158 I’ll Leave This for You to Settle
”You are ignoring my words?” Liu Zi in the back came near and said in a strange tone. ”Are you only going to be happy if you are cut?”

”Yes… Yes… Ah, no!” Wu Ruoyu struggled out of her lethargy and spoke softly.

”Chen Fan, Chen Fan, where are you?” Wu Ruoyu could only start the car again with a silent sob in her throat, but she believed Chen Fan would have some way to save her, although she couldn’t guess how.

The car slowly pushed over the yellow grass on the road. Wu Ruoyu was very anxious as she drove slowly.

Creak! Creak!

Just as the A4 was halfway up the back of the BMW, there was a sickening sound of friction under the car. Without words from Wu Ruoyu, both men understood the car’s chassis was scratched.

”Speed up!” The man in the grey jacket sat in the front seat, and the car itself was low with the weight of three people. Under these circumstances, it was not uncommon to scrape to the bottom of the car against the gravel.

”God bless, God bless!” There was a great hope in Wu Ruoyu’s heart that she could be saved as long as the car was stuck here.

Bit by bit, Wu Ruoyu was ready to try to stop the car whether it could move or not.

Creak, creak, creak. Again, an uncomfortable scraping sound was heard. After a few shakes, the car pressed a drive wheel on the cement road to get off the ground.

The right drive wheel lost power balance, turned a few times and plunged into the pit that it made. It kept turning, unwilling to come out.

”Big... Big brother, it’s stuck!” Wu Ruoyu’s fair forehead was covered with cold sweat. This was a matter of life and death!

”Damn!” the grey jacket guy muttered. ”All of you get out!”

Liu Zi in the back row was the first to get out, pulling the door open on Wu Ruoyu’s left side. He threatened her with a knife, indicating, don’t try any tricks like running away.

”Liu Zi, you look after her!” The grey jacket guy opened the trunk and took out the jack. It wasn’t a good time to get her. They had to get the car out and get away quickly after committing the crime.

Standing in front of the two cars, Wu Ruoyu did not care about the knife that could kill her anytime. Her eyes constantly, anxiously scanned the black BMW. Miserably, Wu Ruoyu now was not sure if Chen Fan could withstand the tremendous impact force.

The dark night sky and the black windshield made it impossible for Wu Ruoyu to see the inside of the car.

”Tut! Tut! Tut!”

Liu Zi clicked his tongue and looked at the black BMW. He stretched out a finger to rub his chin. ”Sh*t man, driving the BMW! I’ll see if the man has anything valuable.”

As soon as he finished his sentence, he glanced at the girl and there was a surprised expression on her face. Then, he felt chills down his spine and without thinking, turned around.

His pupils expanded six times and before he could respond, a big fist appeared in his sight.

Bang!

A sound was heard and Liu Zi suddenly saw a blur before his eyes. He felt as if his body were as light as a feather, followed by the feeling of his soul flying up in the sky.

When this illusion disappeared, he was surprised to find himself lying beside the car’s trunk. The knife had obliquely flown far away and then severe pain came to his body. He first felt a pile of hard bumps on the mouth. He knew it was the punch that had taken out his teeth. The powerful smell of blood flooded his senses.

”Gollum...Gollum.” Blood flowed wildly from Liu Zi’s mouth and nose, his frightened eyes looking at the culprit.

”Wuwu..! Chen Fan, you finally came!” Weeping with joy, Wu Ruoyu put her arms around Chen Fan’s waist. Her tears were falling like strings of pearls.

The gray jacket guy, who had just risen from the bottom of the car, felt as if a temple bell had been banged so hard that his head was buzzing.

He instantly understood he was cheated. They mistook it as a race crash. More than half of the car just blocked the road, leaving only a part of the road to pass through. All this was actually the twenty-year-old fellow’s act.

The idea may not have been brilliant, but neither of them would have guessed it was all about saving lives. Because it was too difficult, if ten people were to repeat his action, nine would be unable to save anyone. Instead, he would need others to save him.

”Good... good...” Gray jacket guy kicked the lifting jack that was in his way, clapping as he walked to the side of the road. His left hand flapped open his jacket and his right hand conveniently pulled out a 30-centimeter knife from his lower back.

