The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1947 Not The Bunnies

Karl stared at the group of Immortals with a blank expression that made the other customers immediately retreat to the walls, so they didnʼt get in the middle of what came next.

”Really now? I have someone who belongs to you? If you say itʼs one of my bunnies, youʼre not getting them back. I found them, and Iʼm keeping them.”

The Immortal snorted in derision, clearly missing the warning in Karlʼs tone.

”Why would we give a damn about a bunny?

You have taken someone much more important to us. Where is the blind half Elf?”

Karl frowned, thrown for a loop by the request.

They were here for Meisje?

”We have the documents, she has been betrothed to our Elder by contract since she was born. Today is her eighteenth birthday, and we are here to collect our property.”

”Sorry, no bind Elves here. But Iʼve got some that see very well what sort of nonsense youʼre trying to pull. If you want to have a Clan to go back to, I suggest that you leave now. If you think that you can show up and intimidate the Darklight Host into giving you one of our members, you should at least do some research first, so you pick a description that fits a member.

And then you should think long and hard about whether that is a fight that you can win.”

”If you donʼt turn her over, we will tear this place apart to get her.”

They were entirely too dedicated to this, Karl decided. There was no good reason to risk a fight for a Spirit Immortal girl who had barely reached adolescence. Sure, she had crafting skills, but that was true of most of the Guild.

While they argued, Rae moved her Elf into the Tiny World, giving her a day off work at the clothing shop, just in case things got fun.

Who wanted to stop killing stupid people just to recover a stolen Elf?

”Our Clan members are on their way, I suggest that you comply. One stolen Elf isnʼt worth this trouble.”

”I have told you, we donʼt have any blind Elves here. I donʼt know what made you think that we did, but you are mistaken. Now, leave. You are not welcome here, and the Darklight Host will not be doing business with you in the future.”

The spectators along the wall all went pale.

That was a threat that none of them would dare to face, Karlʼs Guild had too many valuable skills for them to do anything that would have him turn on their entire Clan like that. What if the word got out to the Blue Elves? They could blacklist the Clan from their auctions as well, and they were known to do it if you threatened their suppliers.

With both of those options out, they would lose nearly half of the new sources of high grade resources that the region had gained in the last few centuries.

But these Elders were not backing down.

Instead, they pulled weapons, intending to make their point with violence right inside of the Darklight Host Guild Hall.

”I wouldnʼt do that if I were you. The System might take it as a declaration of war,” Karl informed them in a casual tone.

”Let the system take it any way that it wants. We will have what we are owed.”

{System Notice} The Divine Fist Devils have declared war on the Darklight Host.

{This declaration may become an interplanetary war. Travel to affected regions is not advised.}

On a distant world, near the edge of the Divine Battleground, two Elder stared at each other as they sipped tea.

”What in the seven hells is going on? Who declared war during the ceasefire?”

”How should I know. It says that it was one of yours, but why are they declaring war on us? Weʼve been allies for millennia. Do you think it was some Elder from a rural Immortal world that has no idea about the battlefields?”

”It has to be. Either that, or one of my Elders has been cursed with retardation.”

”Decline?”

”Yes, we will decline. Let them deal with it on their own. Give me a moment and I will sever them from the Guild.”

{Branch 114 of the Divine Fist Devils have been disowned by the Guildʼs Divine Leadership}

Karlʼs smile as that message appeared in front of him nearly froze the blood in the veins of the spectators.

Then {Mana Suppression} fell over the room, and the Dark Elven Priestesses moved to grab the Elders, while the protective Golems sprang into action.

”Take them for questioning. I want to know everything about why they were here.

But no rush, enjoy yourselves.”

The Priestesses laughed, while Karl felt a wave of portals open within the town. The rest of the branch had come to back up their leaders, and Karl could sense a Supreme Ranked being among them.

[Rue, would you like to handle this? Or should I call the Pack Leader?]

[Call the Pack Leader, I suspect that they might be a puppet Guild sent by the Valalan League Alliance to try to track me down. Starting a war over a blind child makes no sense, no matter how creepy their branch leader is.]

Rue had a point. Their justification made no sense at all.

Rue didnʼt just sit back and wait, though. She activated the Police Golems, and the buildingʼs defensive barrier, so that both were at the Supreme Rank, and then transferred Karl a new item to help him out.

{The Karlʼs Armour} Peerless Grade, Supreme Ranked armour suit. Increases resistances to all elements by 50 Percent. Reduces damage taken by 20 Percent. Ignores 10 Percent of the wearerʼs health in damage. Indestructible.

Now that was the sort of thing that he needed. A shiny new overpowered item to improve his durability. It was even stylish, with the base armour made out of black leather and red silk by Rae. Plus, it was a full set, pants, shirt and boots.

No need to mix and match.

Karl laughed as he equipped the armour, and got a notification from the System.

{System Notice} Damage reduction from skills and items is capped at 80 Percent.

Well, that was no fun at all.
