Starting from the Wizarding World

Chapter 84: Gray Tower No. 233, Wizard Apprentice Becomes!Chapter 84: Gray Tower No. , Wizard Apprentice Becomes!

”Are you referring to those wizard apprentices?” Rorschach didn’t beat around the bush with Depp and directly pointed out the question Depp really wanted to ask.

When Rorschach said the word wizard’s apprentice, only two people present looked a little confused.

One is Fang Guangzheng, and the other is naturally Bei Feng.

As for little David, he wasn’t listening at all and was just playing by himself.

”You really do know of their existence,” Depp said.

”Does Mr. Depp recognize them?” Rorschach asked.

”Why do you ask that?” Depp asked irrelevantly.

”Nothing, I just thought that since you are both wizard apprentices, maybe you know each other.” Rorschach said calmly.

When Depp heard this, he suddenly raised his head and looked at Rorschach!
Abel looked at Depp in astonishment and said, ”You are a wizard’s apprentice? How can you be a wizard’s apprentice...”

Just as Rorschach guessed, Abel didn’t know that Depp’s adoptive father was not only a Silver Pole, but also a wizard apprentice.

Even the concept of wizard apprentice was something Rorschach had only told him not long ago.

Before that, he had no idea that there was such a group of wizards, let alone that the wizarding world was so close to him.

Depp was very satisfied with Abel’s shock, and said with some pride, ”Why can’t I be a wizard’s apprentice? If a brat like you can advance to the third state, can’t an old man like me make a little progress?”

Seeing Depp’s smug look, Abel snorted coldly and did not cooperate with his pretentious behavior.

The old butler Peter, who was standing by, looked at Depp with a complicated expression and said, ”You actually succeeded... I admire you.”

Jin Kara was puzzled when he heard this and asked, ”But I heard from my father that it is impossible to become a wizard apprentice whether in the Blue Water Star or the Gray Region. It is only possible in the Gray Tower. How did you do it?”

”Of course it’s because I’m at the other end of the Gray Tower right now,” Depp said as a matter of course.

”But I heard that you have to be at least mid-level gold to safely travel to the [Gray Region], how come you...” Jin Kara hesitated to speak.

But it’s not hard to hear what he wants to express.

Depp certainly understood what Jin Kara said, but he didn’t feel that he was despised. Instead, he looked very pleased: ”I have my own way. Anyway, I got in and succeeded. I just want to ask you if you are convinced or not.”

”I admit it, I have to admit it!” Jin Kara gave a thumbs up.

After hearing the conversation between the two, Rorschach realized that the matter of the Gray Tower should no longer be a secret in the circle of top swappers. There are even swappers like Depp who have already entered the Gray Tower!
As for why Jin Kara, who is also a rookie swapper, could know these things, it naturally has something to do with his father, who is the current patriarch of the Rodrigo family and the president of the Demon Spirit Society.

In addition, from Jinkla’s previous words, Rorschach could summarize two very useful pieces of information.

One is that, under normal circumstances, only mid-level gold and above can safely go to the [Gray Tower], and Depp must have used a trick.

The second is that one can only become a wizard apprentice in the [Gray Tower]. Otherwise, it is not possible either in the Gray Region or the Blue Water Star.

This should be the conclusion reached by top replacement practitioners after many attempts.

Just like it is impossible to become a professional on the Blue Water Planet, no matter whether it is a Blood Knight, a Walk of the Gods, or a Phantom Servant, even if all the prerequisites are met, it is impossible to become one of them on the Blue Water Planet.

Otherwise, any swapper could establish a bloodline family on the Blue Water Planet by extracting his own blood on the Blue Water Planet.

Unfortunately, however, this approach is blocked.

This is also something that many replacers have tried countless times, and no one has ever succeeded. The success rate... zero!

From what Jin Kara said, there should be such restrictions for becoming a wizard apprentice, which is why there are almost no wizard apprentices in the Gray Zone.

