Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 32Chapter 32
With phased goals in mind, Russell’s life has entered a mode of steady cultivation and exercise every day, and then sleeping and playing with his mobile phone.

Unfortunately, these abilities can only take effect after the plush enhancement is officially awakened. The short few days of rest between the semi-finals and the finals of the rookie group competition are not enough for Ayou to accumulate the growth progress to the full value.

Five days later in the morning, Russell stood in the finals as scheduled.

”Welcome to the newcomer group finals. With our common expectations, Russell from the Royal Insect House and his insect beast are moving forward. Today, he will compete with Li Moxin from the Senluo City Breeding Research Institute for the championship honor. This quarter Let’s wait and see who will win the rookie championship!”

Under the spotlight of the arena, Lindsay was as enthusiastic as ever.

Since there are very few professional beastmasters carrying insect-type beasts, and Russell is also a member of the entire team’s insect-type, driven by the curiosity of the audience, his support rate has been rising and he has become a very popular newcomer in recent events. .

Russell, who had never been in the news media in his previous life, would occasionally feel a little embarrassed when he came across his own game news briefs online.

”Players from both sides are invited to come forward and jointly select today’s competition format!”

This time, after finishing his opening remarks, Lindsay did not rush back to the commentary box. Instead, he waved his hand and pointed at the electronic screens and buttons at both ends of the field.

In order to increase the enjoyment of the event, the finals adopt a random competition system, requiring contestants to choose from alternative singles, wheel singles, and doubles on the spot.

When the competition format was drawn, Russell noticed that his opponent was a girl wearing glasses and looking polite.

This girl looked like a high-quality player at first glance. The look she looked at Russell was not contemptuous or hostile like the previous opponents. Instead, she smiled politely and nodded.

The two pressed the button, and the content on the screen continued to scroll, finally settling on the words ”Double Battle”.

Doubles battle, as the name suggests, is to send out two pet beasts at the same time to fight until one party loses the ability to fight.

After confirming the competition format, Russell and Li Moxin returned to both sides of the field, waiting for the countdown to begin.

Taking advantage of the protective force field rising, Russell casually glanced at the audience, but unexpectedly saw a familiar figure in the front row.

With a neat ponytail and wearing a research uniform, he was none other than Researcher Li Moran whom he would see every now and then.

Seeing her, Russell suddenly realized, Li Moran...Li Moxin, they can’t be sisters, right?
Researcher Li Moran takes good care of himself. Not only does he always leave a batch of dungeon grass waiting for Russell to collect, but he also helps him apply for cultivation project subsidies. He is really very conscientious.

Russell felt slightly guilty about having to hit her sister hard now.

However, the Beast Taming Alliance is extremely rich, and the prizes in the semi-finals are so generous. It is said that the reward for winning the championship may be the fruit of the ”Sun Tree”, the sacred tree of the Southern Principality, which will greatly improve the pet beasts. In a real fight, he still won’t know how to do it. Soft-handed.

…………

After walking for a while, the game had begun. Russell and Li Moxin quickly summoned their two pet beasts.

The pet beasts sent by Li Moxin were the silver-level wet moss turtle of the water type and the gold-level thunder cloud element of the thunder type. This combination made Russell frown.

The Wet Moss Turtle’s racial talent is called ”Moist Water Vapor”. The power of water skills will be slightly improved, and the duration will be greatly extended when rainfall skills are turned on.

The thunder skills of the thunder cloud element will have a certain locking effect in humid environments, and the damage to targets whose bodies are soaked by rain will be significantly increased.

This kind of doubles lineup that can cooperate with each other is undoubtedly much better than Ayou and Daodao Mantis fighting on their own.

Moreover, Li Moxin’s thundercloud element looks solid in form, with lightning flashing from time to time between its body composed of dark blue clouds. It seems that it has been cultivated quite well. The life energy level may have reached the mid-to-late third level. .Next, Russell and the two pet beasts will most likely face a tough battle!
Sure enough, when the battle officially started, the first order Li Moxin gave to the wet moss turtle was to activate the rainy weather skill.

Her cute turtle, covered with dark green moss, was glowing with blue. The dense water energy instantly rose, and several rain clouds condensed over the arena. As the rain clouds formed, large raindrops appeared. It soon fell in a steady trickle.

Immediately afterwards, the thunder cloud element waved its two palms with flashing lightning, and threw out several dazzling electric currents at Ayou and Daodao Mantis.

This is exactly Thunder Cloud Element’s signature skill, Lightning Whip.

The damage of the lightning whip is not low, and it also has a certain paralysis effect. If you are hit once, you are likely to become sluggish and face a series of subsequent combos.

”Ayou, use the butterfly shadow to delay time. Daodao Mantis, find an opportunity to get around the wet moss turtle!”

Faced with Li Moxin’s fierce attack, Russell also responded immediately.

After cultivating the spiritual system during this period, Ayou’s energy limit has increased a lot. It is not a problem to use Butterfly Shadow more than ten times in a row. Russell plans to let it use its flying advantage to attract the firepower of the thunder cloud element and help Da Dao Mantis escape from wetness. A breakthrough was found in the Moss Turtle.

After all, wet moss turtles that take the auxiliary route usually do not learn powerful attack skills. After being approached by the Great Sword Mantis, it is difficult for the Thunder Cloud Elemental, as a pure damage dealer, to protect it.

If the rainfall skill can be interrupted, with Ayou’s current strength, he can directly fight with the thundercloud elements from a distance.

However, Russell knew the strategic position of the rain skill. As a tactical user, Li Moxin naturally knew better. How could the wet moss turtle be easily exposed to the enemy’s attack.

As soon as the Dao Dao Mantis started to circle around, Li Moxin was immediately alert, commanding the thunder cloud element to turn the gun head, and continuously waved the lightning whip to drive it away.

During this process, Daodao Mantis was unable to dodge and was struck by the lightning whip. Half of his body was immediately paralyzed and he almost fell to the slippery ground.

However, when Li Moxin asked the Thunder Cloud Elemental to protect the wet moss turtle, Russell was not idle. Seeing that the Broadsword Mantis was in crisis, he quickly commanded Ayou to provide long-range fire cover for it.

Om-!
Before the Thunder Cloud Elemental launched its pursuit of Daodao Mantis, Ayou’s first Nether Explosion had already launched a brazen attack.

Because the Wet Moss Turtle hides too far away, Netherworld Explosion cannot directly target it. As an elemental life form, Thunder Cloud Elemental is extremely sensitive to energy fluctuations and can probably sense the attack of Netherworld Explosion.

Therefore, the location chosen for this Netherworld Explosion was between their two pet beasts.

Sensing the burst of ghost energy behind him, the thunder cloud element had to avoid its sharp edge and floated further away from the wet moss turtle.

And this moment is the offensive opportunity Russell is waiting for.

”Now, use the alloy claw to attack the wet moss turtle!”

Following his order, the broadsword mantis, which had successfully escaped from paralysis while the thunder cloud element was avoiding the netherworld blast, spread its wings and dived rapidly towards the wet moss turtle.

During the flight, the sharp cold light of metal emerged from its pair of blade arms, and the alloy claw skill that it had already used proficiently took shape instantly, slashing at the wet moss turtle that had no time to dodge.

At the same time, behind Daodao Mantis, the Thunder Cloud Elemental, who had regained consciousness, waved his lightning whip again and chased after it.

At the critical moment, the audience in the stands couldn’t help but hold their breath.
