The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 317 - 200: A Fingertip Touch on Thunder!_2
Chapter 317: Chapter 200: A Fingertip Touch on Thunder!_2Although Jiang Shu wasn’t clear about the difference between lightning and ordinary household electricity, nor did he understand the specific principles of lightning, he reckoned they were probably similar. So, simulating it with a holographic projection shouldn’t be too difficult.

Almost every audience member thought the same.

Because, up to this point, all of Jiang Shu’s magic effects had been within their comprehension.

Although just like Jiang Shu’s previous performances, this ”Thunder Son” show still offered an excellent viewing experience, filled with the magician Jiang Shu’s unique aesthetic expertise. Each deployment and spread of the thunder was very beautiful.

With Jiang Shu’s relaxed performance on stage, while watching the magic show, each audience member would develop an illusion, as if Jiang Shu could truly command thunder and lightning.

Boom—

It seemed the audience below was too noisy, so Jiang Shu suddenly clapped his palms together violently, and those scattered Thunderstorm Clouds suddenly converged, then collided violently with each other, releasing loud roars of thunder and brilliant flashes of lightning.

In that instant, the blinding light filled the entire performance hall, and the audience squinted their eyes involuntarily, closed their mouths, and quieted down.

”Very good.” Jiang Shu nodded his head, his gaze sweeping over the entire audience, and then he continued in a somewhat teasing tone, ”Next, I will randomly choose an audience member to touch these Thunderstorm Clouds. Don’t worry, there’s no danger.”

”...”

The audience below suddenly fell silent, then a new round of whispers emerged.

”It’s not dangerous ...”

”Let us touch the thunder? Seriously?”

”Could he have placed wires inside to shock us on purpose?”

”Quite possible.”

”That would be outright revenge!”

On stage, Jiang Shu simply smiled. It seemed like he heard the whispers from the audience, so he explained, ”This is certainly not any kind of revenge, I just want to give you a close experience of Thunderstorm Clouds. Don’t worry, they won’t shock you; they’re as cute as ordinary clouds.”

Despite hearing Jiang Shu say this, and although the audience judged the nature of these Thunderstorm Clouds, still...

They were somewhat reluctant to actually touch them.

What if Jiang Shu really had concealed electricity inside and they embarrassed themselves in public?

Wait... that’s not right!

Suddenly, an audience member thought of something.

”If we touch them, wouldn’t we discover that these clouds are actually a holographic projection?”

”Right, if we get close enough to touch it, our hand would go right through it, wouldn’t that give it away?”

”But since Jiang Shu the Magician is really doing this... could it be...”

The discussion among the audience paused suddenly.

Exactly, since Jiang Shu dared to let them touch it firsthand, he must not be afraid of them realizing it’s just a holographic projection on the spot!

Could it be...

It’s not a holographic projection?

What else could it be?

The same question spontaneously appeared in all of their minds.

”It seems you are all curious about what these Thunderstorm Clouds really are.” Jiang Shu continued, ”But obviously, only some lucky ones among you will get the chance to touch the Thunderstorm Clouds.”

Jiang Shu took out a transparent plastic container, filled with ping pong balls marked with different numbers. Holding this frame of ping pong balls, he shook the plastic basket as he walked towards the front row.

”Come, you there, please pick a ping pong ball,” Jiang Shu placed the plastic basket in front of him.

”Oh, okay.” The front-row audience reached into the basket and casually picked a ping pong ball, glanced at it, then handed it to Jiang Shu.

Jiang Shu took the ping pong ball not with his index finger and thumb but displayed the number on it.

”Row 23.” He read out the number, then said to the audience who took the ping pong ball, ”Please say a number, any number between one and forty.”

”17.” The audience said.

”Very good, row twenty-three, seat seventeen, this lucky audience friend, please stand up,” Jiang Shu extended his hand towards that area, making a welcoming gesture.

It was a young man who stood up with a youthful shyness. He awkwardly scratched his head and asked, ”Am I to touch the Thunderstorm Clouds?”

”That’s right,” Jiang Shu nodded and then gave a challenging look, ”Well, are you scared?”

”Is it dangerous?” the young man who stood up asked, ”If it’s dangerous...”

”No no no, there’s no danger, trust yourself,” Jiang Shu laughed and responded, ”Of course, as I said earlier, the underside of the Thunderstorm Clouds carries a negative charge, and the top a positive charge. I can control them to stay in place, so it won’t shock you, but if you reach too deep, touching both the negative charge at the bottom and the positive charge on top, then...”

Boom—zzzzzz—Jiang Shu made the sounds of thunder and electricity with his mouth, then shrugged his shoulders in a helpless manner, ”that might cause some trouble.”

”I... I understand.” The young man nodded his agreement.

After all, being selected as the lucky audience in Jiang Shu’s magic show was itself a very fortunate incident.
