Cursed Immortality

890  New King!

Jacob thoughtfully looked towards the throne hall entrance. Although he had ended the battle quickly, he still wasnʼt able to make it clean, and legendary lords clearly felt the fluctuations from his soul force and Myriad Galaxy Kingʼs struggle.

However, Jacob didnʼt panic and waved his sleeve, and the body of Myriad Galaxy King vanished into his infinity pendant. Since Autarch needed time to absorb the Myriad Galaxy King before starting the evolution, he needed to ensure no one disturbed him.

He then looked at Elia and impassively said, ”What are you doing there?” and he casually sat down on the empty throne of Myriad Galaxy King.

Elia reacted quickly as she instantly got what Jacob was saying, and her eyes shimmered with excitement the next moment; she was already standing beside the throne, wearing a cold expression just like Jacob as she waited for those people.

Although Myriad Galaxy Kingʼs fate has shaken her, she also feels this is the best way to take over this place since no one would dare oppose Jacob anymore. In fact, she has already started to notice that power can make anything happen!

At this moment, three tall men donned in armor entered the throne hall; their physical features were just like the Myriad Galaxy King; they belonged to the Violent Witch Race.

Furthermore, these three were all Tier-6 Legendary Lords of the Myriad Galaxy City and were members of the royal bloodline. There were others as well, but they were all on the front lines, commanding the army and overseeing the war.

But they were all indignant towards the Myriad Galaxy King because he used force and threats to make them fight. However, because of a powerful formation, they werenʼt a match for him, especially within the palace. But they didnʼt know that Myriad Galaxy King had deactivated it long ago to sustain consumption and support the cityʼs barrier.

They were all busy with their task while also planning to try to persuade the King to stop this madness when they suddenly heard the Kingʼs scream before they felt terrifying soul fluctuations of the Myriad Galaxy King and another foreign one, which was even more unfathomable.

The first thing they thought was the Zodiac Beasts were finally taking things seriously and had attacked the king. But the fluctuation only lasted a few moments before everything returned to normal, so they hesitated before coming here.

Furthermore, they wanted to confirm if the Zodiac Beasts had really started to take action since this could mean the cityʼs destruction. But they were flabbergasted when the three peak-level lords saw an unfamiliar figure sitting on the Galaxy Throne and an elf beside him. But their expression grew grim when they noticed the figure was actually a dark being, and the Myriad Galaxy King was nowhere to be seen despite his lingering aura.

However, they all knew that the King would never allow anyone else to sit on his beloved throne, yet this unknown ʼlichʼ was sitting there without any care in the world, and their king had mysteriously vanished.

At this moment, their expression went pale when they thought about the screams and those soul fluctuations, and their eyes widened with horror.

At this moment, a terrifying pressure descended upon them as Jacobʼs eyes were flickering with killing intent, making the three lordsʼ hearts tremble with anxiety, and his pressure was far more terrifying and profound than the Myriad Galaxy King!

”I dealt with your mad king. Now, you can either join him and prove your loyalty to him in the afterlife or earn your lives back by working for me. I know you all were forced to fight without any purpose and wanted to flee this place.

”But let me tell you this: there is no place out there that isnʼt teeming with those things. In fact, this city is the only safe place Iʼve seen; those monsters havenʼt overturned that.

”Work for me and convince the others to do the same for your own survival. If you worked in fear before, now you need to work for survival, and I can give you all that chance since Iʼm in the same boat as you guys.

”Now that this lunatic is dead, you guys donʼt need to be as aggressive on the battlefield; you can just focus on defenses and protecting your own men. I even give you some weapons of mass destruction.

”In return, all I need is your and your menʼs full cooperation and secrecy until this calamity is over. After that, Iʼll return to my home, and you can have your little city back for all I care and divide among yourselves.” Jacob declared without beating around the bush.

Jacobʼs entire purpose in taking over this city was to get himself more familiarized with the legendary plains, increase his crafting techniques, and get a deeper understanding of his prowess, especially the laws.

Although he already had deep comprehension and knowledge about those laws, he knew he needed to work hard to make them his own and also learn to utilize them in different situations.

He also required considerable resources to practice his own skills, and taking over a legendary king-level establishment was the only thing that matched his requirements. The Myriad Galaxy King just happened to be the unlucky one.

Moreover, Elia also needed time to become legendary, and now Autarch as well, so Jacob decided to turn these guys into his pawns and let them keep those zodiac beasts in check while he focused on his own things, and once he was done, he would be really gone just as he promised.

Those legendary lords were clearly shocked before disbelief flashed past in their eyes. Now that Jacob was admitting that he had killed their king, his pressure also made his claims more authentic.

Furthermore, Jacobʼs offer was terrific, and when they heard about the situation outside, their expression grew unsightly, as they were planning on running away.

Moreover, even someone like Jacob was telling them he was here to seek shelter, which made his claim about the danger outside even more realistic. After all, they all could tell he can kill them with a snap of his fingers, thereʼs no need to lie to them.

Jacob was also far stronger, not to mention reasonable, so those three lords really started to consider his offer, especially once Jacob left; the city would be theirs!

The three looked at each other as their eyes shone with profound lights before looking at Jacob, and quickly bowled down to their waists. ”We greet the new King!”
