Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 605: Last One

The battlefield dissolved into particles of light.

The floating ruins, storm clouds, and broken temples vanished as the system pulled everyone back out of the game instance.

A moment later, the familiar courtyard of the Vorara residence reappeared around them.

The silver pond rippled again as spatial energy settled.

Natalia cracked her knuckles.

”That was fun.”

Kayla stepped off the bridge and brushed a bit of dust from her sleeve.

Saffa stretched in the courtyard chair again.

”That Titan barely lasted ten seconds.”

Ainen was already unpacking ingredients again.

”You people don’t appreciate good cooking setups.”

Fraisea glanced at the reward interface floating in the air.

”Resource Construction Box... that’s actually valuable.”

Almond stored the rewards without comment.

Lily leaned over the table and refreshed the system menu again.

”One more win.”

Gopu gave an excited bark.

The list of available A-rank game modes appeared again, scrolling slowly through dozens of options.

Lily read several out loud.

”Celestial Maze Collapse.”

”Abyssal Leviathan Hunt.”

”Runic Battlefield Domination.”

Then another entry appeared.

She paused.

”Oh.”

Natalia leaned closer.

”What?”

Lily turned the interface so everyone could see it.

A-Rank Game—Endless Frontier Relay.

The description expanded beneath it.

Game Type: Multi-Team Relay Survival Race

Teams: 5

Players per Team: 10

Total Race Distance: 1000 Kilometers

Relay Structure: Each player must complete a 100-kilometer segment before passing the relay to the next teammate.

Obstacles: Deadly environmental hazards, monster ambush zones, collapsing terrain, and dynamic trap fields.

Victory Condition: First team to deliver the relay core to the finish point wins.

Failure Condition: If a relay core is destroyed or lost, the team is eliminated.

Saffa sat upright immediately.

”Oh, that’s good.”

Kayla read further.

”The runner must physically carry the relay core the entire segment.”

Natalia grinned.

”And we have to survive everything the system throws at us.”

Ainen nodded approvingly.

Almond blinked. ”Since we are nine players, Velkris takes the 10th spot. Among my spirit lords, he may be the best at this game with his arsenal of spatial prowess.”

The air behind him distorted slightly.

A tall figure stepped forward from a ripple of spectral light.

Alfred.

The Spirit Lord bowed calmly.

”If my lord requires it.”

Almond nodded.

”You will run one segment.”

Alfred’s eyes glowed faintly.

”It will be done.”

The system accepted the adjustment.

TEAM SIZE CONFIRMED: 10

Natalia clapped her hands once.

”Perfect.”

Lily pressed the queue confirmation.

The system responded instantly.

MATCH FOUND

Light swallowed the courtyard again.

When their vision returned, the environment was completely different.

A massive open wilderness stretched across the horizon.

Endless terrain rolled forward in a colossal straight corridor of land that vanished into the distance.

Mountains, forests, canyons, rivers, and ruined structures dotted the path like checkpoints of destruction.

Above the sky, massive floating numbers appeared.

Segment Length: 100 KM

Total Distance: 1000 KM

Teams: 5

Runners Per Team: 10

A glowing relay core floated in front of each team.

It looked like a small golden sphere radiating steady energy.

Another system message appeared.

RUNNERS WILL BE TELEPORTED TO THEIR SEGMENT START POSITIONS

One player per 100 km checkpoint.

When the relay core reaches a checkpoint, the next runner begins.

Natalia stretched her shoulders.

”Who’s starting?”

Kayla looked across the distant terrain.

”The first stretch is forest and broken cliffs.”

Saffa pointed.

”And monsters.”

In the distance, enormous shapes moved between the trees.

Ainen folded his arms.

”That looks like a good warm-up.”

Almond stepped forward and grabbed the relay core.

”I’ll start.”

[ Take positions. You have 10 seconds left. ]

Everyone took their positions.

After ten seconds, the countdown dropped.

The horn thundered across the wilderness.

Five teams launched forward at the exact same moment.

The first relay cores ignited with golden light as the starting runners grabbed them.

Almond moved first as he picked the first segment.

A dense forest stretched ahead, but the trees were not normal.

The trunks were twisted like iron spirals, and the ground was littered with glowing runes.

The first trap activated immediately.

The moment Almond stepped across the first rune field, hundreds of wooden spikes shot upward from the soil.

He didn’t slow.

The Exalted Grimblade appeared in his hand.

One swing.

Voidfracture lines tore across the spike field, and the trap disintegrated before the spikes could even fully form.

Behind him, another runner tried to charge through the same trap.

The spikes erupted and skewered him instantly.

Almond continued deeper into the forest.

Monsters appeared soon after.

He grinned. ’Send me more. I should be able to make a second Exalted Grimblade after the S-rank game.”

Massive Tier-9 horned panthers leaped from the branches above, their claws glowing with toxic energy.

Almond stepped forward.

His blade moved once.

The panthers split apart mid-air and crashed behind him.

The forest suddenly ended in a massive cliff range.

The terrain collapsed into a series of floating stone pillars over a bottomless abyss.

Almond stepped forward and ran across them with calm precision.

A rival runner using wind magic surged beside him, trying to overtake.

Almond glanced once.

His blade moved again.

A thin fracture sliced through the pillar beneath the rival.

The stone collapsed.

”What?!” He looked in the direction of Almond, but a sudden burst of gravity swallowed him down.

The runner disappeared into the abyss.

Almond grinned as he continued.

