Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 298: No, He Did Not

A legendary grade item has just been sold, but instead of everyone talking about that, their focus was rather shifted to a different thing, and it was Kent’s short conversation with the sword king.

That is more shocking than the ten billion that had just been spent.

They clearly heard him call the mysterious figure Sword King, and the person didn’t reject his claims, which meant they were true. He was indeed a sword king, and somehow, Kent figured it out,

But that can be pushed aside.

What couldn’t be pushed aside was the fact that the sword King had invited Kent to a drink to talk about the sword.

That, that right here, is something that cannot be ignored.

”Did he just have a casual conversation with a Sword King and even get an invite to have a drink with him?” someone from one of the VIP rooms asked.

”No, he did not...right?”

But it was true.

Kent had just received an invite from a Sword King, someone at a level many would kill to reach.

Not only had Kent gained an invite from one of the three Sword Kings, but from the way they spoke, it was clear that the Sword King held no malice toward him despite being outbid.

Inside VIP room 13, the ladies turned toward Kent with shocked expressions.

”What?” Kent asked with a cheeky smile.

”You just got an invite from a Sword King. Why aren’t you shocked?” Gate Master Mara asked.

”Because he threw out bait, and I fell for it, so why look shocked? Plus, he’s a senior and the owner of the armor, so in a way, this is something he should be more pleased about than me,” Kent said, shocking the ladies.

”Wait, he’s the owner of the armor?” Gate Master Camilla asked.

”Yes. I could tell from the way he was bidding—he wasn’t really aiming to buy. He was just baiting me to buy, and well, I fell for it. But I think his endgame was to invite me to a sit-down.”

”But why? Why would someone like him invite a mere Sword Grandmaster to sit down with him? This just doesn’t make sense,” Saintess Val said, voicing what everyone was hesitant to say. Discover stories with

In the grand scheme of things, Kent was insignificant compared to a Sword King. So why, then, invite him?

”Have you ever heard the saying, ’Birds of a feather flock together’?” Kent said, almost breaking into resounding laughter.

”Are you saying you and he are on the same level?” Saintess Val asked again. Though her statement sounded rude, she was right to ask that.

Kent is a junior, so why would a senior invite him to have a sit-down? He clearly wasn’t on the same level as him.

”Nope. I cannot measure up to him in any way. However, when it comes to intellect, though I am still a junior, he could tell I am someone worth talking to.

So don’t be jealous, my dear servant. If you are a good girl, I will ensure you one day rise to my level,” Kent said.

He had received the next quest after making her his servant, so, as he said, he would make her someone worthy of respect no matter where she found herself.

But the shameless way he said it left the ladies smirking.

The ladies rolled their eyes, but they would need some time to adjust to the sudden turn of events.

Kent just sighed and leaned back, placing his head on Selene’s chest. His head rested on her boobs, causing the gate masters to look at him weirdly.

The bait set by the Sword King was rather genius.

Kent would be lying if he said he expected this. During the war between the Sword King and Gate Master Camilla, he had, from time to time, felt a gaze fall on him.

At first, he pegged it as one of those idiots who came after him the night before. But as time went by and it kept returning, he started to get interested.

Then Alina suggested that he show off and perhaps that will allow him to meet the real owner of the auction house.

So he just assumed this was a win for him.

However, when he spoke those lines of text before he placed the bid, he felt the gaze in full form, and for a moment, he hesitated.

But then he just went for it, and the outcome now brought the auction to a halt.

”This year’s auction is showing more than we paid for. I am okay already, even if today was the last day. Being in the same room with a Sword King is already asking too much.”

”True, I am already accomplished. If I were to die right now, I wouldn’t have any complaints.”

The people started making their shameless remarks, and for a moment there, one could tell they were indeed happy.

Twenty minutes after the first legendary item was sold, the next was brought, and this time, the war lasted for only 40 minutes before the item was bought for 700 million.

It was a cloak that hid a person’s presence for a given amount of time.

The person who bought it was a young lady who, when Kent spied on her using his eyes, appeared to have a presence that was non-existent.

It was like she wasn’t alive, yet alive at the same time. He knew someone like her would be a terrifying assassin who could not be underestimated.

Then, the next item was brought, and that also sold for 950 million. This was a dagger that was bought by the same lady.

One could say she came for those two items, considering they were all things any assassin would cherish.

The dagger allows her to ignore 60% of the defense and deal true damage that, in no way, will make one’s skin crawl.

This time, Kent paid more attention to the lady and made sure she was fully captured in his mind before he pulled away.

The lady, who sensed someone spying on her, smirked and looked in Kent’s direction.

”We will meet in the sect competition, Monster of the Sword Gate,” she muttered coldly.

After the last item was sold, a pill was brought to the stage, and after just the first line of speech, the entire auction hall became wild.
