Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 184: Unexpected Chain Quest

Saintess Neomi stared at Kent for a few minutes, then she lowered her spear and put it away. She sighed and looked into his eyes.

”You can’t tell anyone about her eyes. This world is a dangerous place, and if people find out she has Void Eyes, she will be targeted... even by kings.”

Vexthra had told Kent that Sonox was not a normal medium-level world. In fact, she even mentioned that she was from this world, and just like the path Kent was about to walk, he would have to rise through the world by ascending at every turn.

However, she never explained what made Sonox, unlike every other world.

After all, it had been millions of years since she left, ascended to a high world, and later became a goddess. Now, however, Kent was beginning to understand some things.

”If you don’t mind, can I know why people would target her? She is a core disciple; wouldn’t the sect protect her?” Kent asked. ”I mean, someone with such a powerful eye shouldn’t be taken lightly, right?”

When Kent first met Ingrid, the tower hadn’t awakened back then, so he had only managed to identify the name of her eyes. But now that it had awakened, he knew much more.

However, the way Saintess Neomi was saying it implied that the sect wasn’t the right place for her. Damn, even the kingdom as a whole wasn’t the right place for her.

”Your master has probably warned you about something, but it seems she did a poor job. Now, I want you to listen to me and listen carefully... In this world, especially in this sect, you can’t just trust anyone.

In fact, you are currently in big trouble. The prowess you’ve shown during the trial will attract all kinds of attention, and while some may come with good intentions, you shouldn’t trust them.

Everyone who approaches you, in one way or another, will be after your talent. If they get their hands on you, that will be the end for you. Not even the sect can help you...

Believe it or not, some people in this sect would rather pull you down than see you succeed. You don’t understand yet, but this world is all about who is stronger, who has the most power, and who controls the most resources.

Having a wild card with overwhelming prowess running around is not something anyone would want. In fact, the only thing you will experience from now on is the constant scheming of those who want you gone.

”Even if you have the backing of the sect, who’s to say those you trust won’t stab you in the back? In this world, you cannot let just anyone in on your secret.

My disciple is special, and so, aside from me, not even her family is aware of her Void Eyes... Well, I guess now it’s just you, me, and her who know this.”

”I see. Then rest assured I won’t tell anyone of her unique set of eyes. After all, I wouldn’t want to put the disciples of masters sister to get into trouble,” Kent said, making Saintess Neomi nod.

In truth, had Kent not been the disciple of her sister, she would, without a doubt, drive her spear through his heart.

Ingrid’s eyes are very special, in fact.

The Void’s eyes on her make her one of the scariest people out there. Though Kent didn’t know just how deeply she had mastered her void eyes, the tower gave him details that made him want to get some, too.

The Void eyes are a special set of eyes only a race of beings that had long gone instinct possesses.

The Voidlings.

They are a race of body cultivation that specialises in mind cultivation. They only cultivate their minds, making them some of the strongest beings with powerful mental abilities.

They use their eyes as a conduit to harness their mind attacks.

Of course, one can say they are normal in a way, but Voidlings are perhaps one of the most unkillable beings in the cosmos. They possess a unique energy called the Energy of the Void. Basically, they have a unique affinity to the Void.

So, while she could see through formations and even thicker walls, that was just a natural part of her Void Eyes.

In fact, if she manages to upgrade her mind to the next level after the initial steps, she will become someone who can use just her mind to bring down an entire army.

Looking into her eyes will make one’s heart tremble and break minds. She is very scary, to say the least.

’How I wish there was a way to acquire those eyes’, Kent sighed, but then his eyes widened when a message appeared.

Kent was momentarily taken aback but remained composed. He knew an opportunity had presented itself, but whether he could easily pass now depended on how he acted in the next moment.

Kent, of course, was ready for a challenge, mainly due to how unexpected his welcome to the sect had been. In fact, he had expected a much warmer reception.

But that didn’t mean he wasn’t thrilled by what he had been through. Though mundane, it had excited him, so he chose to continue.

For now, he would find a way to become her friend, aiming to get into her good graces—or perhaps more.

”You seem to care about your disciple a lot. Care to tell me more about her?” Kent, ever composed, decided to dive right in. His question made the Saintess raise an eyebrow.

”Why? You want to know more about her so you can get into her pants?” the Saintess asked, her cold eyes fixed on Kent.

Kent smiled and, in an unexpected manner, replied, ”You read my mind. Now, care to share how I can go about that?”

And just like that, a friendship that would one day unveil countless secrets and change both their lives began—with Kent getting beaten up by a Saintess.
