The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 661: Klaus Vs Everyone (4)

”Skybound Bow Arc!” Hanna commanded from up in the air as the heavens roared with thunder dancing through the storm clouds. ”Devastating Exploding Arrow!”

A thick, three-meter-long arrow made of lightning shot from her bow aimed right at Klaus, who suddenly felt a sense of danger for the first time since the start of the battle.

He tried to move, but then he felt the ground give way, and his legs sank into it as the ground turned to metal around him.

The Zhou twins acted precisely as they practiced.

”Oh shit,” Klaus muttered, then his body froze when he came face to face with Kilian, who now had a tall, dark figure standing behind him, pointing a sword at him.

”Rain of Swords!” Aoi slashed down at the same time, and then a giant axe arrived from behind him, along with a tall spear and countless sword arcs and wind arcs.

Klaus, who was now locked in place and about to be overwhelmed, smiled.

The attacks were well coordinated and aimed at him with purpose. However, he was worried. He raised his finger and snapped.

”WHAT?”

There was no explosion, no shockwaves.

Nothing happened. Instead, the attacks that were coming toward him entered a dark gold mist, and that was all. None landed on his body.

The sword arcs, the countless sword manifestations, the wind arcs, the spear manifestation- everything just snapped away like they were nothing.

Only the metal ground remained, but the rest of the attacks were simply canceled.

All around the battlefield, his friends wore shocked expressions as their well-prepared attacks were neutralized just like that.

Even the overlords held shocked expressions on their faces.

”What just happened?” Overlord Mira asked, looking in Queenieʼs direction.

Your journey continues with

However, when she saw that Queenie was equally puzzled, she was taken aback, so she turned to Old Lu. Queenie was also staring at the monk.

So she turned to the dean, who was smiling like someone who had seen a ghost.

”That, ladies and gentlemen, is the most disturbing ice you will ever encounter. Do you see the dark gold mist around him? It has the ability to devour anything.

When I say anything, I mean *anything*—ranging from attacks to auras emanating from those several times stronger than him.

Of course, if the attack is more than he can handle, he wouldnʼt be able to devour it. But attacks from those he is stronger than can easily be consumed.

And as you all know, Klaus is already at your level, so imagine that and think about just how monstrous that is,” Old Lu explained with a smile.

”Just how strong can one person become?” Overlord Mira muttered.

”This is good then; at least he is not our enemy, meaning we have a powerful ally on our side,” Overlord Dharma said, smiling.

The others also smiled, knowing what he said was indeed true. Klaus is an enemy they cannot afford to have. So having him as an ally is very good for all of them.

Back on the battlefield, Klausʼs friends, who had spent weeks inside forbidden zones training and creating attack patterns, stared at Klaus, who was still rooted to the ground by the Zhou twins.

They had turned the ground into metal when Anna sank his legs using her water element.

Klaus was smiling at them as he gently tapped the ground, and the metal was devoured, causing the twins to look at him like he was some kind of monster.

”Bravo, guys, you have created a really powerful attack pattern that can easily kill even a level 3 Ascendant, but I am not someone you can hurt with such puny attacks.

I know you all are afraid of hurting me, but you donʼt have to worry. If you are not okay with attacking me, then know that this is also a clone I made using my illusion.

This means you can kill this body,” Klaus said, causing his friends to narrow their eyes at him. They were holding back their attacks because he might get hurt for real.

But hearing this was also an illusion; it wasnʼt something they had seen coming. In their mind, this was the real deal.

Naturally, they turned toward the lady who was able to distinguish the real from the fake.

”He is telling the truth. The real Klaus is sitting over there,” Kathy said, pointing in a certain direction.

When they turned and looked, they saw Klaus sitting with his legs crossed, biting into an apple. He waved at them when they met his gaze.

”What the fuck?” Danny shouted. ”So youʼre all telling me all this while, we were only fighting an illusion?”

”Yes. I wanted to tell you guys earlier, but your emotions were in turmoil, so I held back. Now, you know, meaning you can kill him now without worry,” Kathy said, smiling.

She wanted to join, but she also didnʼt want to take the moment from the ladies and guys. She saw how hard they trained to create these combined attacks.

They wanted to be able to surprise Klaus with it, so they trained, and for a while, they made many mistakes until they mastered it.

However, now...

”This is heartbreaking,” Anna sighed. ”To think after months of training, we couldnʼt even handle an illusion.”

She shook her head and bowed it. She was broken from the realisation that they underestimated their opponent in order to make themselves feel good.

”No need to look dejected, Anna. I just went through much more intense training than you guys, which is why I am this monstrous.

But fear not, I will turn you ladies and gents into monsters soon.”

”But still, we should at least be able to handle a mere clone. Fuck, youʼre not even using any attacks on us. Youʼre just defending. Shouldnʼt we at least be able to do something?”

”Nia already killed me once, so you won a round already,” Klaus said, trying to lift their spirits. However, they were still defeated, considering some of them hadnʼt even gotten to attack yet.

Lucy made sure they created five different attack patterns while they were on their missions during Klausʼs absence.

This meant they had devised five killer moves that could put an Overlord in a tight spot.

However, from the way things were going, they were just going to wipe those patterns from their minds and rethink their approach.

Klaus had already seen a lot of flaws in their attacks, which he planned to correct later. But they were too defeated to even consider winning against him now that he had seen most of their skills and techniques.

”Come on, guys. I didnʼt battle eight Overlord-level demons at the same time only to lose to you guys. So please stop whining and come up with something that—”

Klaus was about to finish his sentence when a figure moved past him, and a smile appeared on his lips.

ʼAxel.ʼ

Mason moved past him, but the next second, he was behind him. Klaus turned and blocked his attack. But then, a smile appeared on Masonʼs face. He lost his footing for a moment there.

Masonʼs attack brought back past memories.

Klaus, who was chewing on an apple about a hundred meters away, smirked when he saw Aoi cut off his head.
