The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 319 - 201: Derivative Entry: Thunder Driving and Electric Strategy
Chapter 319: Chapter 201: Derivative Entry: Thunder Driving and Electric StrategyA dazzling bolt of lightning streaked from the densely clouded sky, illuminating both heaven and earth, and the man’s silhouette flickered in and out of visibility between the layers of the thundering clouds above. Slowly, he raised his hand and then extended a finger.

The fingertip touched the lightning, and instantly a myriad of thunder branches spread out.

In that moment, a deafening clap of illumination made everything in the world look ghastly pale.

Also in that moment, the audience standing at the entrance of the Black Currant Theater realized something.

It turned out that some posters were not false advertising, meaning that ”what you see is what you get” meant the scenes on the posters couldn’t fully capture the details of seeing it live...

It turned out, someone really could control lightning!

The figure gradually became more visible; he seemed to have noticed the crowd below, watching him. His gaze swept over the multitude without a word.

Then, he pressed his hand downward in the air.

After a brief silence, a deep thunderous response seemed to come from the sky, followed by countless threads of rain falling from the thick clouds.

”Damn, it’s raining...”

”Controlling lightning isn’t enough? Now even the rain is under his command?”

A bunch of spectators grumbled as they hurried back to the Black Currant Theater to take shelter, some dashed to the parking lot despite the rain, while others left one after another with their umbrellas.

But unanimously, their hearts were filled with shock; if the magic they had seen inside the theater was beyond belief, then the scene they were witnessing now involuntarily elicited their awe.

Had human effort indeed summoned the majesty of nature?

That was terrifying!

Reflecting on Jiang Shu’s recent performance inside the Black Currant Theater...

Could it be that the clouds, the thunder, the lightning, all of it was real?

Could Jiang Shu truly command the weather as easily as turning over his hand?

At this time, several audience members remembered the plaza that had been struck by lightning, so, driven by curiosity, they slowly made their way there.

There were no trees on that plaza, nor tall buildings, just an ordinary expanse of open space.

Except now, there was a crater on the plaza.

A small crater, with some cracks and fragments of stone scattered about.

Clearly, this was the result of the recent lightning strike.

”This is from the lightning?”

”It seems so.”

”Could it have been explosives or something?”

”It shouldn’t be, there’s nowhere around here to place explosives, and we didn’t see any explosion, did we?”

”Right.”

The group encircled the small crater, observing and taking pictures for quite a while, then gradually dispersed, all the while expressing their amazement.

Within just a few minutes after the magic performance, a video titled ”Command the Clouds, Direct the Rain” was released by the Black Currant Theater, and it immediately caused a massive stir, skyrocketing to the top of the trending searches in an extremely short period of time.

——

By this time, having already returned to the Magic House, Jiang Shu frowned deeply and asked Ding, ”How is it, still not working?”

Ding nodded and then spread his hands, a helpless expression on the screen: unable to recharge himself.

”Still no luck,” Jiang Shu sighed. He glanced at his Character Card.

Milestone:

Completed the magic ”Thunder Son.”

Earned entries ”Basic Electricity” and ”Control Power.”

Character Card

Name: Jiang Shu

Character Card·Magician

-Passive·Basic Electricity (White): Possesses basic knowledge of electricity.

-Passive·Control Power (Blue): Increases control power ability for all entries, stability also increased.

-Active·Deception·Thunder Driving and Electric Strategy: Commands lightning and thunder clouds.

These were all the entries acquired from the recent magic performance.

Basic Electricity was understandable; after all, Jiang Shu had learned quite a bit of electrical knowledge from Kirie these past two days, even reviewing some high school electricity knowledge for a while.

He really didn’t want to perform any electricity-related magic ever again.

Those thunderstorm clouds were not dangerous; it just took a lot of his energy and time to create them.

Fire-retardant cotton, slightly colored, served as the main body of the thunder clouds, with a complete set of light strips inside; this became a thunderstorm cloud lamp.

It wasn’t difficult to produce such an extensive spread of thunderstorm clouds with a few details, and in the pitch-black environment of the performance hall, such clouds were enough to pass off as real.

The thunder clouds that the audience was later invited to touch were an illusion created by perspective; what the audience saw was a visual illusion, and the moisture and ice crystals they felt were produced by devices such as humidifiers.

That was why he had the audience come up rather than the thunder clouds come down, because such an illusion could only be achieved from certain fixed angles.

The final lightning trick was a special lightning rocket made by Kirie; the streak of gold light was the little rocket launching.

The rocket created a conductive path between the clouds and the ground, and then, following Jiang Shu’s movements, lightning struck.

As for touching the lightning...

That too was an illusion, another angle would reveal that Jiang Shu was actually separate from the lightning, and this fact was naturally not apparent to the onlookers at the entrance of the Black Currant Theater.

Commanding the rain was also an artificial process of rainmaking, which required cooperation from the day’s weather; neither thunder nor rain can be conjured out of thin air.

As for the rest...

One could only say that when the atmosphere was right, all the magic effects fell into place naturally.

If one is poor in physics, life is full of magic.
