Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 771: Reaching the 5th Level

After attaining weak flame comprehension, Kent increased his pace, hoping to reach the 5th level and master all techniques before the day was over.

He was moving steadily, and the progress was evident in the fact that, while he was nowhere close to attaining High Flame Resistance, he was also sure that jumping into a sea of flames wouldn’t be impossible.

His body has grown rather stubborn to heat and flames.

Meanwhile, at the 2nd level, the seven survivalists finally arrived.

It wasn’t a struggle for them to climb to the 2nd level, so they got there as quickly as they could.

”Kent said we should learn one Enhancement Flame Art, one Attacking Flame Art, and two Defense Flame Arts,” Lorin said, looking at the variety of friends she had just made.

They nodded at her words, already knowing that their mission was almost in the bag.

”Let’s get it done within five hours so we can move to the 3rd level.” With that resolve, they started looking for the flame arts they would be learning.

This time, Kent wouldn’t be selecting for them, so they had to do that themselves, though Kent was sure they would get what would benefit them in the long run.

In the world of cultivation, many believe that having the strongest attack skill would make up for the lack of defense. However, while that may be true, it only applies to swordsmen most of the time.

Swordsmen primarily focus on their sword skills and techniques that allow them to unleash lethal attacks, so they mostly just use their attacks to defend.

However, those lacking both offense and defense are bound to get crushed regardless of what one thinks.

Kent saw this and knew that, while the seven he had selected may seem like geniuses to those outside, the truth of the matter was that they weren’t. They can’t be counted among the geniuses.

However, they have something geniuses don’t think is needed, the ability to adapt. They can adapt, and that is the quality that makes them dangerous.

In battle, if your opponent manages to adapt to your combat style, skills, and techniques, the chances of you losing become high.

And that is how the survivalists fight. They adapt, and to do that, they need stronger defenses. They aren’t the brightest swordsmen who can use offense as defense.

So, he made it clear that learning more defensive techniques would work magic in the long run.

If they manage to master the Flame Art for defense, they will be able to save their skins and survive long enough to kill their opponents.

They got to work. They have 4 Flame Arts to learn.

Meanwhile, on the steps leading to the 4th level, Kella, the Elf lady, had started climbing again, already moving closer to the 60th step.

Kent helped her realize her misplaced determination.

In the quest to be like the daughters and sons of the Elven Lords, she had lost sight of how amazing she really was.

She was born a genius, and that alone was reason enough for her to be okay with what she had. But reality made her believe that being as amazing as the royalty or having the best clothes to wear and a big mansion to live in was all there was.

She had been blindly chasing after something she could build for herself.

She forgot that if she one day made it into the sect and managed to make a name for herself there, the life she had always wanted would become hers.

Standing at the peak would mean she and her father would have a good life, the kind she had been looking for all these years.

She was blinded, but Kent had finally opened her eyes to the truth, and now, she wanted nothing more than to climb the stairs and create the life she wanted for herself and her father.

She wouldn’t chase after people who had it good from the start. She wouldn’t chase after the royalty who could get anything they wanted with a wave of their hand.

She wanted none of that, for she now wanted to create a life where she stood above all of them. She wanted to surpass them all, and with that determination and resolve, she was moving steadily, heading slowly to the 4th level.

Kent’s friends were still absorbing the essence of the pill they’d taken. Of course, they were moving closer to awakening an Innate Talent.

Kent didn’t know what talent they would be awakening, but he knew that since they took it while under the heat of the flame tower, their innate talents would be flame-related.

Of course, he expected something like that to happen, so he wanted them to enter the tower first before taking the pills.

If they truly managed to awaken a flame-related innate talent, then this year’s batch of half-elves would dominate the entire world, for they would become some of the most dangerous cultivators in the world.

This would also mean Kent would be getting much more soul essence. Ultimately, it was all about the soul’s essence.

Kent, on the other hand, was moving closer to the 5th level. He had already climbed to the 95th step and was moving closer to the 100th.

”I wonder what will become of me after mastering divine-grade techniques. I am sure everyone will freak out, but who could blame them?

They haven’t met someone as awesome as me. If they had, they would’ve known I am no simple person.”

With the bragging rights in his hand, Kent kept moving closer to the 5th level. Slowly but surely, he managed to reach the 5th level.

The moment he stepped on the last step to the 5th level, just like with the other levels, he felt his surroundings calm down, and the heat in the air vanished.

Kent appeared in a large hall where 12 tomes hovered in the air, each housing a divine-grade flame art. Kent moved toward them and started looking at their names.

It took him just a few glances to know he had indeed stepped into the pool of powerful flame arts.

”There are four Enhancement Flame Arts, five Attacking Flame Arts, and three Defensive Flame Arts.”

Kent, note down the name of the techniques and choose to learn an enhancement-type technique.

Within five minutes, he learned all five forms of the technique.

”Well, that is just too great. With a tap, I was able to learn such a powerful divine grade flame art.” Kent activated the first form of the ’Firestep Divine Dance,’ and his legs ignited into flames.

Instantly, Kent felt his speed soar, giving him the means to move twice as fast as before. But that was just the first form, ’Flame Foot.’

Kent quickly activated the second form, and the flame around his legs turned into combat boots, increasing his speed to three times his original speed.

”Holy smokes... Just this alone is enough to dance between attacks.” Kent laughed, feeling the rush of speed. He then activated the third form, and the shoes grew flame wings.

”Damn, when moving through the air, my speed increases by four times. That is enough to make me nearly invisible to the naked eye.”

The fourth form of the skill turns the winged shoes into jet shoes. A thruster appeared beneath the shoe, pushing Kent’s speed to eight times his original speed.

Then came the ultimate form, which turns the shoes into two rings on both the left and right legs. At that very moment, Kent felt like he could move at a speed that would be nearly impossible to track.

”Damn... this is good.”
