“8,000 yuan?”

Wang Ran was dumbfounded. “Teacher Lin, you don’t have to purposely take care of me. Normal University isn’t a good school, and 3,000 yuan is already considered a very high salary for its graduates.”

“I’m the CEO, so 8,000 yuan isn’t too much to me. It’s a normal salary,” Lin Yi said.

“Besides, if you don’t do a good job, your salary will be deducted. Don’t take it too lightly.”

“Well, I think it’s too much. I don’t think I’m worth that much,” Wang Ran said gratefully. “Thank you, Teacher Lin, for taking care of me.”

!!
“Let me give you a task,” Lin Yi said.

“Your current job is mainly to connect with a person called Cao Xiangyu. He’s the director of Cisco Electronics, and we’ll have a lot of business dealings with him in the future, so you have to familiarize yourself with the business as soon as possible. Otherwise, you won’t be able to carry out the follow-up work.”

“Got it, Teacher Lin.”

“If you have nothing else to do, you can go to Xiangyang Industrial Park to take a look around. Our Sci-TechElectronics and Cisco Electronics are both there. If you have nothing else to do, you can go there to scout out the area. I’ll prepare an office for you then.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll remember that.”

Lin Yi then told Wang Ran about the other things he needed to pay attention to. He even gave Wang Ran Lu Ying’s phone number.

He reminded her a few times about his identity, and only after Wang Ran remembered everything did he relax.

“Also, that Cao Xiangyu is an old hooligan. If he touches you, kick him in the crotch.”

Wang Ran’s face turned red. “Is-is that really a good idea…”

“What’s wrong with that? Just give it one shot.”

“Got it, Teacher Lin.”

Lin Yi nodded and wiped his mouth after finishing the bowl of noodles. “Alright, I’ve said what I needed to say. You can figure out the rest on your own.”

“Yes, yes.” Wang Ran bowed deeply to Lin Yi. “Teacher Lin, thank you for being so nice to me. I don’t even know how to repay you.”

“I’m giving you a salary for your help. Why’s there a need to repay me?”

“But it’s 500,000 yuan. Not a single person was willing to lend me that much money.”

“Am I not a person?”

“No, no, no, that’s not what I meant.” Wang Ran waved her hand. “Teacher Lin is a good person.”

“Alright, just continue to view me as a good person in your heart. I’m leaving now.”

“Okay, I’ll see you off, Teacher Lin.”

“No need. Just get back to your work.”

Lin Yi continued driving for Didi after leaving Wang Ran’s house.

He picked up four more orders by 4:30 pm. He drove another 60 kilometers before heading to Chaoyang Group to pick up Ji Qingyan from work.

Ring, Ring, Ring…

Lin Yi’s phone rang on the way there. It was He Yuanyuan calling.

“Boss, I checked out Fenglan Culture. It’s just as we expected. The legal owner, Cao Jingqiu, is the daughter of Cisco’s boss, Cao Jiadong.”

“What a coincidence.” Lin Yi smiled. “Do they have a strong intention to seek financing?”

“They haven’t shown any intention yet, so it’s hard to judge. You have to go and try to trick her yourself.”

“Fine, I’ll go meet her.”

“I don’t think you can wait any longer. Hehehe, what a scumbag.”

“If I’m a scumbag, then why didn’t I do anything to you? Shouldn’t you reflect on that?”

“I’m the one who didn’t give you a chance, okay?”

“Hehehe, whatever you say.”

He Yuanyuan, “…”

What’s with that sneer?!

Lin Yi drove to the parking lot after hanging up the phone, but he didn’t immediately go up.

This Cao Jingqiu seemed to be quite interesting.

At first, he theorized with Ji Qingyan that Cao Jingqiu might be poised to over a higher level of Cisco’s business. Otherwise, Cao Xiangyu wouldn’t be in such a hurry to prove himself.

However, at this juncture, Cao Jingqiu actually started her own company, and even started raising funds. This was very interesting.

She didn’t seem to be interested in Cisco’s business, or else she wouldn’t have done this.

It looked like he really had to meet this Cao Jingqiu.

Ring, Ring, Ring…

Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was from Ji Qingyan.

“Are you at the company?”

“I just arrived at the parking lot.”

“Then don’t come up. Tiantian and I are going down to look for you.”

“She hasn’t left yet?”

Lin Yi thought that Lu Tian would leave after visiting Ji Qingyan. He didn’t expect her to stay the whole day.

“We have an important mission tonight. I decided to give you a chance to come with us, considering your performance today.”

“Should I feel honored then?” Lin Yi asked.

“Of course.” Ji Qingyan said with a smile.

“Wait for me downstairs. I’ll be down soon.”

“Okay.”

In a few minutes, Ji Qingyan and Lu Tian walked out of the elevator arm in arm.

However, both of them were carrying bags in their hands, which looked like gift boxes.

“You did well today. You moved the most beautiful girl of Yan University to tears,” Lu Tian teased.

“What nonsense are you talking about? No he didn’t,” Ji Qingyan said.

“It’s just some roses. They’re not enough to move me.”

“Stop pretending. You’ve been smiling all day, yet you pretend you weren’t moved. If I were you, I would definitely reward him well tonight.”

“Then I’ll be forced to make him a meal when I have the time.”

“What kind of reward is that? It’s a waste of his effort.”

The reward Lu Tian was referring to was naturally different from what Ji Qingyan was referring to, but she didn’t understand what she meant.

“Alright, alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s go first.”

Ji Qingyan handed her car keys to Lin Yi. “Your car can only fit two people. Drive my car today. I’ll have to trouble you to be the driver.”

“It’ll be my pleasure.”

The three of them sat in Ji Qingyan’s Maserati. Lin Yi asked,

“Where are we going?”

“To the Golden Yuehue Palace. My teacher’s house is there. We have an appointment to visit him today.”

Lin Yi nodded. He understood why she and Lu Tian were carrying a gift box. They were going to visit their teacher.

“Didn’t you graduate from the Yan University? Your teacher should be in Yanjing, right?”

“Most of the teachers are from Yanjing, but my tutor’s family is in Zhonghai. She came back to live here after she retired. I visit her every year.”

“I see.”

“By the way, did Yuanyuan say when she was coming over?” Lu Tian asked in the car.

“She’s a little busy at the company, so she might be a little late. She told us not to wait for her, and that she’d go over after she’s done with her work,” Ji Qingyan said.

“He Yuanyuan’s coming too?” Lin Yi was surprised.

“She’s my junior sister and Teacher Zhang’s student. Of course she’s coming.”

Ji Qingyan didn’t use her relationship with Lin Yi to try to get He Yuanyuan off work early.

Work had to come first. This was a principle and a rule.

No matter the occasion, rules couldn’t be broken.

Lin Yi nodded and understood the situation. Then, he drove towards the Golden Yuehua Palace.

In Zhonghai, the Golden Yuehua Palace was considered a high-end residential housing area.

The average working class couldn’t afford to buy a house here.

However, a professor from Yan University was different.

He explained the purpose of their visit to the security guards when he arrived at Golden Yuehua Palace, and they soon let him through.

Following Ji Qingyan’s instructions, Lin Yi drove the car to her professor’s house.

At the entrance of the unit, Lin Yi saw three luxury cars worth millions parked there.

The cheapest one was a Mercedes-Benz G63 worth more than two million yuan, while the most expensive one was a Bentley, the same model as his own.

“These people are so fast. They actually got here ahead of us,” said Lu Tian.