”Stay back!” Chen Fan gently pushed Wu Ruoyu backward and then pulled Kunwu out, provoking him. There was no threat from the one who was thrown away, and now there was no concern they might hurt Wu Ruoyu. Chen Fan was one hundred percent sure that he could take down the man with the knife.

The gray jacket guy spat out a sigh, failing miserably at a very easy task—seeing if he could slay both of them. Otherwise, when they got back, they could immediately provide clues to the police and establish his identity.

With a strong shout, the gray jacket guy pointed a dazzling knife and dashed to Chen Fan’s neck with a clean set of movements.

Kachang! The eyes of the gray jacket guy were rigid and shocked. He looked at his hand; the high profiled trident fighting knife was cut off.

He was stunned, but due to the agility of long training, he managed to save his own life. He avoided the dagger that was about to stab him and by tightening his right leg, he aimed to kick his opponent’s crotch.

Bang! Chen Fan’s leg bent and lifted, blocking the leg with his thigh muscle.

The grey jacket guy didn’t hit his target, but immediately raised his fist to smash Chen Fan’s head.

All he saw was a black dagger with its intricate patterns, laid across his neck, sticking him in place.

As soon as he tried speaking, the grey jacket guy was hit by Chen Fan’s elbow on the joint between his left cheek and neck.

Dong!

After a dull thud, the grey jacket guy was like a stake with rotten wood, plodding down the road.

This move was the kind that he learned from Wang Bing, a technique the recruit used to kill an enemy, but Chen Fan did not use full strength. He just smashed the guy to knock him out for a few hours.

”Hu!” After fighting against two people, Chen Fan turned to look for Wu Ruoyu. He hadn’t seen the fallen robber getting up again and taking Wu Ruoyu away while Chen Fan was not looking.

As he passed the boy who was lying nearby clutching his mouth and howling, Chen Fan left a footprint on his stomach. He howled and rolled around in a huddle.

Wu Ruoyu stood not far away. When she saw Chen Fan turn his head, she immediately dashed into Chen Fan’s arms.

”It’s alright, it’s alright,” Chen Fan said as he cradled the shivering Wu Ruoyu into his arms and stroked the back of her head with his left hand.

”I... I thought I would... never seen again... the sun tomorrow…” Wu Ruoyu buried her face in Chen Fan’s chest and sobbed.

”The results are clear. You can see the sun tomorrow!” Chen Fan patted her on the shoulder with a smile. ”I had already followed you even before you reached Changlong mountain. The traffic was too heavy and I had no other way, so I decided to just follow until I arrived at this path. I decided to pass.”

”Then... Then... Why didn’t I notice you? I almost ran after you when I saw your car pass, and then I heard you slam on the brakes and hit a rock. How could you be so reckless? Are you hurt?”

”I was about fifty meters behind you, but my lights were not on. There was no one on the road. I just depended on your light!” Chen Fan gently wiped the tears away from her cheeks with his cuff, looked at her very closely and with a sly smile said, ”Yes, I had a big injury! After the crash, I immediately let go of the seatbelt and jumped down. I fell down when I ran onto the grass to find the stone.”

”Where?” Embarrassed, Wu Ruoyu lowered her head. The two of them were too close. Her heartbeat gradually slowed down and she felt embarrassment in the air!

”Behind!” Chen Fan’s eyes were sly. He turned and exposed his whole back to Wu Ruoyu.

Although Chen Fan was prepared, under the heavy impact just now he still felt dizzy. However, in times of crisis, Chen Fan could only clench his teeth hard and fight. He released the tight seatbelt, lifted his head from the airbag, opened the door and ran in the bushes.

Unexpectedly, he stepped on a stone while running and flew two meters across. Fortunately, Chen Fan twisted his body in mid-air and landed on his back to reduce the damage. If it had been only grass, Chen Fan would have had no injury, but he had hit the small stones and the stone’s edges made two long bloody marks on his back.

”Does... Does it hurt?” Wu Ruoyu burst into tears. The two wounds, about 20 centimeters long, were half a centimeter deep.