Even if there is, it can only come from the [Gray Tower].

This also solved many of Rorschach’s previous doubts.

”Wait, why does this situation sound familiar...” Rorschach suddenly felt that this situation had a sense of déjà vu.

Soon, he remembered why he felt this way.

Because he once pulled Abel’s soul into purgatory, and there, if Abel chanted the God of Distortion and Bliss, the God of Pleasure could sense it clearly, and could even directly send down a ray of his will.

However, when the other party discovered that Abel was in purgatory, he suddenly became like a cat whose tail was stepped on, cursing and exploding that strand of will.

Afterwards, he even unilaterally blocked Abel, as if he had set a call rejection setting for Abel.

But Abel also said that whether in the Gray Domain or the Blue Water Star, it was difficult to sense the God of Distortion and Bliss, as if he was subject to some kind of restriction.

Can this be understood as a limitation caused by world rules?
The restrictions on the Blue Water Star are the greatest, so no matter what profession you want to enter, you cannot succeed. The restrictions in the Gray Domain are smaller, so you can become a Blood Knight, a Walk of the Gods, etc. in the Gray Domain, but you cannot become a wizard apprentice.

Only the [Grey Tower] can ignore this restriction, so one can become a wizard apprentice normally?

The more Rorschach thought about it, the more he felt that it was possible!
”No wonder there is a part of the Blood Prison Witch Code that was perfected by the True Prison Eye that has no effect no matter how I try. Could it be the part related to becoming a wizard’s apprentice?” Rorschach’s thoughts gradually became clear.

His cheap father Xiusi left him the Blood Prison Witch Codex: Blood Refining that he had practiced, but it did not contain any content other than the smelting of blood.

But the True Prison Eye has improved it once, not only enabling it to better absorb the Purgatory Source Blood, but also adding some additional content.

At that time, Rorschach didn’t know what those contents were, he just tried to practice them, but found that there was no response.

He thought it was Zhenyuzhitong who made a mistake.

Looking back now, it was probably not that Zhenyu Zhitong made a mistake, but that he simply did not understand what it was.

If Rorschach guessed correctly, those contents were probably the same as the Gray Tower Meditation, a spiritual secret technique that could allow one to become a wizard’s apprentice.

The reason why he did not succeed may be because he chose to try it in the gray area, and this may very well be the root cause of his failure!
After figuring this out, Rorschach had some ideas in mind and planned to make a few more attempts.

But the location will definitely not be the gray area anymore.

It’s not just the Gray Tower that can ignore the world’s restrictions.

”Does Lord Depp really recognize those wizard apprentices?” Rorschach returned to the previous topic.

”I can’t say I know them, I just know them.”

Depp shook his head and said, ”Don’t think I’m that powerful. Although I managed to sneak in, there are too many people of my level there. Even the middle-level golds here are nothing after entering. Only the upper-level golds have some status there.”

”So what kind of force is the Gray Tower?” Rorschach asked.

”It’s not a force,” Depp replied decisively.

”Isn’t it?” Rorschach was a little surprised by the answer.

”No.” Depp shook his head and confirmed again, ”Do you know what the name of the gray area is over there?”

”What’s his name?” Rorschach had no idea and naturally couldn’t guess.

”Gray Tower No. 233, abbreviated as ’233’. If I remember correctly, it should be called this, right?” Jin Kara on the side suddenly said.

”Your father really tells you everything.” Depp, whose answer was revealed in advance, looked at Jin Kara with some depression.

”Are you sure you are talking about the Gray Region, and not the Gray Tower itself?” Rorschach was still a little surprised by the answer.

It wasn’t that he lacked imagination, but based on the intelligence he had obtained before, he had deduced that the [Grey Tower] should clearly be a transcendent force, and the rulers of the [Grey Tower] were undoubtedly the group of terrifying professionals called wizards!

