Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 297: Offer from a Sword King

”900 million...” Gate Master Camilla said, now locked in a bidding war against four people, each refusing to back down from the fight.

The allure of owning the dragon scale armour was something they wouldn’t let slip away easily. Kent sat quietly in his chair, staring at the Gate Master, who was playing it safe.

In her eyes, she wouldn’t repeat what Kent had done on the first day when he placed a bid and, just to provoke some people, chose to increase it unnecessarily.

She was prepared to battle them until the last second.

Right now, the four bidders, unsure if they could push the bid into the billions, began to realize this round might not be theirs—yet they couldn’t bring themselves to back down.

”1 billion,” a figure in VIP Room 39 announced, causing everyone to inhale sharply. The price had entered the billions, and they all knew this was where most bids typically ended.

”1.1 billion!” Gate Master Camilla shouted, and all eyes turned toward Kent’s VIP room.

They could tell he was inside, but he wasn’t bidding, meaning he had withdrawn from the race before it even began. However, one of the ladies accompanying him was determined not to back down.

”1.2 billion,” the figure in VIP Room 39 declared again, throwing in his bid. But it was futile, as the Gate Master was swimming in someone else’s money.

”1.3 billion,” she added, raising the bid by another 100 million.

⟪Sweetheart, it looks like your generosity is unmatched,⟫ Alina said, delighted to be on track to selling a second item in the billions. Kent let a smile appear on his lips.

⟪Where I am from, there is a saying that you invest now and cash out later. This is merely an investment for the future,⟫ Kent replied, his smile widening.

⟪Then why don’t you make it so she knows this investment is something she can never pay back?⟫ Alina suggested with a playful smile on her lips. The price had already risen to 1.6 billion.

⟪Are you thinking what I am thinking?⟫ Kent asked, and Alina, standing on the stage, smiled broadly.

To all those watching, this was a spectacle to behold, but to Kent, this was his lady trying to extort money from him with motives that were far from pure.

⟪This is just a way for you to cement your standing and make me gain more profit than one could ask for. If you’re lucky, you might even gain an invite from the owner of the auction—the real owner.

And let me tell you, gaining an invite from her will be worth more than anything you buy here. So make it look good,⟫ Alina said.

⟪I know having an auctioneer as a wife would go a long way. I’ll be sure to reward you this evening,⟫ Kent replied.

⟪You better not break your promise, then,⟫ Alina said, and Kent sighed.

’Gaining an invite from the real owner of the auction houses. Who could this person be?’ Kent wondered. ’Well, the person is a she. I guess I will listen to my woman then’ Kent smiled Your journey continues with

He knew this was a long shot, but he wasn’t about to find out the hard way, so he chose to play the good guy again.

The bid was now at 2.4 billion, and the two parties couldn’t find a compromise. So, the dragon stepped in to save them the hassle.

”Since the armor doesn’t seem to have an owner, allow me to take it off your hands,” he said with a cheeky smile.

”I bid 10 billion.”

The moment Kent’s bid landed, everyone turned toward VIP Room 13.

”Ten billion? Just where is this brat getting his money from? Ten billion is more than enough to buy three Legendary-grade items,” someone shouted, causing others to nod in agreement.

”This brat sure has some money. I wonder who his backer is,” another person said.

”Haven’t you heard? Last night, some people went after him, but here he is, alive and breathing. Rumor even has it that the assassins sent after him never returned. So, as for his backer, only the heavens know.”

”I know this brat. He’s the same guy who defeated the Sword Saint from the Everlasting Immortal Sword Sect in a sword duel.”

”No way. So, he’s the monster from the Divine Palace Sect? The one people are saying to look out for in the upcoming sect competition?”

”Yes, the same person. I wonder what his background is.”

Just like that, Kent’s identity was discovered, and everyone started talking about him.

The brat who, since yesterday, had kept breaking battles was now on everyone’s radar.

”The bid is set at ten billion. Are there any more bids?” Alina asked, looking toward VIP room 39.

”Hahaha, youngsters of today sure have deep pockets,” a figure laughed.

”I will be dropping out of this race. However, can I ask this young junior for a drink later, after the auction ends tomorrow? I heard you are a genius with the sword, so why don’t we have a drink and discuss the sword?”

The voice was that of an old person, and it contained no malice. It was genuine.

”I don’t mind having a drink with a senior. Talking with a Sword King such as yourself will be more than I could ask for,” Kent said with a smile.

He could tell the person was looking at him as if he were right in front of him.

”Hahaha. It seems the rumours didn’t exaggerate; you indeed are a genius. To see through my disguise that easily, it seems I will be enlightened from this talk. Then it’s set—after the auction tomorrow, we will have a drink and spend some time talking about the sword.”

”I will be there,” Kent replied and then signalled to Alina to end the bidding.

”Since there are no more bids, this armor is sold to the gentleman in VIP room 13,” she declared, but nobody made a comment.

Well, nobody had the mind to think of a comment, considering something had just happened that they simply could not comprehend.

”Did he just say Sword King...? There are only three Sword Kings in this continent, so which one did he talk to?” someone suddenly remarked, and the auction was brought to a pause.
