Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 120 - 115: Women! One crazier than the other
Sensing the hunk of metal across from her was shaken by her words, Ji Hongxiu felt a wave of pleasure. The gloom of the past year finally had an outlet. So, she spoke even more bluntly, ”I said, your Young Palace Master’s little lover is dead!”

”Do you not understand me?”

Of course, my own feelings are complicated right now, Ji Hongxiu thought. If Chen Pingchuan can truly be resurrected, then I would be the only one who knows the truth. Hmm, and now this little girl knows too. If he can’t be resurrected, then I’ll disband the Holy Spirit Sect, return to the Blood Beast Ban Headquarters, and live in seclusion with only a long-burning lamp for company, never to emerge into the world again. None of that really matters. Either way, letting that vile woman in the Celestial Palace know about this is the best choice.

Hongkai’Er was stunned for a long time before she came back to her senses. Since replacing her alloy body, she was seldom influenced by emotions. But when she saw Chen Pingchuan lying in Belia’s arms and recognized his face, she still froze for a moment. She didn’t know what to do. After all, the Young Palace Master had sent her here to monitor and protect Chen Pingchuan.

But now, the person I was supposed to be watching and protecting is gone. Does that mean the mission is a failure? Chen Pingchuan is actually dead? Who would be insane enough to kill the Young Palace Master’s Heaven’s Chosen?! Everyone involved will be caught in the fallout of his death! Not just you people, but your families and friends will die too! Why am I so unlucky?

Hongkai’Er didn’t know the inside story. She just assumed Chen Pingchuan had provoked the great expert from the Blood Beast Ban and been casually killed by her. As for why she didn’t suspect Belia, well, wasn’t the little girl crying her eyes out over his death? Seeing Belia’s tear-streaked face, Hongkai’Er mocked internally, This Chen Pingchuan really is a scumbag. No wonder he could wrap the Young Palace Master around his little finger.

But she was also in distress, with no idea what kind of punishment she would face for failing her mission.

Even though the Young Palace Master and I have been like sisters since we were children, she nearly had a falling out with the Grand Palace Master over the matter of Chen Pingchuan’s life. Can I possibly compare to the Grand Palace Master? Not to mention, the man is already dead now.

Just as Hongkai’Er was pondering her next step, Ji Hongxiu’s enticing voice drifted over.

”Since you can’t make up your mind, why not hurry up and report his death to your Young Palace Master? Let her have a good cry, too. After all, her Heaven’s Chosen is dead.”

Ji Hongxiu wouldn’t pass up this chance to torment her rival. Hongkai’Er felt helpless. Although Ji Hongxiu’s words were clearly ill-intentioned, she had no better solution at the moment, so she dialed her communicator.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP...

”Hongkai’Er, what is it? Have you found him? Didn’t I tell you not to contact me unless it’s critical? It increases the risk of exposure. You just need to stay hidden by his side. In just ten years, I will fulfill my promise to you.”

Hongkai’Er’s emotions were in turmoil. Since all Spirit-infused Mecha Warriors in the Celestial Palace are incapable of deceiving their superiors, she had no choice but to briefly report the situation.

”Mission target Chen Pingchuan has been confirmed deceased. The suspected killer is Grand Elder Ye Hu, one of the two women present, who recently advanced to the Eighth-Level Divine Transformation Realm. The cause is unknown.”

Then, Hongkai’Er transmitted the live feed of the scene directly to the headquarters of Celestial Palace One.

Chen Pingchuan watched all of this unfold silently. I originally thought I could use the simulation to escape the City of No Night without anyone knowing. It seems I was too naive. I refuse to believe Hongkai’Er’s arrival was a simple coincidence. Celestial Palace One is a top-tier power in the mechanical faction. Thinking back to the satellite communications and global real-time imaging from my past life—high-tech stuff I could barely comprehend—it’s no surprise they found me, especially since this world’s technology is far more advanced. Finding a safe and effective way to retreat is the most important thing right now.

Chen Pingchuan was somewhat eager to see Xia Qingxue’s reaction. On the other end of the holographic projection, her expression was impossible to make out. However, judging from her voice, he couldn’t sense any sorrow. She glanced through the projection at his own dead body, then at Ji Hongxiu and Belia, and spoke in an icy tone, ”You’ve only just awakened and you’re already entangled with so many women. It seems I have no choice but to bring you back.”

”Hongkai’Er, I am very disappointed in you.”

”I’m sorry, Young Palace Master. It’s my fault. I was too late.”

”Hmph! I’ll give you this one chance. Next time, the Dark Hell will be your destination. Don’t blame me for disregarding our sisterly bond.”

Xia Qingxue’s icy words puzzled me, Chen Pingchuan thought. I’d already sensed something was different about her last time, but now it’s even more obvious. What could have possibly changed her so much?

Unfortunately, in his current Spirit Body state, he couldn’t speak or express himself, so he could only watch silently.

Then, Xia Qingxue once again turned her gaze to Ji Hongxiu and Belia.

”So you’re the women my husband chose while I was away? You don’t seem all that impressive. The state he’s in now is his own fault; no one else is to blame. But you two have also truly disappointed me. Becoming Chen Pingchuan’s woman isn’t that simple. You are far too lacking. I hope you will choose to leave him of your own accord in the future.”

Xia Qingxue’s words made Ji Hongxiu’s expression turn increasingly ugly, because she deduced from the words that Xia Qingxue also knew the secret of Chen Pingchuan’s ability to resurrect.

Just as Ji Hongxiu was about to retort, an energy blade suddenly burst from her chest. She turned around in disbelief and saw Belia’s eyes filled with hatred. To avoid detection, Belia had ignored the risk of mental collapse, pouring every last bit of her energy into concealing her aura.

Ji Hongxiu felt a surge of inexplicable anger. None of the Spirit God’s women are any good, except for me!

She raised her right arm, and with her fair, smooth hand, pierced Belia’s heart in return.

Chen Pingchuan was completely floored.

Why can’t these women just get along? They start fighting the moment they see each other, and the problem is, a total weakling like me can’t even stop them. This is the curse of having powerful women and a weak man. The supposed head of the household has no authority, and none of these factions respect me in the slightest. And on top of it all, the women of this world are completely insane.

That was Chen Pingchuan’s final conclusion.

But he never expected that something even more explosive was about to happen.
