Building a Business Empire with my Technological System

Chapter 185: The Impassioned Speech
The chairman leaned in and whispered, ”Congratulations, Mr. Reyes. Your work is truly inspiring. Thank you for all that you do.”

Michael nodded in gratitude, his eyes scanning the hall filled with distinguished guests. The audience continued to clap, many on their feet to show their appreciation. Myra, sitting in the front row, beamed with pride, her hands clapping with enthusiasm.

The chairman motioned for Michael to step forward to say a few words. Michael approached the podium, the lights bright in his eyes. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before addressing the crowd.

”Thank you,” he began, his voice steady despite the nerves bubbling beneath the surface. ”I’m honored to be here tonight, standing among so many remarkable individuals. Yeah...I still can’t believe that this is happening to me. Almost three years ago, I was merely a college student in the Philippines, though I am still technically a student, graduating this year, being able to...

stand here on this stage is surreal.”

The crowd chuckled at Michael’s lighthearted remark, appreciating his humility despite the prestigious recognition. He paused, collecting his thoughts, aware that everyone in the Royal Festival Hall was listening intently.

”I’ve always believed that education and perseverance are the cornerstones of progress,” he continued, his voice growing more confident. ”Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors, teachers, and colleagues who supported and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I wouldn’t be standing here without them.”

Michael glanced at the Nobel Prize medal in his hand, ”This award isn’t just for me; it’s for everyone who’s worked tirelessly behind the scenes. It’s for my family, who’ve always believed in me, even when things seemed impossible. And it’s for the countless individuals who will benefit from the technologies and treatments we’ve developed.”

The audience applauded, resonating with Michael’s words. He felt the warmth and appreciation from the crowd, fueling his determination to continue making a difference.

”I’m grateful for this recognition,” he said, his voice softer now. ”But more than that, I’m excited about the future. There are so many challenges to tackle, and so much work to be done, and I’m eager to be a part of it. This award serves as a reminder that we’re on the right path, and I’m committed to pushing boundaries and finding solutions that make the world a better place.”

”Of course, I want to invite my mother here on stage because I owe so much to her,” Michael continued warmly. ”She has been my guiding light, my source of strength, and my biggest supporter. Mom, would you join me up here?”

”An interview with a journalist from the Philippines who’s covering our story,” Juliet replied, checking her tablet. ”They want to ask you about your journey and what this Nobel Prize means to you and your country.”

Michael nodded, adjusting his suit jacket. ”Seems straightforward. Do we know what questions they’ll ask?”

Juliet scrolled through her notes. ”They’ll probably cover your background, your work, and your plans for the future. The usual stuff for this kind of interview. Don’t worry; it’ll be brief.”

Bridget leaned in, her voice low to avoid drawing attention from those seated nearby.

”Just be yourself, Michael. You have a great story to tell, and people are interested in hearing about your path to success. It can inspire others.”

”I’ll keep that in mind,” Michael replied, taking a deep breath.

Juliet checked the time. ”The interview is scheduled for right after the ceremony ends. We’ll find a quiet spot to do it, away from the crowds.”

”Sounds good,” Michael said, looking around the Royal Festival Hall. The ceremony was winding down, with the other laureates taking their turns on stage to receive their awards and say a few words.

The chairman returned to the stage, signaling the end of the formal proceedings. The orchestra played a gentle melody as the audience stood and applauded one last time. The Nobel Prize ceremony had been a success, and now the focus would shift to the interviews and the reception that would follow.

”Mr. Reyes, we’ll guide you to the interview area. Security is in place, so you can focus on the conversation.”

”Thanks, Carter,” Michael replied.
