Building a Business Empire with my Technological System

Chapter 395 The Next TargetThe morning sun bathed the boardroom of Reyes Corporation in a golden hue as Michael Reyes stood before a digital projection. The screen displayed a detailed dossier on their next target: Manny Pangilinan, the chairman of some of the Philippines’ most influential companies. The room was silent, the atmosphere electric with anticipation as Juliet began her briefing.

”Manny Pangilinan,” Juliet started, her voice calm but commanding. ”Chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, PLDT, Meralco, and other major holdings in telecommunications, energy, water, and infrastructure. His empire spans critical sectors, and his influence rivals anyone in the business world. He’s careful, calculated, and highly connected.”

She swiped to the next slide, showing Pangilinan’s rise. ”MVP, as he’s often called, built his empire through strategic acquisitions and aggressive expansion. He’s known for taking failing companies and turning them into profitable ventures. His reputation is solid; he’s seen as a dependable leader with strong ties to both the business community and government.”

Michael leaned back in his chair, his expression thoughtful. ”What about weaknesses? Every empire has cracks.”

Juliet nodded, moving to the next slide. ”PLDT is his crown jewel, but it’s also his biggest vulnerability. The telecommunications giant is heavily reliant on aging infrastructure, and its shift to modern systems like 5G has been slow and expensive. Their market share is solid, but they’re struggling to keep up with innovation.”

Bridget chimed in, her voice carrying a note of urgency. ”Meralco, his energy arm, is another weak point. While profitable, it’s under constant scrutiny for regulatory compliance. Any disruption in their operations could create significant public backlash.”

Juliet continued, ”Metro Pacific’s water and infrastructure divisions are stable, but they’re deeply tied to government contracts. Any delays or controversies in these projects could shake investor confidence.”

Michael’s eyes narrowed as he processed the information. ”So we hit them where it hurts. Telecommunications first. If PLDT stumbles, it’ll destabilize the rest of his empire.”

Juliet swiped to another slide, showing Reyes Corporation’s strategy. ”We’ve already established our dominance in the 5G market. The next step is to expand into PLDT’s corporate clientele. Their biggest accounts rely on consistent, high-speed connectivity—something they’ve been struggling to provide. We offer better, cheaper services, and they’ll have no choice but to switch.”

Bridget added, ”We’ve also identified several smaller ISPs tied to PLDT’s infrastructure. If we acquire or partner with them, we can further isolate PLDT from its customer base.”

Back at Reyes Corporation, Michael’s team moved with precision. Juliet had already initiated contact with PLDT’s corporate clients, offering them exclusive deals and superior service guarantees. Bridget coordinated with the PR team to release targeted ads emphasizing Reyes Corporation’s cutting-edge technology and commitment to innovation.

Within days, the impact was evident. Several mid-sized corporate clients began shifting their accounts to Reyes Corporation, citing better connectivity and cost-effectiveness. Social media buzzed with complaints about PLDT’s outdated infrastructure, further eroding their reputation.

At the same time, Michael deployed a more aggressive tactic. Reyes Corporation announced a partnership with a major international telecom provider, giving them access to advanced technology and expanding their global reach. The move sent shockwaves through the industry, positioning Reyes Corporation as not just a national leader but a global contender.

Pangilinan’s boardroom was tense as his executives scrambled to respond. Reports of client defections and negative press dominated the agenda.

”Sir, Reyes has partnered with Global Connect,” one executive said. ”This gives them access to infrastructure and technology we can’t compete with in the short term.”

Pangilinan’s expression was stone-cold. ”Then we focus on our strengths. Double down on our existing contracts and secure new partnerships. We need to show our clients that we’re still the better option.”

But even as MVP issued orders, he knew the tide was turning. Michael Reyes wasn’t just a competitor—he was a force of nature, reshaping the business landscape with relentless precision.

In the weeks that followed, the battle intensified. Reyes Corporation’s aggressive tactics continued to erode PLDT’s market share, while their media campaign painted a picture of progress and innovation. Pangilinan’s empire was holding steady, but the cracks were beginning to show.

Michael sat in his office, reviewing the latest reports with Juliet and Bridget. ”Pangilinan’s starting to feel the pressure,” Juliet said. ”But he’s still standing. If we want to bring him down, we’ll need to hit harder.”

Michael’s expression was unreadable, his mind focused on the next move. ”Then we keep pushing. Target their most critical accounts, disrupt their supply chains, and reinforce our public image. This isn’t just about winning—it’s about showing the entire business community that Reyes Corporation is unstoppable.”

As his team set to work, Michael gazed out at the city below, his resolve unshaken. Manny Pangilinan was a formidable opponent, but Michael had no intention of backing down. The war for dominance was far from over, and Michael Reyes was ready for whatever came next.
