Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 161 Ayou’s changesEarly the next morning, when Lu Yinning learned about Russell’s attack, he was shocked. He grabbed him and looked around. After repeatedly confirming that he was not injured, he cried and ran to prepare his own special ”nutrition package.”

After receiving the news, Feiyi Shipping Company immediately proposed to equip the Chongwu with a batch of advanced monitoring equipment with infrared and energy scanning functions.

The Senluo City Beast Control Alliance and the Senluo Clothing Company have also expressed strong condemnation of the actions of the Fire Pirates and stated that they can provide help within their capabilities.

For example, setting up a new security post near the Chongwu House, sponsoring security mechanical pets, etc.

Regarding the kindness of major partners, Russell naturally accepted all orders.

As an insect company with many exclusive and high-quality products, the insect house is developing well, and the benefits to them far exceed these one-time investments.

A few days later, many batches of sponsorship materials were delivered one after another. Suddenly, there were many mechanical beasts coming and going in the Imperial Insect House area, and surveillance cameras were installed in almost every room and corner.

Presumably, when ordinary criminals see this kind of battle, most of them will turn around and leave immediately.

However, when Dr. Natsuki visited Russell at the Insect House, he also gave him some security and defense suggestions.

From the perspective of a cutting-edge scientific researcher, Dr. Natsuki analyzed in detail the various advantages of mechanical beasts.

For example, you can gain absolute loyalty without a contract, your skills are more specialized than most wild beasts, and you can automatically recharge without having to worry about feeding them, etc.

From a certain perspective, mechanical beasts are also the most adaptable to the environment, because they do not need to breathe and can withstand a series of environments such as high temperature, low temperature, high pressure or vacuum according to changes in materials.

In conventional wisdom, even a tenth-level pet beast cannot fly into the void at will, but a purple-gold-level artificial satellite cloud can travel in space.

These are the reasons why mechanical pet beasts can develop and grow.

However, Dr. Natsuki also pointed out to Russell a fatal weakness of mechanical beasts, that is, they are extremely easy to target after their model structure is cracked.

Especially low-level mechanical beasts, as long as they are exposed to energy fluctuations of a certain frequency, or are implanted with viruses, they may be paralyzed in large numbers.

Therefore, relying entirely on the protection mode provided by technological equipment and mechanical pets, if you cannot regularly replace the latest models of mechanical products, it is actually easier for people to take advantage of loopholes.

However, the latest cutting-edge technology products are often very expensive. Even large companies like Flying Wing Shipping cannot afford to update and iterate at the first time. Naturally, Russell does not have the spare money.

Because of this, in the world of beast control, which is also highly technologically advanced, the artificial security and patrol industry still has a broad market.

After a conversation, Russell also understood the implication of Dr. Xiamu’s words, which was to suggest that he cultivate some insect-type protective pets for his own use.

Upon reflection, this is indeed a very pertinent suggestion.

As long as the domestically bred pet beasts are not publicly sold in large quantities, it is generally difficult for outsiders to know their race and detailed abilities.

The human body is relatively fragile, and the ambush of an intermediate pet beast is enough to threaten the life of a high-level beast master.

If you can tame a group of protective beasts hiding in the dark in the insect house, they will definitely suffer a big loss next time they encounter such lawless intruders.

When it comes to insect-type pets that are good at ambushes and can severely damage enemies with one blow, Russell thinks that spiders that can weave webs and are generally poisonous are very good.

Speaking of which, the pink velvet spiders that can unconsciously make people fall into hallucinations meet the requirements of caring for homes and homes.

However, they are now one of the main sources of income for the Imperial Insect House, so it is a bit wasteful to use them all for security.

Moreover, the spider webs in the secret realm of the ”Dream Weaver’s Nest” have been accumulated for countless years. From now on, if the pink velvet spiders are asked to weave webs in the Imperial Insect House, they will definitely not be that thick.

Without the support of a large area of spider webs, the attack power of the pink velvet spider family will be greatly reduced. They can only induce hallucinations, but lack the means to kill.

To form a complete system of control and killing, Russell had to choose another pet that could coexist with the pink velvet spider and cooperate with each other.

However, this matter has to be put back a little bit, because Russell has more important things to do at the moment.

Ayou has been eating and drinking well to replenish his energy some time ago. He has also experienced gym battles and fights with the shadow of death. His growth progress has improved a lot and he has reached the edge of evolution.

