Lord of the Truth

Chapter 2099 Revenge

What followed that day was a long period of reorganization and a cold, calculating siege.

Both sides began carefully inspecting their losses and redistributing their remaining forces in heavy silence. Damaged fleets were reorganized, surviving commanders reassigned, and defensive formations reinforced. Every participant in that war understood one simple truth: the next battle would not be any less ferocious than the ones that had already shaken the sector.

At the same time, the Big Six did not completely withdraw from the battlefield. Instead, they retreated only to a distance that was considered safe, a position that allowed them to maintain constant observation over the accursed Behemoth while also preserving the option to retreat or reposition at any moment if the situation suddenly shifted.

From that distance, and accompanied by their massive Armadas that exceeded ten thousand fleets, they maintained a tight and suffocating siege. Their fleets formed layers of encirclement that limited every major route of movement, ensuring that the accursed Behemoth could not make any large scale maneuver without being immediately intercepted.

Even though, in truth, they all knew very well that he would not attempt such a reckless movement.

The accursed Behemoth had bled heavily in this war. The cost had been enormous. From the beginning of that disastrous was a few centuries ago until the present moment, he had lost nearly 3,000 fleets. That number alone represented more than half of his original army.

And there was no doubt that he had absolutely no intention of losing any more.

These fleets were not temporary forces that could be replaced overnight. They had been accumulated over hundreds of thousands, sometimes even millions of years. They were not like swords or shields that could be forged in large numbers each year. They were strategic weapons, carefully preserved assets that represented centuries of effort and unimaginable resources.

Now he possessed only 1,700 fleets within the Mid sector 101.

He had a nearly similar number stationed within the Mid sector 102, deeper inside the galaxy. Yet it was clear that he had no intention of involving those forces in this war under any circumstances. If those fleets were exposed and destroyed as well, the consequences for his power and influence would be catastrophic.

He would never allow the remaining fleets here to be reduced to drifting debris in this hostile sector.

During that long, quiet, and almost suffocating period that lasted for several months, the battlefield fell into an uneasy stillness. Both sides waited. Both sides watched.

And everyone understood the same thing.

The accursed Behemoth would attempt anything possible to avoid further losses. He would inevitably try to secure reinforcements in order to extract the remaining forces he still had trapped within the sector.

And if one were to speak of reinforcements, there was no better candidate than the forces of the Savage Behemoth, whose army had remained strangely inactive for quite some time.

Because of that possibility, the Big Six were forced to turn their attention toward the Savage Behemothʼs military base with deep unease in their hearts. The thought that he might suddenly move and strike them from behind was enough to make even beings of their level wary.

After all, only 500 armadas had been stationed there to observe and contain him.

Even worse, there was not a single Guardian among those forces.

It was almost certain that the accursed Behemoth had already contacted the Savage Behemoth to request assistance. No one knew what had been discussed between the two Behemoths. No one could predict what agreements or promises might have been made behind the scenes.

Even if the Savage Behemoth had been cautious because of Lord Robin, could he truly withstand the pressure of the accursed Behemothʼs request, especially when that Behemoth had personally arrived in the sector? ... Yet strangely, nothing happened.

Days passed. Weeks passed. Months slowly drifted by.

And the Savage Behemothʼs military base remained completely still.

Not a single ship departed. Not a single commander emerged. Not one soldier moved to reinforce the accursed Behemoth.

Thus, after several months of tense silence, careful recovery, and countless attempts to find a solution to his increasingly dangerous predicament, the accursed Behemoth finally made his move.

But the move he chose was not what anyone expected.

Instead of assigning the 1,700 armadas to charge forward and break the siege while he remained behind with the first row scions as a final safeguard, he personally stepped forward onto the battlefield.

He advanced himself.

Accompanied by forty Royal Soul Masters and Law Dominators, he launched a direct assault against the alliance forces.

Their target was clear from the beginning.

They aimed to break through the encirclement in the direction of the borders of the Mid sector 102.

Their goal was simple and brutally direct: escape the trap of the Mid sector 101 as quickly as possible.

But the Big Six had absolutely no intention of allowing such a thing to happen.

The depth of hostility and hatred that had grown between the accursed Behemoth and the forces of the Mid sector 101 had long surpassed the point where a simple withdrawal could resolve the conflict.

At the beginning of the war, their objective might have been merely to expel the accursed forces from their territory and claim a symbolic victory.

But things had gone far beyond that now.

After reaching this point... the point of no return... their objective had changed completely.

They no longer sought a symbolic triumph.

They intended to destroy every remaining fleet under the accursed Behemothʼs command and leave him crippled for a very long time.

And so, under the silent gaze of the universe that had already been shaken by the earlier battles...

A new battle began.

The accursed Behemoth moved with all his remaining forces to strike one side of the siege, concentrating the bulk of his army into a single devastating thrust meant to tear open a gap in the encirclement. But the moment his fleets surged forward, the other sides of the siege reacted immediately. The surrounding forces closed in from behind like tightening jaws, sealing the path of retreat while thousands of cannons began exchanging relentless fire. This time, the battle did not remain confined to fleets alone.

