Earth's Greatest Magus

The Magus realm represented a monumental stage in an individual’s cultivation journey. It was the point where the soul fully entered the spirit core, transforming the body into that of a Magus. This achievement required an immense amount of spirit energy and a solid grasp of the laws of the universe.

Emery stood in silence, observing the profound transformation taking place in his two students. Their bodies were visibly glowing, radiating power as they absorbed the potent energy of the spring. He watched as their souls successfully entered their spirit cores, forming what was unmistakably their Magus cores—a sure sign of a genuine breakthrough.

Kingrig’s reaction was dramatic. A surge of dark lightning erupted from his body, crackling and arcing wildly across the spring, accompanied by his agitated screams. The energy seemed almost too much for him to handle as it coursed through him, reshaping his body and soul.

Ha Ron, on the other hand, exhibited a stark contrast. He stood motionless, his body trembling slightly as he focused his entire being on comprehending the law that resonated deeply within his breakthrough. His calm demeanor belied the tremendous energy swirling within him.

When Ha Ron finally opened his eyes, they gleamed with newfound clarity. Without hesitation, he instinctively drew his sword, moving through his techniques, each swing of the blade carried the weight of his new understanding.

Meanwhile, Kingrig gradually calmed down. He took a deep breath, settled into a lotus position, and entered meditation. The once-chaotic lightning around him now danced gently, signaling his growing control over the energy within.

Emery stood firm, ensuring nothing disturbed their process. For more than an hour, he remained a vigilant guardian, his senses on high alert. Finally, the two emerged from their state of enlightenment.

“Master, I did it… I’ve reached the Magus realm,” Ha Ron said, his voice brimming with awe. “My body feels incredible, so full of energy!”

Kingrig, still marveling at his transformation, tested his newfound ability to hover above the ground. “This is amazing!” he exclaimed, his glee unmistakable. “Master, we should’ve brought the whole class here!”

Emery chuckled at their enthusiasm but quickly shifted his focus to analyze their conditions.

As expected, both had reached the New Moon stage of the Magus realm, the equivalent of the first stage in Tartarus’ Moon Realm system. Emery noted that while their breakthroughs were relatively premature, they were far from failures. In the grand scheme of Magus cultivation, where breakthroughs could take decades or even centuries, this was nothing short of extraordinary.

Their battle power had multiplied, and their spells would undoubtedly be more potent. However, Emery reminded them that their journey was far from over.

“Now that you’ve reached the Magus realm, you have centuries to deepen your understanding of the laws.”

“Yes, Master,” they responded in unison, their expressions filled with determination.

As they continued their discussion, Emery’s attention shifted to Shinta, who emerged from the spring. Draped in her robe, she approached the group, her expression composed and devoid of emotion.

“Congratulations,” she said flatly, her tone polite but distant.

Concerned, Emery immediately moved to check on her condition. He sensed that her spirit energy had surged during her time in the spring. Her nine pillars were glowing with immense potential, teetering on the edge of a breakthrough. Yet, she had held herself back, deliberately preventing the next step.

“Why didn’t you—” Emery asked.

“It’s not time yet,” Shinta interrupted, her tone firm. She glanced at the two boys, her gaze sharp. “You two can be proud of your progress, but when I breakthrough, it won’t be to the New Moon. I’ll go straight to the Crescent Moon stage—no half-measures!”

Her words were spoken with confidence, but Emery detected a hint of jealousy in her tone. Having grown up on Ouroboros, a planet rich in opportunities, Shinta had learned how to manage fluctuations of spirit energy from various sources. She was no stranger to power, nor to the discipline required to wield it.

Moments later, a fairy approached them, her delicate wings fluttering as she smiled warmly. “Congratulations on reaching adulthood,” she said, addressing the two boys.

The remark served as a humbling reminder of the vast differences in perspective between realms. In Emery’s homeland, reaching the Magus realm was celebrated as a monumental achievement, an ascension to near-godhood in the eyes of many civilizations. Yet here, in the Tartarus realm, such a milestone was regarded merely as a rite of passage into adulthood—a simple, expected step in one’s journey.

Determined to maximize the opportunity provided by the Whispering Willows, Emery decided to extend their stay by a few more days. This time was not spent idly. Emery immersed himself in studying the spring and its remarkable properties, hoping to uncover the secrets of its vitality.

Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the spring’s potent energy originated from deep within the mountain itself. It was a natural marvel, brimming with raw spirit energy, maintained and safeguarded by the diligent care of fairies. The intricate balance of nature and magic here was awe-inspiring—a perfect harmony of the elements.

What intrigued Emery further was the discovery that the Whispering Willows was not a solitary phenomenon. At least six other villages dotted the region, each boasting its own version of a Whispering Spring. The interconnectedness of these springs spoke of an underlying natural network that sustained the land’s rich energy. By the fifth day, their group had thoroughly enjoyed the village’s hospitality and reaped the spring’s benefits. Emery felt rejuvenated, his understanding of nature energy slightly enhanced from his extended soak.

It was finally time to move on.

With their spirits high and their abilities significantly improved, the group departed the tranquil village, resuming their journey toward the capital city of Padera.