”Psst... Don’t touch it!” Chen Fan grinned into a cold shiver. Could it not hurt? It’s just because the beauty was beside him, so he clenched his teeth and bore the pain!

”Then hurry to the hospital!” Wu Ruoyu pulled Chen Fan’s arm into the car.

”Wait!” Chen Fan shook his head. ”I can still bear the pain. First, clear the mess.”

After listening to Chen Fan, Wu Ruoyu only then realized that there were two people lying on the ground and a car that should be delivered to the scrapyard.

”These two... How should we deal with them?” Wu Ruoyu followed Chen Fan with trepidation. The trauma they had caused her was too great.

Chen Fan thought for a while, then took out the phone to dial Wang Bing’s number and had him hurry over.

After hanging up the phone, Chen Fan pulled off the belts of the two unlucky souls on the ground and tied their hands and feet together.

”It’s too cold outside. Let me take you to sit in the car.” Wu Ruoyu held Chen Fan’s arm like helping an old woman across the street.

As both of them climbed into the back seat, Wu Ruoyu pulled out a clean towel from the front storage box and told Chen Fan to take off his coat and lie on her lap.

”It’s okay… it’s okay. The more you touch, the more painful it gets, leave it so. We will get it done when we get back.”

”Then I’ll cover the wound for you first!” Wu Ruoyu folded the towel and pressed it against Chen Fan’s back.

Wang Bing came quickly by taxi. In less than an hour, he rushed from the dark mountain road to Chen Fan. Chen Fan asked him to get out of the cab a little way off and then run over. Otherwise, the taxi driver would immediately report it to the police if he saw two people tied up on the ground.

”Boss, did somebody rob you?” Wang Bing stared at the broken BMW and then at the two people lying on the ground. His eyes were full of sadness. It wasn’t the pain of seeing the boss hurt, it was the pain of the BMW that looked like it had just been ravaged by transformers.

”Robbery? Yeah, right!” Chen Fan said the matter over again avoiding the serious part.

”You get the job done here. The two of them were most likely the men who robbed the gold shop, which was shown on TV at noon.” Chen Fan grinned and put his hands on his waist. The pain in his back was now killing him even when he made only a little movement.

Wang Bing was saving the Audi A4 with the lifting jack and hoisted out his head. ”Boss, do you want to tell the police they also carjacked Wu Ruoyu?”

”What do you think?” Chen Fan asked Wu Ruoyu, who was holding his arm.

”Leave it... Anyway, they robbed the gold shop, and one of them was seriously injured. It is enough to be sentenced to life!” Wu Ruoyu shook her head.

”Then boss, I’ll get them out of the way and hide them. You can call and have the car towed away.” Wang Bing took out two stones from the bottom of the A4 car and patted them on the palm of his hand.

”Well!” Chen Fan nodded and called the shipyard’s Jiang Shui. He said he hit a rock and asked him to bring two employees in a van to tow the car away.

”I’ll leave this to you!” Chen Fan groaned and ducked into Wu Ruoyu’s car.

When Wu Ruoyu left with Chen Fan, Wang Bing went to the two men and crouched down, cracking his knuckles.

”Two young thieves, you have guts,” he said. Wang Bing smiled and patted both of them. ”I heard anyone that sends you to the police can get a 30,000 RMB reward!”

When Liu Zi heard they were about to be sent to the police station, they threw themselves at Wang Bing’s feet like toads. Wang Bing couldn’t even get them off his leg after a few shakes. He was very depressed and was in a bad mood. He suddenly grew enraged and knocked the guy over with a backhand.

Looking at the messy bundling method, Wang Bing shook his head and then slowly loosened the bundle. One of them, who just wanted to run, was hit to the floor with a palm and was strapped up again with the belt. Wang Bing gave a sinister smile.

”Come, I’ll give you a taste of split-tendons and dislocated hands!”

.....................

Chen Fan said the injury on his back was neither serious nor mild. When he arrived at the hospital, Chen Fan refused to let the doctor sew the wound, only asking him to clean the wound and bandage it.

The doctor did not insist, and after prescribing several anti-inflammatory powders, told him to use them once a day until the wound scabbed.

It was past eleven o’clock at night when Wu Ruoyu sent Chen Fan home. In order not to wake Yunmeng, Chen Fan opened the door and entered the room like a thief.

