The premiere ceremony proceeded item by item, and with the host’s deliberate guidance, the joyous atmosphere among the fans present was continuously pushed to its peak.

However, the premiere of a suspense film was forcibly turned into something akin to a variety show reality TV, and it also seemed like a personal fan meeting for Li Yuntang. But in general, the popularity of the film was indeed forced up in this manner.

In the middle section of the audience seats, there were two men who were completely out of sync with the surrounding atmosphere.

Tang had regained his composure, but his eyes no longer held their usual calm; he stared intently at Jiang Shu in the front row, his thoughts unknowable.

And Wolf was keeping a straight face...

It was purely because he felt that keeping a straight face was more befitting of his status in such a place.

Moreover, Tang’s reaction was somewhat odd to Wolf.

Although Tang had outwardly returned to normal after a period of shock, Wolf still sensed something.

Tang was afraid... apprehensive of something.

What exactly was he apprehensive of?

This movie?

Or Jiang Shu in the front row?

If the original Tang was always in a watertight, calculated state of mind, then now, in Wolf’s view, there were flaws in Tang.

His mental state was no longer perfect.

”So, today’s premiere comes to an end. Please, our distinguished guests and friends among the fans, leave in an orderly fashion. Thank you,” the host on stage said to the audience, and the cast members lined up beside him bowed politely to the crowd.

Ah, it’s over.

Wolf thought to himself, then left the theater with the other attendees.

Upon reaching the door, he stood there waiting for a while.

But even when everyone inside had left, Wolf failed to see any familiar faces.

So he looked back into the venue of the premiere ceremony.

Inside, only some staff remained.

”Damn!” Wolf slapped his forehead, coming to his senses.

Tang and Jiang Shu had disappeared.

He’d been left behind again.

---

In the dimly lit emergency passage of the cinema, Jiang Shu and Tang stood facing each other, five meters apart.

Jiang Shu habitually used his Mind Reading Technique on Tang.

No result.

Which meant, the Tang in front of him was still some unknown entity.

There was no point in dealing with it; it would only expose his abilities.

”How was the movie?” Jiang Shu asked with a smile, ”As a crime suspense film, was the handling of the case’s plot quite realistic and compelling?”

”Indeed,” Tang’s expression shifted slightly.

No matter when, this matter was a secret hidden in the deepest part of his heart, and now it was exposed by Jiang Shu in such a manner.

To tell the truth, it was a real hurt, shaking his once calm state of mind severely.

”So, Mr. Hunter, what do you think of this film?” Jiang Shu drawled.

It sounded like he was addressing Chief Dick Tang, but the name he called out was not Dick Tang at all.

Tang’s expression changed even more visibly when he heard the name; he looked at Jiang Shu with a grave face, ”How do you know this name?”

Jiang Shu just smiled and said softly, ”I know a lot of things, Mr. Hunter.”

Hunter.

The man who disappeared that year.

And Hunter’s girlfriend at the time was the leading lady in the case of the flower girl’s suicide.

The subsequent plot was pretty much a revised version of the movie ”Extraordinary Joe,” and this affair was also a secret buried deep in Tang’s heart.

He must have used something like a memory USB to overwrite the original’s thoughts, successfully replacing himself as a member of the Dick Family, which was also the reason he was reluctant to use the Dick family name.

Similarly, this was also the reason Dick Tang had always been at odds with the Dick Family.

To be honest, setting Devil Wind aside, Jiang Shu didn’t hold much malice towards what Tang had done in the past, nor did he particularly object to what Tang had always wanted to achieve.

However, partly acknowledging Tang didn’t mean he would let Tang off the hook.

Some people deserve to die, after all.

At most...

He could help Tang realize his vision of an ”artificial intelligence-assisted judicial process.”

After all, that was also what Devil Wind intended to achieve.

”What are you planning to do?” Tang frowned and looked at Jiang Shu, knowing that Jiang Shu making a movie out of his painstaking efforts was definitely not for simple entertainment.

”I... haven’t thought of it yet.” Jiang Shu shrugged, his manner nonchalant, as he casually said, ”I’ll tell you when I think of something.”

”...” With that statement, Tang became even more puzzled by the man before him.

There must be a deeper meaning behind Jiang Shu’s actions, but he couldn’t see it yet.

And now, he couldn’t resort to other means against Jiang Shu; if Jiang Shu were to reveal his identity to those peripheral relatives of the Dick family...

Clearly, that would cause him a lot of trouble.

Those relatives would directly cause chaos, which would not be conducive to his plans.

”In any case, I don’t want to see you for a while. Disappear from my sight,” Jiang Shu continued, ”Seventh District and such are not places for a pseudo-noble like you to intervene.”

”...” Tang remained silent, and after a while, he replied softly, ”I understand.”

He truly didn’t have the luxury to bother with the petty matters of the Seventh District anymore; he needed to hurry back and take care of the Dick Family’s affairs to prevent future troubles.

There were two reasons why Jiang Shu could now threaten him with his secrets.

First, he had orchestrated the plane crash that wiped out the Dick Family’s direct line.

But that case was too old now, and there was no existing chain of evidence to prove his guilt.

Second, once he was stripped of his Dick Family direct lineage, those peripheral relatives would not hesitate to incite internal conflict to deal with him.

That would be very troublesome.

But to render Jiang Shu’s threat null and void, the solution was simple.

First, deal with Jiang Shu right here.

That option could be immediately dismissed. He wasn’t stupid, and neither was Jiang Shu; since Jiang Shu dared to show up here, he must have been fully prepared.

Second...

Get rid of those peripheral relatives first, completely eliminate them.

While this would cause a significant weakening of the Dick Family for a long period, clearly, it would be a permanent solution.

He just needed a bit of time to prepare.

So now, he could only bow his head to Jiang Shu.

Thus, Tang nodded and repeated, ”I understand, Mr. Jiang.”

”Good, as long as you understand,” Jiang Shu smiled, his smile not reaching his eyes, then he turned and walked down the stairs through the safety corridor, leaving the place.

Leaving Tang alone, pressing against the stair railing, his face grim as he deeply contemplated.

”Whew—” After entering the underground parking garage, Jiang Shu also let out a sigh of relief.

The first step in targeting Tang was complete.

It seemed to go smoothly; he took the bait.

Next up was the second phase about Elder Sister Ruo.