Realizing that Ayou was about to undergo another round of transformation, Russell carefully checked its information.

”UFO Hawkmoth

Attributes: insect, ghost

Bloodline Level: Gold
Life energy level: Level

Skills: Dark Scale Powder, Seam Shadow Arrow, Nightmare Butterfly Shadow, Netherworld Explosion, Lord’s Posture (Level ), Elementary Night Field

Growth progress: 81%

Among them, insect energy accounts for 38%, ghost energy accounts for 29%, and spiritual energy accounts for 14%.
Ability development:

Ethereal power (not yet unlocked, energy disintegration proficiency 20%)

Body transformation:

Velvet enhancement has been completed

Controllable spiritual transformation (there is a chance of awakening during the next evolution, the current success rate is 10%,)

The ability to become slightly spiritual has been unlocked. Every day spent maintaining the spiritual state, the maximum degree of spiritual transformation and the success rate of awakening will increase by 5%.”

Ayou has recently eaten a lot of intermediate-level and above cultivation materials, and her growth progress has been close to the evolutionary threshold. This is expected.

What makes Russell happy is that it has awakened a new body transformation.

The so-called spiritual transformation is an ability that many pure ghost beasts have.

Ayou suddenly began to awaken this ability. In addition to being a ghost beast, it should have something to do with being in contact with the almost 100% spiritual shadow of death.

To put it simply, the body is basically composed of negative energy and mental abilities. It has a high immunity to physical attacks, but is more afraid of energy attacks and light-based attacks.

Under normal circumstances, turning into a spirit can only be said to be a state with advantages and disadvantages. After all, while increasing physical immunity and reducing magic resistance, it will become a big squishiness when facing legal opponents.

However, controllable spiritual transformation does not have this shortcoming.

The word ”controllable” is added in front of the ability, which naturally means that you can choose the degree and timing of spiritual transformation.

One is passive and the other is flexible. The two are worlds apart.

Moreover, the physical phantom created by Nightmare Butterfly Shadow can inherit all the characteristics of the original body. The phantom is superimposed and transformed into a spiritual body. Ayou’s dodge ability will reach a very abnormal level.

As for the requirement of maintaining the spiritual state, it can be easily achieved if sufficient ghost cultivation materials are supplied.Calculated according to the daily progress of 5.00%, Ayou will usher in the ideal opportunity to evolve in eighteen days.

In addition, Xiao Qi, who performed very bravely against the shadow priest, also initially understood a new skill with the help of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent.

”Dead Leaf Clothes Worm
Skills: Miracle Slime, Reveal, Resistant Body

Ability development:

Quick recovery (not yet understood, trauma self-healing proficiency 79%)

Adaptive shield (not yet understood, energy absorption proficiency 20%, energy adaptation proficiency 30%)”

This passive defense skill called ”Adaptive Shield” has the effect of continuously stacking resistance when subjected to multiple attacks of the same attribute or similar abnormal effects, effectively reducing subsequent attack damage.

This effect sounds powerful, but in actual combat it has many limitations and is not actually a generally applicable excellent defensive passive.

Because the premise for the adaptive shield to take effect is to be attacked, and being attacked can be divided into two situations: direct physical resistance, and the use of defensive skills.

If you use a defensive skill to withstand an attack, the resistance stacking effect of the adaptive shield will be reset when the skill duration expires or is completely broken.

If you directly bear the attack with your physical body, the resistance stack can last stably for the entire battle. However, if you receive a severe beating first in a battle of the same level, it is easy to fall into an irreversible disadvantage.

After all, many mature pet beasts will learn several attack skills with different attributes.

Even if the power of this skill is not weakened when used, it is enough to defeat already scarred opponents most of the time.

Generally speaking, only a few pet beasts that are extremely thick-skinned or can activate defensive skills for a long time can fully utilize the effect of the adaptive shield.

In Russell’s impression, adaptive shields are the main focus in the platinum level, and there are only two pet beasts with a certain degree of popularity.

One is an earth sleeping bear with a powerful talent skill ”Thick Fat”, and the other is a rock element whose talent skill is equivalent to a permanent hardened state.

Most pet beasts that are not physically strong enough and cannot always activate defensive skills in order to save energy are actually not very compatible with adaptive shields.

The mucus shield is a physical defense method. When there is enough mucus, Xiaoqi can repeatedly repair the damaged shield.

