Chapter 365: Buying the House
Michael and Bridget had always been decisive when it came to major life decisions, and the purchase of their new home in Forbes Park was no exception. The visit on July 16th had confirmed what they both already suspected—this house was perfect for them. Now, it was time to turn that excitement into reality by navigating the buying process as efficiently as possible.

July 17th: The Offer

The very next day, on July 17th, Michael and Bridget sat down with their legal team to draft a formal offer for the property. They were both eager to move forward quickly, and after consulting with their lawyer, they agreed to offer the full asking price of ₱750 million. Given the market and the exclusivity of Forbes Park, they didn’t want to risk losing the house over a negotiation.

The offer included their intent to pay in cash, which they knew would make them highly attractive buyers.

By midday, Clara had received their offer and immediately passed it on to the sellers. She assured Michael and Bridget that she would push for a swift response, knowing how eager they were to proceed.

July 18th: Offer Accepted

True to her word, Clara called Michael early on the morning of July 18th with the news they had been hoping for—the sellers had accepted their offer. There was a sense of relief and excitement as Michael relayed the news to Bridget. They had officially secured their dream home.

Clara, ever efficient, wasted no time. She began coordinating with Michael’s legal team to prepare the necessary documents for the transaction. The goal was to close the deal as quickly as possible, and with a cash payment, they were in a strong position to expedite the process.

July 19th - 21st: Legal and Financial Preparations

Over the next few days, from July 19th to 21st, Michael and Bridget focused on finalizing the legal and financial details. They met with their lawyer to review the purchase agreement and ensure all the terms were clear and favorable. Their bank facilitated the transfer of funds, preparing for the substantial cash payment that would be made upon closing.

The lawyer gathered the documents, stacking them neatly before looking up with a satisfied smile. ”Congratulations, Mr. Reyes, Ms. von Reimann. The property is officially yours. We’ll proceed with the necessary steps to record the transfer of ownership and ensure everything is in order with the Registry of Deeds.

You should receive the official Transfer Certificate of Title within the next few weeks.”

Clara leaned forward, her professional demeanor giving way to genuine enthusiasm. ”I can’t tell you how thrilled I am for both of you. This house is truly special, and I know you’re going to create many wonderful memories there.”

Michael shook hands with Clara and the seller’s representative, thanking them for their help and efficiency throughout the process. ”We really appreciate all your hard work,” he said, his voice sincere.

”This has been a smooth and straightforward experience, thanks to you.”

Bridget nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with excitement. ”Yes, thank you. We’re looking forward to settling in and making the house our home.”

As they left the lawyer’s office, documents securely in hand, Michael and Bridget exchanged a look of triumph and satisfaction.

Stepping out into the warm afternoon sun, Bridget took a deep breath and smiled. ”I can’t believe it—we did it. We’re homeowners.”

Michael grinned, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. ”And not just any home. This is the start of something incredible for us.”

As Michael and Bridget walked toward their car, the reality of their new status as homeowners began to sink in. But this is not the end, there is still more he’d like to do with Bridget.
