Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 969: Location of the Soul Flame Fruit

In the end, Commander Agnes decided to trust Kent, with some reservations, of course.

She first retrieved an item from her space ring and presented it to Kent.

”This is a Blood Oath stone,” Commander Agnes said. ”Before we continue, you must sign a blood contract that you will not betray me after sharing what I know with you.

Also, in the event that we manage to retrieve the Soul Flame Fruit, you must keep my true identity a secret and also help me tame a Tier 19 beast like you promised.

Should something happen and this alliance can’t continue, we will go our separate ways, and this oath will be void.

However, if you go against your words, then you will die an agonising death, one that you don’t wish to experience.”

”Wow, we haven’t known each other for long, and you are already pulling out a marriage contract,” Kent joked, looking at the Blood Oath stone in Commander Agnes’s hands.

”I have to applaud how meticulous you are. However, how do I know you wouldn’t betray me?” Kent asked.

”Take the stone and state your claim. Once we get everything in order, we can then sign the oath.” Commander Agnes handed the stone to Kent, who received it with a raised brow.

He could sense the power coming from the stone, and even though he knew he wouldn’t go against his words, the power he felt told him to be careful.

This is also the reason why he decided to make sure the lady doesn’t hold one over him.

”Should the case we manage to get the Soul Flame Fruits, however many we get, they will be shared equally among us. Also, if we get only one, I will hold on to it and deliberate who gets to have it once we leave this place.

Of course, if I were to steal it, the oath should claim my life. Also, if you were to plot against me after we leave here, the oath should destroy the fruit.”

Commander Agnes raised her brow, hearing how precise Kent was in stating his claim.

If he were betrayed, the only thing that would make him a target is the fruit, so Kent wanted it destroyed, and both parties would lose what they were after.

”Lastly, if things go sideways, we both should take the loss and go our separate ways.

Whoever breaks this oath, if not killed by the Blood Oath, may the wrath of the goddess of hatred and resentment descend on them.”

This time, Commander Agnes’s expression changed. She could sense how serious Kent was, and thus she couldn’t help but wonder just what kind of existence he was to have the audacity to invoke the wrath of a god.

If only she knew somewhere in the heavens, a pair of eyes looked down on Planet Cosima, and for a moment, an amused expression appeared in the eyes of this person.

However, a minute later, a mind-numbing confusion struck, and this goddess, who had always been bored and angry at everything, started to take notice of a handsome purple-haired brat who held a smug smile on his face.

’I wonder if Vexthra will remember today.’ Kent coughed, masking his laughter. ’I will ask her when I go back to the future.’

”So, are you ready to sign the oath?” Kent asked, and Commander Agnes nodded.

They both put their blood on the stone, and it glowed red for a few seconds before returning to normal. Then it dispersed and divided into two red dust particles, entering both Kent and Commander Agnes’s foreheads.

”Before we start, should I continue calling you Commander Agnes, or should I use Princess Autumn?” Kent asked.

”Commander Agnes will do. And please, don’t tell anyone my identity even after this alliance ends.”

”Alright.” Kent didn’t have to be told to know that some secrets are meant to be kept quiet. ”On that note, why don’t you tell me what you know about this Soul Flame Fruit?”

”120 years ago, before his world was taken over by the planet king, a general from Planet Veylun found a map when he was adventuring in the inner region of the Serpent’s Coil Valley, in a part called Hydra Chasms.

On the map, he discovered that in the innermost part of the Hydra Chasms, a Soul Flame tree could be found.

According to what I know, he attempted to venture deeper into the region. However, after numerous battles and losing half his team, he saw the Soul Flame tree.

However, before he and his team could get close, they were attacked by the overlord of the Hydra Chasms.

According to his records, a three-headed serpent resides there, whose attack power is so formidable that even Peak Heavenly Ascension stage warriors cannot handle it.

In the end, only he managed to make it out, but he couldn’t make it out of this place. When he met a general from Planet Nictus, who happened to be the strongest on Planet Nictus, he entrusted all he knew to her before he passed away.

We have tried many times to get fruit from that tree, but all have ended in failure.

This is our last mission; however, before we could even get anywhere, my team and I were ambushed, and at the moment, aside from me, only one of us made it out.”

”I see. Then all we have to do is go to the Hydra Chasms, kill a three-headed serpent, pluck a few fruits from a tree, and be on our way.”

Kent smiled. ”Seems easy enough.”

Commander Agnes looked at Kent’s smug expression, and a look of annoyance flashed across her face.

However, before she could say anything, Kent pointed behind her, and a sword flashed out of nowhere and flew past her head, drawing a hole through the head of a beast that was sneaking up on them.

Commander Agnes jumped up in fright. She had no idea a beast was sneaking up on her, and had it not been for Kent, by the time she had found out, things would have ended badly for her.

However, looking at the dead beast now, she sighed in relief and turned to Kent.

”Thank you,” she said.

However, as if struck by a meteor, it struck her. She turned and looked at the dead beast.

’Although it was just a Spirit Sovereign stage beast, it was still far from what could be killed with just one attack. However, even if it could be achieved with a one-shot kill, a Core Formation cultivator had no business doing that.’

She turned away from the beast and looked to Kent with a shocked expression.

Kent smiled and repeated the words he said. ”Like I said, we just have to go to this Hydra Chasm, kill a three-headed serpent, pluck a few fruits from a tree, and be on our way.”

Although Kent wasn’t flaring his aura at the moment, the aura he had around him as he stood on the stone, his purple aura flowing in the air, and a beautiful smile on his face made him appear like an immortal.

Commander Agnes looked at his posture and swallowed.

At the moment, even though Kent was merely a Core Formation stage warrior, she felt that standing behind him was the safest she could ever be.

’If he can casually kill a Tier 17 beast, then killing a Tier 18 and even a Tier 19 is not impossible.’
