Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 633: Expanding The Domain

A fortress-city built entirely from layered black metal walls stood atop a jagged plateau. Massive cannons lined its perimeter, each powered by chained beasts bound to rotating engines.

On the highest tower, a silver-armored commander stared at the approaching translucent dome.

”...It’s still expanding,” he muttered.

An aide rushed forward. ”Reports confirm. Three frontier outposts have already been swallowed by that domain. All communication lost.”

Another officer clenched his jaw. ”Is this some kind of territory-type ability?”

”No,” the commander replied quietly. ”This is... a system.”

His wristband flickered as a recorded transmission from a swallowed outpost played.

[You are now part of the Game of Chaotic Ascension.]

The officers froze.

”...They’re converting territory into a game?” one whispered.

The commander’s expression hardened.

”Mobilize all units. Activate the perimeter formation. No one enters that domain.”

”And if it keeps expanding?”

The commander looked toward the horizon.

”...Then we stop whoever is controlling it.”

But even as he spoke, the dome expanded further.

Verdant Coil Kingdom

A forest kingdom grown from colossal living trees trembled as the domain boundary approached. Vines retracted instinctively as if sensing something unnatural.

A green-haired woman stood atop a massive branch, eyes narrowed.

”The energy absorption rate is ridiculous,” she muttered.

Behind her, dozens of spirit beasts gathered uneasily.

A scout landed beside her. ”We confirmed it. The kingdoms inside are already fighting each other for points. Their combat strength is increasing rapidly.”

She frowned. ”So they’re farming power using our plane...”

Another scout spoke, voice tense. ”And there’s more. The creators of this domain... they’re moving.”

”Moving?”

”Yes. They are heading toward bordering kingdoms. One by one.”

Silence fell.

”...How many?”

”Nine.”

Her pupils shrank.

”...Prepare evacuation routes. And summon all commanders. If they’re coming here, we fight at full power.”

Molten Spire Dominion

Volcanic towers erupted across a sea of lava. A horned warlord watched the domain boundary expand across the horizon, its reflection shimmering across molten rivers.

”What nonsense is this?” he scoffed.

A subordinate spoke nervously. ”Our scouts say the ones behind this have already conquered twenty-seven percent of the plane.”

The warlord laughed loudly.

”Then they’re fools. Expanding territory that fast will only make them targets.”

At that moment, the ground trembled.

The domain expanded further.

The lava itself began flowing inward slightly, drawn toward the refining storm.

The warlord stopped laughing.

”...What?”

Another scout appeared, pale.

”They’re coming here next.”

Silence.

”...Who?”

The scout swallowed.

”The creators of this domain.”

The warlord’s expression slowly changed.

”...Call everyone.”

Across the Border Regions

Panic began spreading.

Some kingdoms prepared defenses.

Some evacuated.

Some attempted alliances.

Some tried to launch preemptive strikes, only for their scouts to never return.

Rumors spread rapidly:

”They conquered a third of the plane.”

”They turned slaves into fighters.”

”They’re farming armies.”

”They’re creating a system.”

”They’re coming next.”

Meanwhile

Almond and the group moved across the landscape.

Dreadlings floated like silent shadows.

Grimblades drifted in rotating formations.

Ainen’s flames spread across the air like living constellations.

Natalia’s floating arsenal shimmered around her.

Kayla’s plant spirits crawled beneath the ground.

Saffa, Clovelle, and Fraisea’s spell formations rotated slowly, attached with exotic weapons.

Gopu stretched his shoulders.

”...Which kingdom first?”

Almond looked toward the horizon.

In the distance, Ironshade Bastion’s towering walls glimmered.

”That one.”

Lily smiled faintly.

”They’re already preparing.”

Ainen’s flames intensified.

”Good. That means they’ll bring all their resources out at once.”

The group continued forward.

The sky darkened slightly as the domain boundary expanded behind them.

On Ironshade Bastion’s walls, thousands of cannons aimed outward.

Armies gathered.

Energy formations activated.

The commander stared into the distance.

Then—

He saw them.

Nine figures.

Walking.

Calmly.

Behind them, the sky twisted with Dreadlings and Grimblades.

The commander’s throat tightened as he saw nine individuals covering the whole sky with their arsenal of powers.

