Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 207 - 202 Analysis! I Have Schizophrenia
After a moment of stunned silence, Wei Xi snapped back to her senses and forcefully pushed Chen Pingchuan.Chen Pingchuan felt a surprisingly strong force from her seemingly delicate hand. The push was powerful enough to aggravate his existing injuries, sending sharp waves of pain through his body. At the same time, what caught Chen Pingchuan completely off guard was that he had no chance to resist before Wei Xi pushed him back down onto the bed.

Looking at Chen Pingchuan sitting on the bed, Wei Xi unapologetically began patting him down. She then carefully inspected every inch of his bed, her gaze focused and serious, leaving no corner unchecked. Ultimately, she found no place where anything could be hidden.

Her petite, somewhat childish face was now full of curiosity, like a kitten that had discovered something new but couldn’t quite figure it out.

”Hey, kid, how did you do that?”

Chen Pingchuan was amused by Wei Xi’s antics. This girl is actually pretty cute when she’s quiet, he thought. A mysterious smile touched his lips as he teased, ”I’m a magician!”

Seeing her puzzled expression, he added, ”You know what a magician is, right?”

Wei Xi was instantly bewildered. Of course, she knew what magicians were. They were just performers who used clever techniques, props, and showmanship to create fantastical visual effects. In other words, they were actors. But the critical issue was that even if magicians could conjure things, their tricks were always meticulously prepared in advance. She had painstakingly checked every inch of Chen Pingchuan last night, and there was clearly nothing on him. So how could she explain the amazing feat he had just performed?

Just as Wei Xi was getting completely lost in her confusion, Chen Pingchuan’s voice rang out at the most inopportune moment. ”Let’s see, what was it that a certain little girl said just now? She said...”

Before Chen Pingchuan could finish, Wei Xi shot her hand out, pressing a delicate finger against his lips. The soft touch sent a jolt through his nerves, and his body instantly stiffened. Before Chen Pingchuan had any chance to resist, Wei Xi began speaking in a rapid-fire burst.

”Oh my, you slept for so long, you must be hungry, right? What do you want to eat? I’m telling you, I know several really famous breakfast places around here! I’ll go get you some right now!”

Wei Xi finished her rapid-fire speech and quickly turned to leave. However, just as one foot was about to cross the threshold, she seemed to remember something extremely important and darted back to Chen Pingchuan’s side. Without another word, she forcefully snatched the money from his hand. I can’t let him bring up the bet again! she thought, not daring to let her stream of words pause for even a moment. A fawning smile spread across her face. ”Hee hee, I’ll just hold on to this for you. I’ll give it back when you’re ready to leave.” With that, she scampered off like an agile little rabbit.

Chen Pingchuan quietly watched her figure disappear through the doorway, the smile on his face gradually fading until his expression was placid once more.

The truth was, he could have stopped Wei Xi’s actions; he just didn’t feel it was necessary at the moment. He desperately needed a quiet environment to carefully assess his physical condition. After all, the unexpected spatial teleportation he had experienced seemed to have caused severe damage to his body. He needed to calm down and investigate the extent of it thoroughly.

”Attribute Panel.”

Chen Pingchuan’s lips parted slightly as he spoke the command to check his status.

My mind is racing.

Other than Constitution, the damage to my other attributes seems much lighter. They were likely just impacted as a result of the damage to my Constitution. This means that during long-distance spatial travel, that dark space must be constantly eroding my body. If it weren’t for that single point of light, I might have become lost in the darkness, reduced to a pile of bones. The more I think about it, the more frightened I become.

After analyzing my physical condition, I need to focus on my mental state.

Clearly, my personality had already started changing before this. In other words, my real-world self was being eroded by the divine self from the simulation. If it hadn’t been for this spatial jump, I might have been unknowingly replaced by that divine self.

So why didn’t the simulator’s upgrade seal bug work?

Or perhaps, the simulator doesn’t consider this divine self to be a bug. Maybe it’s a personality trait or an emotion I’ve possessed all along.

The implications are terrifying. I’m no longer the person I used to be, who would simply set aside things he couldn’t figure out. Now, I feel that everything must have a traceable cause. If I can’t find it, it only means my memory or intelligence is being clouded by conventional wisdom or some other factor.

Then... is it possible that I’m actually a psychopath? No, to be more precise, that I have a mental illness? A patient with serious psychological problems! An emotional disorder, or maybe... dissociative identity disorder. Is there another person hidden in the depths of my soul?

Maybe more than one!

My scalp is starting to tingle. I don’t know why, but a voice deep inside is telling me that this very speculation is the truth.

In that case, is there another possibility? That this isn’t my first time in this world? That I’ve been here before? That would explain the suit of armor that belongs to me, and the emotional trait I’m supposed to have—anger.

So, why am I experiencing it all over again?