Moments later, the first checkpoint tower appeared.

Natalia stood on top of it, already impatient.

Almond reached her and tossed the relay core upward.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

100 KM CLEARED

Natalia caught it with a grin.

”My turn.”

She jumped off the tower before anyone could reply.

Her terrain began instantly with rolling plains that looked peaceful at first.

Then the gravity storms activated.

The air twisted.

Entire patches of land have inverted direction.

Boulders floated upward before slamming down again.

Natalia spun her baton.

Her orchestra erupted into existence.

Violins screeched.

Drums thundered.

A wave of sound stabilized the gravity field around her as she ran.

Three enemy runners tried to pass her using flying mounts.

Natalia flicked the baton.

A golden sonic pulse detonated.

One mount shattered mid-air.

The other two lost balance and spiraled into a gravity vortex.

She sprinted through the chaos, laughing.

The second checkpoint appeared.

Kayla waited calmly.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

200 KM CLEARED

Kayla grabbed the relay core and stepped into the third segment.

Her terrain was jungle.

But the jungle was alive.

Massive carnivorous vines erupted from the ground, snapping like serpents.

The soil collapsed into sinkholes every few seconds.

Kayla placed her hand on the earth.

Roots surged outward instantly.

A massive network spread through the jungle floor.

Every hostile vine was crushed or diverted.

The terrain stabilized under her control as she ran forward.

When a colossal plant monster rose to block the path, Kayla simply tightened the root network.

The creature was torn apart underground before it could even roar.

She reached the next tower.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

300 KM CLEARED

Saffa caught the relay core next.

Her segment began in a canyon filled with violent storms of rotating blades.

Thousands of spinning metallic fragments filled the air like a hurricane.

Saffa grinned.

”Oh, this is fun.”

She opened her palm.

Chaotic purple ice constructs exploded outward.

The spinning blades shattered against the ice storm she created.

When a swarm of armored monsters climbed the canyon walls to ambush her, Saffa simply launched a barrage of jagged ice spears.

The creatures were blasted back into the abyss.

She reached the next checkpoint quickly.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

400 KM CLEARED

Fraisea took the relay core next.

Her terrain was frozen mountains.

Avalanches thundered constantly down the slopes.

Giant frost beasts guarded the narrow ridges.

Fraisea advanced with calm precision.

Her radiant frost beams pierced straight through the beasts’ skulls.

When an avalanche roared down toward her, she lifted one hand.

A wall of crystalline frost split the avalanche in half.

She crossed the mountain ridge without slowing.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

500 KM CLEARED

Clovelle stepped forward next.

Her section began inside a massive ruined city.

The streets were packed with mechanical traps.

Bladed pendulums swung across intersections.

Arrow turrets fired from shattered towers.

Clovelle adjusted her glasses calmly.

Her arcane arrays appeared around her like floating glyph rings.

Every trap that triggered was instantly countered.

Turrets jammed.

Blades froze mid-swing.

She ran straight through the deadly city while rewriting the mechanisms with her magic.

When a colossal mechanical guardian activated in the city center, Clovelle simply redirected its core array.

The giant collapsed instantly.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

600 KM CLEARED

Lily grabbed the relay core.

Her terrain was a wasteland filled with monster nests.

The moment she entered the zone, creatures poured from every direction.

Lily smiled faintly.

”Dinner time.”

Her Dreadlings flooded the battlefield.

Winged predators dove into the swarms.

Serpentine hunters devoured anything that moved.

The monsters trying to ambush her were instead hunted down.

She crossed the wasteland while her creatures tore the battlefield apart.

Naturally, she obstructed the other teams with her Dreadlings, staying ahead of the rest.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

700 KM CLEARED

Gopu roared proudly as he grabbed the relay core.

His terrain was volcanic.

Magma rivers flowed between shattered rock fields.

Fire elementals erupted from lava pools.

Gopu charged straight through it all.

Lightning crackled around his body as he smashed through molten beasts with brute force.

When a lava titan rose from the ground to block him, Gopu simply slammed into it head-first while activating two cards, turning his body almost indestructible as the dragon scales all over glinted brightly.

Boom!

Emerging from a hole in the peak Tier-9 titan’s chest, Gopu continued.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

800 KM CLEARED

Ainen caught the relay core next.

His segment was a desert illusion maze.

The terrain constantly shifted.

False paths formed and vanished.

Massive mirage monsters tried to mislead runners into deadly pits.

Ainen walked forward calmly while flames flickered around him.

Blue flames devoured illusions.

Green flames consumed magical traps.

Every false structure burned away instantly.

When a sand colossus emerged from the dunes, Ainen snapped his fingers.

Crimson fire wrapped around it and drained its life energy.

He crossed the desert without ever needing to hurry.

SEGMENT COMPLETE

900 KM CLEARED

Alfred took the relay core for the final segment.

The last hundred kilometers were the worst.

A colossal storm valley stretched ahead.

Lightning storms ripped across the sky.

Tornadoes tore the terrain apart.

Three rival teams still had runners active behind him.

Alfred stepped forward calmly.

Wind titans formed within the storm.

Spectral chains erupted from Alfred’s hands.

The titans froze in place and shattered.

A rival runner on blazing wings tried to pass him.

Alfred lifted a finger.

A spectral spear pierced the air.

The runner vanished.

The finish platform appeared through the storm.

Alfred walked forward through the lightning and crossed the line.

The relay core exploded with golden light.