In other words, as long as it is not completely broken or lifted by itself, this shield will always exist.

It can also be seen from the battle with Death Shadow that the slime shield can trigger the resistance stacking effect of the adaptive shield.

It does not need to take damage, and there is no duration limit, because a considerable part of its defense power comes from external materials, and its own energy consumption is also low.

These features are superimposed together, and the Miracle Slime skill and the adaptive shield can be said to be a perfect fit.

The reason why I have never heard of this combo skill is probably because no dead leaf cloakworm has ever learned this skill...

If the Shadow Priest had known that his sneak attack had turned into a door-to-door experience delivery, not only would he get a bad taste in his mouth, but Russell’s two pet beasts would also learn very powerful skills, he would probably faint on the spot.

…………

Thinking that the Southern Principality Beast Control Alliance would march into the Black Dew Forest soon, and would probably invite him to accompany them, Russell made every effort to prepare for Ayou’s evolution.

Although this operation is quite risky, with a group of high-level beastmasters accompanying him, the main force of the Fire Stealing Group will definitely not come after him.

If you can officially own two gold-level battle beasts at the early stage of the fourth level, plus a third-level platinum-level pet beast that has not yet been contracted, but has a high favorability and can take on the task of protection, you can fight against ordinary members of the Fire Stealing Group. There shouldn’t be much danger.

Even if we don’t consider the matter of fighting in the wild, Ayou’s evolution cannot be delayed any longer.

It had previously failed to control the Iron Chrysalis Silkworms with its third-level strength, but those Iron Chrysalis Silkworms were not completely dismissive, but expressed a certain amount of admiration.

This means that as long as Ayou’s strength further improves, he will be able to complete this cross-racial rule sooner or later.

It would be a pity to leave thousands of potential clan members without being included in the clan.

After all, that is the source of Bai Huahua’s evolution!

Not to mention Ayou himself, who is eager to evolve quickly and even the gap with Daolang.

Therefore, after hearing that maintaining a spiritual body can help evolution, Ayou maintained the spiritual state non-stop.

Fortunately, the slight transformation into a spiritual body does not consume much energy. It relies on the energy supplemented by eating a large amount of ghost cultivation materials, as well as the recovery and strengthening effect brought by spiritual cultivation, which is enough to maintain it 24 hours a day.

After maintaining the spirit form for a week, Ayou’s wings showed a clear trend of energy transformation.

Seeing its edges gradually blurring, looking like wings of a drifting black mist, Russell suddenly thought of a purple-gold pet beast that was also a ghost and insect type - the Underworld Moth.

This kind of pet beast is extremely rare. There is no information at all on ordinary online platforms. Russell has only seen it in the internal information of the research institute.

It is rumored that the underworld moth is only born in places where a large number of pet beasts die. Because it absorbs the strong aura of death and negative energy, it is born with nether toxins that are extremely fatal to all living things.

This toxin is a composite toxin with dual attributes of poison and ghost, and its effect is extremely difficult to deal with.

A target eroded by the Nether Toxin will lose vitality at a gradually increasing rate until it turns into a shriveled corpse.

Assuming that Ayou’s next stage of evolution is to grow into an underworld moth, Russell’s conclusion is: he is quite satisfied!
Evolving according to the established route does not mean that you will become mediocre.

Evolving into a new race like Daolang may awaken some new and rare abilities, but it is actually somewhat risky.

Although there is a ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent guarantee, even if the results of an evolution are unsatisfactory, there are still opportunities to make amends in the future.

However, the evolutionary opportunities brought by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent do not come every day. As the level of the pet increases, the time span for each subsequent advancement will become longer and longer.

The number of contracted beasts is limited. If the main pet beast transforms when it evolves, it will not be able to fight normally for a year and a half, and the impact on Russell will be considerable.

At least, the plan to challenge the subsequent gyms and beast control halls will have to be postponed.

The Underworld Moth is also a long-range energy attack pet beast. It is similar to Ayou in many aspects. It can be regarded as a superior race of UFO Hawkmoth.

Evolving in this direction is not far-fetched and does not require sacrificing existing capabilities.

Of course, Russell also knew that it would be a fantasy for Ayou, who was currently only at the gold level, to evolve into a purple-gold level beast at once.

The goal of this advancement is to fully awaken the ability to transform into a spiritual body, and then add a little bit of poisonous energy to pave the way. (End of chapter)