But now Depp and Jin Clark told him that the [Gray Tower] was not some independent transcendent force, and even the Gray Domain itself was just... a tower to the [Gray Tower]?

”I’m sure of that,” Depp replied affirmatively. ”In fact, you can regard the Gray Tower in the Gray Region as a transit station. Once you enter it, you will go to a big world called the ’Wizarding World’!”

”Over there, Gray Tower No. 233, which represents the Gray Region, is affiliated with a real wizard organization called ’Gray Tower Academy’. There are actually 360 gray towers in the academy. Gray Tower No. 233, which represents the Gray Region, is just one of them. It is a trial place for apprentices...”

Depp quickly told Rorschach about the Grey Tower Academy to which the Grey Domain belonged in the wizarding world, as well as some common sense about the wizarding world.

This extremely shocking information really shocked Rorschach, and he also understood why the wizard apprentice Jack always looked so superior.

When facing a group of natives in the trial land, even if one’s strength is not as good as theirs for the time being, one will still have an inexplicable sense of superiority. What’s more, one has the advantage in strength?

”If that’s the case, where did those middle- and upper-level golds who entered the Gray Tower from the Gray Region go after they passed through?” Rorschach asked.

”Of course they joined the Gray Tower Academy, including me.”

Depp said without hesitation, ”The royal families of the three empires and some large blood families all have relatives who are doing well in the Grey Tower Academy. After I came here, I found the seniors of the Titan royal family. It was because of their help that I was able to become a wizard apprentice so quickly.”

Depp’s answer this time did not surprise Rorschach, because it was similar to what he had guessed before.

Lindsay was not afraid of the wizard apprentice Jack at all, and even said that someone’s family had some connections there, which made Rorschach have a lot of speculations.

Combined with what Depp had said before about the Grey Tower Academy, Rorschach had already guessed that most of those who entered the Grey Tower from the Grey Region had also joined the Grey Tower Academy, and this was why Lindsay was not too afraid of Jack.

As one of the four original bloodline families of the Storm Empire, the Sphinx family has naturally not lacked middle-level or even upper-level golds in history. As for those members of the Sphinx family who entered the [Gray Tower], even if not all of them are doing well, it is enough as long as a small part of them are doing well.

After all, Jack is just a wizard apprentice equivalent to a mid-level gold level. He is not a big shot in the Grey Tower Academy, so there is no need to be too wary of him.

Of course, the premise of all this is that you are not afraid of the opponent in terms of strength.

”Can you go back to the Gray Region now?” Abel suddenly asked.

”Not yet. The qualification to enter these trial towers requires a certain amount of merit, and those below the mid-level wizard apprentice are not eligible to apply. And I’m only at the beginner level at the moment.” Depp shrugged.

”In other words, those wizard apprentices who appeared in the Mountain Capital are all mid-level wizard apprentices?” Rorschach asked.

”They are all those who have just entered the intermediate level. In terms of strength, they are probably about the same as ordinary middle-level gold, but they have more methods.” Depp introduced.

With the help of Depp, the ”stowaway”, Rorschach quickly gained a general understanding of the wizarding organization Gray Tower Academy, to which the Gray Realm belongs, as well as the wizarding world on the other side of the Gray Tower.

All we can say is that the water in that world is much, much deeper than Rorschach originally expected.

He still remembered that when he saw the wizard apprentice Jack, the hint of the True Prison Eyes was that he finally saw the tip of the iceberg of this world.

But at the time he thought they were talking about the gray area and didn’t think much about it.

Looking back now, this is really just the tip of the iceberg...

The huge Gray Domain is actually just the trial site of the Gray Tower Academy, and there are as many as 360 similar trial sites in the Gray Tower Academy!
This is really too shocking!

However, after learning about these situations, Rorschach couldn’t help but have other doubts.

For example, what roles do those evil gods play in the wizarding world, and why do the remnants of the evil gods like to call wizards enemies of the gods?

And the most important point is, what are the replacers, and why do they appear in the gray area after replacement?

