makeshift methods without any technical expertise.

To put it nicely, he relied on brute force to work miracles.

To put it bluntly, he was just randomly trying different methods.

If the delivery is successful, everyone would be happy. If not, they’ll just slaughter the pig for meat.

In any case, this was quite thrilling..
