The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 842: The Endless Sword Domain

”I have an ice affinity, but the chill is seeping into my bones. Is that a different kind of ice qi?” Anna said, standing on the platform, gazing at Aoi, who was awakening her bloodline.

Queenie and Lucy were not feeling much better either.

”This is not ice qi; itʼs death qi... the one you earn from countless slaughter.” Queenie studied the aura coming from Aoi for a few minutes and immediately recognized it.

”Death aura? How is that even possible? The Aoi I knew doesnʼt even like killing monsters that much. She is only obsessed with sharpening her sword skills.”

Lucy was shaken to hear that Aoi, the same innocent, sword-loving Aoi, has death qi. She never expected her to be that dangerous, and this scared her for some reason.

”She most definitely has death qi.”

Aoi remained in her meditative state, the two swords hovering over her like a halo. Around her, however, was a feeling that you would experience if you were within its reach.

This feeling was dreadful, almost like standing inside a butcherʼs house.

This begs the question of how someone as gentle and elegant as Aoi could awaken a domain of slaughter, and it isnʼt any ordinary domain of slaughter; it is the endless sword domain of slaughter.

To understand this shocking phenomenon, we have to travel back to the primordial era and ask around about the lady who lived in the mountains.

During the primordial era, when powerhouses were rising and falling, everyone wanted to chase after the next best skill, the next most powerful spell, and the heaven-shattering techniques.

It was said that although the universe indeed spawns treasures occasionally, the primordial era was the time it spawned many treasures. So many were chasing after such treasures.

However, there was one lady who, regardless of how alluring these treasures were, never even flinched. She was only about her sword and sword alone.

When asked why she never wanted the skills given by the universe, she responded simply, ”I can create my own skills.”

Thus, many tended to tease her, calling her the skill creator. However, one day, when everyone woke up, she was gone, leaving not even a slight trace of her existence. Nobody knew where she went.

Years went by, and eventually, her name and even how she looked vanished from everyoneʼs sight and mind. Her name vanished, along with every memory everyone had of her.

Thousands of years passed, and nobody even realized there once was a person whose nickname was the Skill Creator.

However, one day, out of nowhere, a golden light came from a mountain millions of miles deep in the Nightless Forest—a strange forest that never knew night.

It was always daytime there, and the forest was filled with millions of powerful primordial beasts. Nobody dares traverse the depths of this inhospitable forest. However, when the golden light came, they thought a celestial-grade treasure had appeared.

So they went, traversing this torturous forest. Many have died, but many also managed to reach the mountain. However, the light was gone upon reaching there, and only a person sat there, meditating.

Those who made it to this mountain assumed she had taken the treasure, so they attacked, not even bothering to ask any questions.

If they had asked, they would have found out that she had just merged her immortal Qi with her sword Qi, creating a one-of-a-kind mutation.

They would also have discovered that she was in the process of merging her mind, soul, sword realm, and sword intent when they arrived.

But they didnʼt, and so they attacked, and she also responded to their attack.

It was just a quick pull of her sword.

However, those who saw it from a distance and managed to survive were amazed. They saw a brilliant light that looked incredibly beautiful come from her sword, instantly reducing hundreds of thousands of immortals to blood mist.

This sight sent chills down many spines. But a foolish person never knows when to hold back their greed and accept defeat.

Instead, many started going against her—renounced swordsmen, powerful mages, incredibly strong divine beasts, and mighty dragons. They all wanted the treasure that never existed.

However, they all fell to her sword.

Eventually, gods even came, but none managed to force her to stand or look them in the eye. She just sat there, and all those who attacked were defeated with a single swing of her sword.

That was how the legend of the Lady who lives in the mountains was born.

Eventually, they stopped coming, but they remained at a safe distance, watching her. They could only wonder when that mighty swordsman would come and defeat her.

Aoi sat on the ground, unmoving, while the two swords hovered. Then suddenly, the two swords moved and slashed randomly into the sky.

It was a single, quick slash, but the moment the two swords swung, the void was torn, and from within the void, a big red-covered book appeared and fell into Aoiʼs waiting hands.

Then, countless lights immediately formed in the sky and turned into swords, dancing around, creating a beautiful yet overwhelming display.

That is the Endless Sword Domain of Slaughter. Itʼs a domain where swords will never stop moving as long as Aoi continues to breathe.

This domain was created when she clashed with the 1st Paragon. The battle lasted 100 days, destroyed the entire Nightless Forest, and only ended when the domain was created.

It was thanks to the 100 days of battle and the countless number of people she had killed that finally added the missing ingredients for the domain - The Endless Sword Domain of Slaughter.

It was a mesmerizing display that only appeared once. After the awakening, nobody saw it again. Just like how she vanished at first, she did again, but this time, the legend of the Lady who lives in the mountains never died.

The legend lived on, and even after billions of years, her legend is still alive.

Aoi remained in her meditative posture for three good weeks. During that time, Kathy, Nadia, and Miriam, who, like Nari, also used the Star Monarchʼs blood to temper their bodies, came out of seclusion.

The overlords and grand elders, who also received Klausʼs blood, experienced tribulation, with every last one becoming a Void stage being.

Even Klausʼs uncles and the instructors, including Old Lu, came out of seclusion. They are all Void stage beings.

Everyone came out, except Hanna and Ohema, who were also nearing their awakening stage. However, everyone who came out stayed and could only watch the display of the endless swords in amazement.

The sky is filled with countless swords.
