The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 657: Spar with Friends (2)

Nia and Lucy started their battle again, only this time, Lucy was paying attention to Niaʼs shadow. This caused Klaus to smile slightly, wondering just how Lucy would manage this time around.

He then focused his attention on the battle between Hanna and her beast companion, Kathy.

Kathy was simply walking while Hanna tried to defeat her using her arrows. One had to say that Kathy was just playing with her, as despite the numerous arrows she fired, none were able to harm her.

”This is really a bad idea,” Hanna said. ”You are too monstrous, Kathy,” she added, making the Divine Beast smile at her words.

”You wanted to see what itʼs like to fight an Ascendant, so I am making it happen,” Kathy said as she moved aside, evading a lightning bolt.

”Maybe I should break through first before I can handle you,” Hanna said, giving herself an excuse. But she knew deep down that until she and Kathy were on the same level, the idea of defeating her was zero.

Kathy is now a Divine Beast and an Ascendent, so thinking about defeating her is just too far-fetched.

”Then listen to your brother and train much harder. I have a feeling that when you awaken your sealed heavenly body constitution and bloodline, you will become much more monstrous, too,” Kathy, being a good friend and sister, chose to encourage her.

Klaus would have probably said something shameless along the lines of, ”I donʼt know about defeating me, but after a few thousand years of training, you can finally scratch my back.”

But Kathy said the words she wanted to hear, and so they continued their spar.

On another side, Kilian and Mark were going at it heavily. Mark was moving very fast, thanks to his affinity for the wind element.

He was attacking with his spear while Kilian, who was exuding dark flame energy, countered his moves with practical ease.

”Kilian, when did you become this monstrous again? Yesterday when we sparred, you werenʼt this monstrous,” Mark said, getting sent flying back by Kilian.

”I have gotten hold of yet another aspect of my flame, so I can finally use it more actively. Right now, I am using it to enhance my speed and stamina.

As for strength, I guess I am just stronger than you,” Kilian replied, causing Mark to smirk and lunge at him again.

On the other side, Markʼs girlfriends, the Zhou twins, are facing Daniels, Kilian, Kay, and Dannyʼs girlfriends in a two-against-four kind of setting.

The twins, Ling and Zing, have become something akin to twin dangers. Initially, they were all about defense, thanks to their Earth element affinity.

However, after their class upgraded and allowed them to now use the metal element, Ling became an offensive type of warrior while her sister focused on defense.

This elevated their combat abilities to the next level. And thanks to the techniques Klaus gave them, they are now very monstrous.

Facing them was Scarlet, who is an ice mage. Kilian had ensured she never slacked off, especially after he awakened his fire element.

So Scarlet is now capable of fighting a Great Sage and perhaps holding her own against even a Sovereign.

Linda, Kayʼs girlfriend, has also become powerful. Just like Kay, who has a fire affinity, she is also a fire mage and very good at controlling the flames.

In fact, she is exceptionally good at controlling the flame. She is even helping Kay gain more control over his flame, which has helped him develop much faster.

On the other hand, Vida, Danielsʼs girlfriend, was rather sneaky, as Klaus observed. She is an assassin, and from the way she moved, one could say she had done her fair share of killing.

She is showing her experience side.

In fact, among Klausʼs friends and women, only she has taken a life. She had killed her fair share of humans.

She lost her family before she awakened.

A bunch of scum murdered them. So when she awakened and realized she had the assassin class, she made sure those scums never saw the light of day again.

The last person was Yasmin, the healer of the team. She was at the back, casting buffs on her teammates as they battled the danger twins.

”Itʼs good to see they are also growing alongside their men,” Klaus thought with a smile, then focused his attention on Kay and Mason, who were clashing like long-time enemies.

Perhaps their attacks werenʼt friendly at all.

Mason was introduced to the team just a few hours ago, and when they all had the chance to spar, Kay opted to fight him.

He was firing arrow after arrow at the spearman, who was also unleashing wind arcs and spear attacks at Kay.

They were really aiming to hurt each other. Some of it, Klaus found funny.

He knew that if it came down to it, Kay would solo Mason, but he also knew that if Mason remembered his past and awakened his bloodline, he would be able to kill Kay before he even knew how it had happened.

Of course, he did not yet know how his friends connected to his past, but from what he knew now, Mason was the most dangerous among all his male friends, even more dangerous than Kilian.

Again, this was from the memories he had at the moment. He had fought many battles with Mason, so he knew what he was capable of.

”His movements are rusty and weak. I have to change that, or else he will become a weakling even after he awakens his bloodline.” Read new chapters at

Klaus continued to watch their duel, which was supposed to be just a spar for a few more minutes, before shifting his attention to the two ladies, who had a rather large section of the training ground to themselves.

Aoi and Lulu.

Aoi was on the ground, moving, parrying, and evading projectiles that aimed to claim her life. Every parry created shockwaves that spread across the battlefield as if it were the most normal thing to witness.

She was doing her best to beat Lulu, who was just in the air, using her hands to control dozens of spirit weapons to attack her sister, who was holding herself back from using any of her techniques.

If Aoi were to unleash her strength, Lulu would be suffocated and drowned in an extremely potent sword intent.

Among Klausʼs ladies enrolled in the academy, she was the most dangerous and yet the most harmless.
