804 I’m Angry Because I’m the Lady Boss

“Is your secretary all right? Can you ask her to pick up something for me?”

“What do you want to buy? I’ll tell her now.”

“Hmm… Have her buy some good fruits and some nutritional supplements. That should be enough.”

“I’ve already prepared everything for you. When you go back, bring it to Mother Wang. You don’t have to worry about these things.”

!!
“It’s not for my mother. I’m going to see a patient.”

“Patient?”

“Old Gao’s grandmother has a terminal illness. She probably doesn’t have much time left. I’m going to take some time to visit her.” Lin Yi said.

“By the way, ask your secretary to buy more and prepare three sets.”

Lin Yi didn’t plan to go himself. He had to bring Old Qin and Old Liang along after something like this happened.

Ji Qingyan looked a little sad.

“Could it be that Gao Zongyuan’s grandmother wanted to meet her future granddaughter-in-law, which is why he pursued Yuanyuan?”

Lin Yi looked at Ji Qingyan. He didn’t expect her to even guess this.

It was obvious that she had watched too many tv dramas.

“Don’t worry, I’ve already asked about this,” Lin Yi said.

“His grandmother was thinking about this, but Old Gao is also genuinely interested in Yuanyuan. This is just a coincidence.”

“That’s fine.”

As she spoke, Ji Qingyan picked up the landline and called her secretary to arrange everything that Lin Yi had instructed her to do.

“When are you going?”

“Tomorrow. Because we have a live stream the day after tomorrow, there might be a lot of things to do then.”

“In that case, I’ll go with you, and then I’ll call Yuanyuan. When the time comes, I’ll pretend to be Gao Zongyuan’s girlfriend and make the old lady happy.”

“How did you come up with that plan?”

“That’s what they do in TV dramas.”

“That seems to be the case.”

“I’ll call Yuanyuan later and tell her about this. I don’t think it’s a big problem. She should be able to agree.”

Lin Yi also felt that this was a good idea. With Ji Qingyan and He Yuanyuan’s relationship, this small favor shouldn’t be a problem.

“Then it’s settled. I’ll call Old Qin and Old Liang later.”

“Do you know which hospital she’s at?”

“That’s simple. With Old Gao’s family’s financial resources, they must be staying in the best hospital around. With my influence in the medical system, I can find out where she is with a casual call.”

“Sure, Mr. Lin,” Ji Qingyan said with a smile.

“It’s just a minor problem.”

Ring ring ring!

Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was a call from He Yuanyuan.

“Speak of the devil and there he will be. I was just talking about her when she called.”

When he picked up the phone, Lin Yi looked at his watch and realized that it was already half past ten.

The listing should be over by now. She was probably here to report the good news.

“How’s the situation? Did everything go well?” Lin Yi asked.

“It went smoothly, but something happened after we went public.” He Yuanyuan’s tone was very calm. She was not in a hurry at all. She did not sound like something had happened at all.

Due to this, Lin Yi did not take it too seriously and only asked casually,

“What happened?”

“After going public, the stock price rose. According to my and Brother Qi’s estimations, we might reach the limit up1. However, just now, there was a lot of negative news about Longxin. As a result, the upward trend was somewhat dampened. If this continues, it’s very likely that we’ll become the shame of all listed companies.”

“F*ck, why are you still so calm after such a big thing happened?”

“Because I know that someone is behind this.” He Yuanyuan said.

“Moreover, I feel that with your ability, you should be able to handle this matter, so all of this is temporary. I’m only in charge of passing the message and informing you of this matter. Moreover, even if we lose money, it’s you who will lose money. It has nothing to do with me, so I’m not flustered at all. Slurp… slurp… slurp… The Eight Treasures Porridge sold at the exchange is quite delicious…”

“F*ck!” Lin Yi cursed, “Compile a copy of those posts and send it to my phone.”

“Wait a minute. I’ll send it to you now.”

“What happened?” Ji Qingyan asked when she saw Lin Yi’s pale face.

“Someone is behind this. Longxin’s stock price is likely to fall.”

“This is a big deal.”

Normally speaking, when a company went public, its shares would rise greatly on the same day before starting to fall later on.

If Longxin’s shares fell after it went public, it would be a great humiliation.

Lin Yi nodded with a heavy expression.

Actually, he did not care about what was written on the post. It would definitely be something defamatory.

The question was, who was behind this?

It was impossible that Zhang Haiyong was behind this. He was just a small chess piece. It could be said that he was nothing.

He did not have the ability to stir up trouble for Longxin.

Caie Mitsui, on the other hand, had outstanding abilities. It would not be a problem for her to do such a thing.

However, he still maintained a good relationship with her. It was impossible for her to do such a thing for no reason.

On the other hand, Zhang Zhenhao, who had fallen out with him, was a possible candidate.

Lin Yi rubbed his chin. This brother of his was quite capable.

However, when he thought about it, he still felt that something was amiss.

The two of them had fallen out the night before. It was a little suspicious that he could make up so much nonsense in just a few hours without any substantial evidence.

This was because this required a lot of skill. After living for so many years, other than himself, he had never met another person who could do such a thing.

However, for the time being, he was the only person Lin Yi was aware of who could think up such a plan.

Soon, He Yuanyuan sent over the relevant posts.

Lin Yi sent a copy to Ji Qingyan at the same time.

“Fake finances?”

“Is there a problem with the product?”

“No corresponding job security?”

“The research and development results are suspected to be faked?”

Ji Qingyan was so angry that her brows furrowed and her towering chest heaved up and down.

“This is clearly fabricated nonsense. There’s no morality to it at all! How can anyone believe this?!”

“Look at the source of these posts. Many of them are from official media outlets. Someone must have helped.”

Lin Yi said, “The mastermind is causing trouble, and some people who have a grudge against me are fanning the flames. That’s why this situation is happening.”

“But the truth can’t be buried forever. I believe that it won’t be long before the truth comes to light,” said Ji Qingyan.

“I’ll organize a public relations session in response to this matter. No matter what, we have to show our stance.”

“There’s no need. It’s easy to make things worse.” Lin Yi walked behind Ji Qingyan and massaged her shoulders.

“Lady Boss, calm down. There’s no need to be like this. You have to learn from He Yuanyuan and calm down. After such a big incident, she’s still busy eating her Eight Treasures Porridge.”

“Hmph, I’m angry because I’m the lady boss.” Ji Qingyan huffed. “The losses are all taken from our family’s wealth.”