”...Fire!”

The command to fire came out steady, but the commander’s grip on the railing tightened hard enough to dent the metal.

The entire fortress responded.

Rotating engines screamed to life as chained beasts roared beneath the battlements. Massive cannons aligned simultaneously, their barrels glowing with layered runes. The sky in front of Ironshade Bastion lit up as thousands of siege weapons discharged in unison.

Beams carved straight lines through the air. Explosive shells trailed spiraling contrails. Chains of lightning leapt between projectiles, linking them into a single sweeping barrage meant to erase everything in its path.

The incoming storm swallowed the nine figures.

For a moment, the defenders believed it was over.

Then the storm split apart.

Almond raised one hand.

Spirit Lords appeared around him.

”Go in and wreak havoc.”

”Join in the support.” Lily’s eyes glinted as the ten main Sovereign Dreadlings appeared and vanished behind the Spirit Lords.

The barrage tore across the sky and then collapsed inward as it struck an invisible wall. Energy bent, split, and scattered into hundreds of streaks that detonated across the fortress instead.

Before the defenders could react, the counterattack descended.

Blazing arcs of energy carved through the outer battlements. Entire cannon lines split apart, metal towers shearing diagonally before sliding into open air. Explosive shells detonated mid-launch, chains of lightning snapping backward and ripping through artillery crews.

A sweeping wave of distortion followed. The upper wall compressed inward, folding like soft clay. Defensive formations shattered as cracks spread across the fortress’s surface. Sections of the city below erupted into debris as shockwaves cascaded downward.

Commanders launched upward to intercept.

They were met by converging attacks from multiple directions. One was sliced apart by intersecting light trails. Another was engulfed in spiraling flames that consumed armor and flesh simultaneously. A third tried to raise a barrier, only for a crushing pressure wave to implode it and collapse his body inward.

The nine figures continued forward at the same pace.

Behind them, storms of power raged.

Blade-like crescents tore through towers. Columns of flame drilled through city blocks. Rotating constructs fired into defensive lines, detonating entire formations. The air filled with exploding platforms, shattered fortifications, and drifting fragments of black metal.

Captains gathered near the inner palace.

They charged together.

The first wave vanished under a descending arc that split them in half. The second group was caught in freezing distortion, bodies crystallizing before shattering into fragments. The third attempted a coordinated strike, only to be crushed by overlapping shockwaves that flattened them into the ground below.

The palace shields activated.

A layered dome formed, glowing with dense runes.

It lasted two seconds.

A concentrated beam punched through the center. Cracks spread across the barrier before it exploded outward, shards of energy scattering like glass.

The palace towers collapsed next. Their spires split vertically, sliding apart as molten debris rained downward. Defensive platforms detonated one after another, each explosion feeding into the chaos.

The king rose from the central platform, aura expanding violently.

He swung a massive energy blade forward. The strike carved a glowing trench through the destruction, splitting debris and shockwaves alike.

Gopu stepped ahead.

The two forces collided.

The impact flattened the remaining palace structures. The king pushed forward, energy surging around him. Gopu slipped inside the strike, drove his fist forward, and shattered the blade.

The king staggered.

A follow-up strike crushed his chest inward. The force blasted him backward through the collapsing palace core. Before he could recover, another blow landed.

His body burst apart into particles.

Silence followed for a fraction of a second.

Then the city finished collapsing.

Walls folded inward. Towers toppled. Streets split open as shockwaves continued to ripple outward. Fires burned across shattered districts while debris drifted across the sky.

Behind the destruction, the Chaos Refinement Storm expanded.

Massive spiraling currents formed above the ruins. Rubble, metals, energy fragments, weapons, treasure vaults, and entire resource depots were lifted from the ground. They were pulled upward in long streams, spiraling into the storm.

Gold, crystals, weapons, beasts, engines, and stored energy all disintegrated into refined power.

The storm brightened.

The nine figures continued forward, leaving behind nothing but drifting rubble as they moved toward the next kingdom.

...

Meanwhile, Rudra and the gang had just entered the most intense phase of the event as they entered the top 10, and arrived at the ultimate depth of this ocean, where the strongest teams and strongest Mythical monsters hunted each other.
