Cursed Immortality

Chapter 900 Threat of Star Network!

Jacob exited the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm, and the Soul Star Watch reappeared on his wrist. Since he agreed to let Nyx into the Virtual Star World and created the ground rules in case she succeeded, now was the moment of truth.

As for the heated moment between Nyx and him, from start to finish, Jacob never even mentioned it as if nothing had transpired, making Nyx confused.

”Alright, Iʼve removed my ID from the star watch. You can try now.” Jacob stated.

”W-what?” Nyxʼs absent-mindedly replied before she quickly said, ”Oh! Iʼm ready!”

Although she was still quite confused, the matter of entering the Virtual Star World still excited her, and she quickly focused on it.

The next moment, Jacob felt familiar, yet a foreign soul force suddenly stirred in his body. Jacob always wondered where the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm or Nyx was in his soul since, despite progressing so much in his soul, he never found any traces of it or Nyxʼs existence.

So, Jacob determined that the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm had completely fused with his soul and was an indispensable part of it that couldnʼt be removed, and they were a single entity, just like Nyx had told him before.

But then, why would Nyx have her own storage of Soul Force and Magic Power? Now that Nyx was using her soul force through his body for the first time, he clearly felt that her soul forceʼs characteristic was different, but it was familiar as if it was his own.

ʼShe said the law she awakened through evolution, not comprehended, is ʼDream Lawʼ and her soul totem is actually the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm. Since my soul totem is my entire body, her soul totem is also unique like mine.

ʼBut I could only achieve it through a Universal Godly Scripture, while she inherits it with evolution… I wonder if there are other entities like her out there…ʼ

Jacobʼs thoughts were suddenly disrupted when he heard a familiar static voice in his head.

”Welcome to the Star Network!

”New user detected!

”Would you like to register your new Star ID?”

”It freaking worked!” Nyx exclaimed with ecstasy as she also heard the static voice of the Soul Star Watch, and a virtual interface also materialized above Jacobʼs wrist.

Jacob was also momentarily shocked since he wasnʼt expecting this to work. But the new user registration interface in front of him was evidence of that.

”Can you control it?” Jacob clearly implied the Soul Star watch interface.

After all, this just opened many new possibilities because if Nyx could use the star watch without his help, it would mean she could do many things independently as long as Jacob wore it, and he didnʼt like it.

But Jacob got his answer the next moment when the new user interface started to change, and the ʼYesʼ button on the interface was activated.

”Please select your Star ID Username…”

”Itʼs really working!” Nyx was over the moon, and she didnʼt notice the grave look in Jacobʼs eyes.

”[Itʼs really working] username is available!

”Do you wish to proceed with it?”

ʼShe can even communicate with it?!ʼ Jacobʼs eyes flickered fiercely as he didnʼt think Nyxʼs voice could also reach the Soul Star Watch.

”NO! I wasnʼt talking to you! Cancel it!” Nyx panicked as she realized what had happened and was greatly concerned about her username.

The interface instantly returned to the naming screen, and Nyxʼs relieved sigh could be heard.

At this moment, Jacob suddenly spoke, ”Input the name Nightmare.”

”Hey! What are you doing!?” Nyx instantly protested, but Jacob ignored her as his focus was on the interface.

But to his surprise, nothing happened, and he tried to control the Soul Star watch, but an unexpected notification popped up.

”New soul force detected!

”You wish to erase the previous soul force and proceed with yours?”

Jacob didnʼt say anything before the soul watch on his wrist vanished again, and Nyxʼs piercing voice rang in protest, ”What are you doing!? Donʼt tell me youʼre going back on your promise!”

”Just as I thought…” Jacob coldly said, ”Your soul signature is different, and now that you have activated it through yours, it can hear you, and my interference was registered as a third partyʼs. Which also means it did not consider us one entity.” Continue your saga on My Virtual Library Empire

”Oh, so thatʼs what you were doing?” Nyx sounded relieved, ”But then, isnʼt it good? I donʼt need your help to use this star watch at all. However, why did you stow it away?”

”Why?” Jacob curtly replied, ”Because Iʼm no longer sure if this thing has also heard our previous conversations. After all, I donʼt trust the Star Network, and if someone from the Star Network took an interest in me, it would be a disaster.

”But Iʼm not sure if only the Soul Star Watch is capable of it. However, I can only blame my ignorance since we found it too late. However, now that I know, we need to be very careful.

”No more conversations when Soul Star Watch is out. You can use it, but you will have to pretend Iʼm not here. Oh, and I want you to start analyzing this star watch and go through data we had collected previously.”

Nyx seemed to have calmed down after she heard Jacobʼs reason behind doing what he did and replied, ”Alright. But we couldnʼt crack the core encryption on the old star watches, which always ended up in an explosion. Our knowledge wasnʼt enough, and now this Soul Star Watch is even more powerful, and the technology behind it will be even more superior. I donʼt think we can crack it even if we gather all the knowledge in the legendary plains. But we succeed with old star watch.”

Jacob didnʼt retort since he knew Nyx wasnʼt making things up. The Star Watch was something he had been interested in for a long time, and he always wanted to find its secrets but always failed.

But the Soul Star Watch had surprised him, so his interest was rekindled.

”Well, previously, I wasnʼt trying enough since I was taking it as a side project, but I canʼt ignore the Star Network anymore since they are a huge variable, and itʼs concerned my safety.”

Jacobʼs eyes grew cold, his thoughts unknown before he told Nyx, ”Alright, you can continue with the registration, but you need to be extra careful now.”

”I will!” Nyx quickly promised since she didnʼt want Jacob to change his mind, and this new discovery was enough reason for Jacob to stop her.

Jacob was about to take out the Soul Star Watch when Nyx suddenly said, ”Umm, now that itʼs confirmed, Iʼll be entering the Virtual Star World…can you…unn…”

”What is it?” Jacob asked curtly.

With a hint of embarrassment, Nyx said, ”G-give me some spending money!”