Even Depp couldn’t answer these questions for Rorschach.

Because he doesn’t know either.

After all, he is just a novice wizard apprentice, and the information he can access is ultimately limited.

……

As the villa salon came to an end, except for Depp himself and Jin Carla, who was in the know, everyone else could not calm down for a long time.

Especially the scavenger duo, they felt like they had opened the door to a new world and learned secrets that most people would not know!

Rorschach calmed down relatively quickly, after all, he had faced a wizard head-on before.

Although at that time he didn’t understand what a wizard meant at all.

”Then, let’s try it.”

After all three groups of guests had left, Rorschach began his attempt without any hesitation, which had been decided before.

Not long after.

Rorschach’s will appeared alone in the Purgatory dimension.

In his mind, he began to recall the contents completed by the True Prison Eye, and slowly began to meditate and sense in the same way.

I don’t know how long it took, but Rorschach only felt that a ”spiritual seed” was born in his consciousness, which gave him an indescribable mysterious feeling!

He understood that he had succeeded!
The meditation induction that didn’t respond at all when I tried it in the Gray Domain last time, when I brought it to Purgatory, it produced different results as expected!

Luo Xia’s mind moved, and his consciousness returned to the villa again.

He immediately walked to a floor-length mirror and stared at himself:

”Name: Rorschach”

”Race: Humanity, Purgatory Knight, Wizard Apprentice”

”Ability: Blood Prison Witch Codex: Blood Refining (True Prison Version) Lv.2, Blood Prison Meditation Lv.1 (True Prison Version)”

”Hint 1: Congratulations on finding another path. Although I knew it a long time ago, who told you not to ask me? You can’t blame me for this.”

”Hint 2: In this world that belongs to wizards, people from other professions are overwhelmed. However, your path is destined to be different from others. You need to consider clearly what is more important.”

「Tip 3: Replacement is not accidental」

……

”Sure enough, I can already be considered a wizard apprentice.” Rorschach smiled when he saw the information about himself displayed in the True Prison Eyes.

Turns out, his guess was right.

The part that the True Prison Eyes complemented was indeed meditation, which was also a necessity for becoming a wizard apprentice.

He was not sure which one was better, the Blood Prison Meditation from the Blood Prison Witch Codex or the Gray Tower Meditation, but no matter which one was better, it was fine as long as it could be used.

He doesn’t have the Gray Tower Meditation Technique at all now, so there is no need to think about so many things, just do it!

”But according to Depp, I am now a wizard apprentice who has just crossed the threshold of the beginner level. Comparing his information with Jack, Lv.1 to Lv.3 should all be beginner wizard apprentices, and Lv.4 is a mid-level wizard apprentice, and can even challenge the mid-level gold apprentice directly.”

Rorschach, who has a rough assessment of his current situation, will naturally not get carried away.

Compared to the changes after the breakthrough that were of no use for the time being, Rorschach was more concerned about the second and third hints of the True Prison Eye.

The second tip is relatively easier to understand. It probably wants to remind him that the path of Purgatory Knight should not be easily given up, even if the wizard’s situation seems to be obviously more advanced.

The third tip is a bit more intriguing.

What does ’replacement is not accidental’ mean?
This sentence can be interpreted in many directions. For example, it is not accidental that a replacer appears on the Blue Water Planet, or it is not accidental that the location of the replacement is in the gray area.

No matter which one it is, there must be a deeper secret.

Rorschach still has a clear self-awareness, so he knows very well that this question is not something he should consider now.

……

a few days later.

The familiar mechanical prompt sound of the Spirit of Origin also sounded again.

After the countdown ended, Rorschach returned to the familiar backyard of the Bronze Bell Hotel and met Su Xueqi again, whom he hadn’t seen for some time.

”I heard from Abel that you participated in the internal promotion assessment of Gui Tuimo. How was the result?” Rorschach asked with a chuckle as soon as he returned.