After being nervous for a long time, Chen Fan laid down on the bed and in no time, slept and snored.

The next morning, at eight o’clock...

Chen Fan grinned. Inside his mouth was a small steamed bun Yunmeng had bought in the morning. His posture was stiff like a statue.

A 52-inch LCD was broadcasting a ”morning news” special feature. A plump female host was excited to interview several policemen. Her tone was like waves surging, her chest going dramatically up and down. At the bottom of the screen, the caption also seemed to have gone mad and was keep repeating, ”Justice has long arms! Two criminals who robbed the gold shop yesterday were captured by a brave citizen of our city near Canglong mountain.”

”F*ck, this bad?” Chen Fan grunted. Two faces that looked pitiful on the screen, like two men who just crawled out of their graves, were being escorted into a police car by the police. Nearby, a public security officer who looked like the leader, explained the incident.

Both of the robbers had panicked expressions. Their clothes were stained with weeds and mud. The original color of the clothes was completely covered. It looked as though they had encountered a Tauren tribe, then had been made to work. They did not look like they had encountered a kind, good citizen like the police said!

For the sake of the safety, the police did not say who was the citizen was. They just briefed about the story, saying the good citizen was someone who had just honorably retired from military. When he went to watch ”Night Pearl” in the Black Dragon Mountain in the evening, halfway there he met the two gangsters and then after a hard struggle, finally captured the robbers.

Of course, Wang Bing did not mention Wu Ruoyu’s case and the gangsters were happy about it. They were even ready to carry it to the end and would never admit robbing a gold shop if the there was no full and solid evidence presented.

Just then, the doorbell chimed and when Chen Fan went down he saw that Wu Ruoyu, dressed in a brown windbreaker, was standing at the door.

”Does it still hurt?” Wu Ruoyu held Chen Fan lightly in her arms.

”I can still walk, small matter!” Chen Fan grinned and did not break away from her. ”This small injury does not constitute any obstacles for a man.”

”Okay...Okay…” Wu Ruoyu helped Chen Fan into the living room, found the medicine that the doctor prescribed and let Chen Fan lay on the sofa. She gently lifted the gauze on his back. The dark red blood clung to the gauze, pulling it gently. There was quite a lot of blood immediately oozing out.

She gently wiped off the oozing blood with a cotton ball, then slowly spread the medicine over it.

The wound was slightly painful and a bit cool and uncomfortable. Chen Fan blew out a cool breath. The expression on his face was unreadable whether it was painful or comfortable.

A wisp of hair slid down behind his ear, and Wu Ruoyu reached out her hand and touched his hair. ”Is it still painful?” The tone was somewhat painful and reproachful. Then she blew lightly onto the wound. ”Is that better?”

”Oh, don’t blow, it’s itchy!” Chen Fan wiggled a few times.

Wu Ruoyu took a piece of clean gauze and put it on. After it had been covered with medical tape, she helped Chen Fan to put on his coat and sat there with her eyes in the mist.

”Chen Fan, take my car!” Wu Ruoyu pulled out a key from her pocket. ”When my uncle comes back, I’ll ask him to lend me money to buy you another car.”

”No, just send the car to the garage for repair.” Chen Fan put the key back into Wu Ruoyu’s hand. ”I have ordered a better one. It will arrive tomorrow.”

”How can that be? You took the risk to save me.” Wu Ruoyu shook her head.

”Don’t say that. How boring it is to fight against each other!” Chen Fan casually found a topic to interrupt. ”You called yesterday to say you have something to ask. What was it?”

When Chen Fan mentioned this, Wu Ruoyu suddenly remembered her original intention.

”I... I want you to go to America and get something back for me.

”It was commissioned by a friend of mine. I actually intended on using my uncle’s freighter. But my uncle told me the U.S. customs is very strict about taking some of the contraband goods,” Wu Ruoyu said, embarrassed.

”America?” Chen Fan thought for a moment and felt that it was not a big problem. The electric eel’s last trip also went into the territorial sea. He could be consignor as long as the goods could be sent to the designated place and the electric eel could safely get the goods back.

”So what’s your friend transporting?”