Every World Cataclysm and Nexus State expert who had been gathered from the countless powers of the sector descended from their vessels. Millions of World Cataclysms and tens of thousands of Nexus State cultivators poured onto the battlefield together, their auras colliding and surging like violent. storms across the void.

It was a terrifying sight.

Not a single one of them was truly enthusiastic about the idea of standing face to face against a Behemoth. The mere thought of confronting such a being filled even veteran warriors with instinctive dread.

But the orders had been given.

And so everyone moved forward anyway.

That day the battlefield turned into a place where wreckage and blood became indistinguishable from one another. Ships shattered, bodies fell, and the void itself trembled under the scale of the conflict.

Yet in the end, the day concluded as every other brutal day of war eventually does.

The accursed Behemoth used hidden cards that no one had anticipated and managed to force open the siege. Through sheer ferocity he created a narrow path and smuggled the remaining fragments of his army out through it.

But the price was enormous.

By the end of the battle, the number of armadas under his command had fallen to only one thousand.

The number of World Cataclysms and Nexus State fighters that followed him had dropped to less than a quarter of their original strength.

Five Royal Soul Masters with seven stars or more suffered extremely severe injuries that would take time to recover from. The remaining high level experts were not spared either, every single one of them bearing wounds of varying severity while exhaustion clung to them like a shadow.

On the other side, the alliance also paid dearly.

Three thousand fleets were destroyed in the clash. Alongside them, tens of thousands of World Cataclysms and more than a thousand Nexus State experts perished in the chaotic fighting.

Another one of the Big Six suffered severe injuries despite remaining in the rear lines throughout the battle, while six of Kaylisʼ sons were also wounded during the confrontation.

It was a world shaking battle in every sense of the word.

A battle so immense that numbers themselves seemed to lose meaning.

And yet, despite the staggering losses on all sides, the clash once again reminded the entire universe of a simple and terrifying truth: the presence of a Behemoth on the battlefield could still bend the course of war.

But the conflict was far from finished.

The accursed Behemoth could not bring his followers into the Mid sector 102 as he had originally planned.

The fleets that remained under his command had been pushed beyond their limits. Many of the ships had lost their Pearls and could no longer fire their cannons with the intensity required for prolonged combat. Worse still, during the enormous battle they had consumed their reserves of liquid energy cores as emergency fuel for their artillery systems.

Without those energy cores, the ships no longer possessed the necessary power to cross the vast boundary between the Mid sector 101 and the Mid sector 102.

If he forced them to attempt the crossing in their current state, the fleets would stall in the endless void halfway through the journey.

And once that happened, the result would be obvious.

Everyone would die.

So the question arose.

What was the solution?

The answer came quickly. Attack the Bright Galaxy once again.

That galaxy lay almost exactly halfway between the location of the battle and the distant border of the sector. If there was any place nearby that could provide the supplies needed to keep the remaining army alive, it was there. And more importantly, the galaxy had become dangerously vulnerable. There were no longer any significant defensive forces stationed there.

Orion, Serene, and the other defenders had already departed months earlier to fight side by side with the Six Great Ones on the front lines of the war.

At least, that was the reasoning the accursed Behemoth Darvion presented to justify the decision.

Was there another motive hidden behind his words?

A motive fueled by anger, humiliation, and vengeance?

Perhaps.

But by that point, no one cared.

The decision had been made, and the wheels of war had already begun turning.

On that day, the accursed Behemoth advanced alone toward the galaxy.

His men and his sons watched from behind as he drew out his fifth grade planetary weapon, its terrifying power radiating through the void. They watched as he opened vast soul gates, allowing his soul creatures to emerge one after another like shadows pouring from another realm.

They watched as he deployed the cursed arrays he had personally crafted for his own use.

The arrays spread outward across space, releasing a foul and oppressive aura that clung to everything nearby. A nauseating stench followed it, a smell like that of trillions of rotting corpses left to decay for ages.

The arrays fed power into his soul creatures.

They fed power into the planetary weapon.

And then they saw him surge forward.

Surrounded by his soul creatures and cloaked in that horrifying energy, the accursed Behemoth charged directly toward the galaxy, opening a path for the battered remnants of his army to follow behind him.

At that moment, everyone watching understood the truth.

The accursed Behemoth had not come merely to gather supplies.

He had come to destroy.

He had come for revenge.

Yet the breathtaking and chilling spectacle did not end the way anyone expected.

Suddenly, the planets within the galaxy began to move.

Massive celestial bodies drifted violently out of their natural orbits and hurled themselves toward the Behemothʼs cursed arrays. One after another, they smashed into the arrays and shattered them completely.

Then the planets turned their momentum toward his soul creatures.

And toward him personally. Who had ever seen a planet explode?

On that day, the soldiers of the accursed Behemoth witnessed something they would never forget for the rest of their lives.

More than one hundred planets detonated one after another above the head of their Behemoth, their colossal explosions turning entire regions of space into storms of fire and debris.

And in that moment, every single one of them remembered something important.

Kaylis was still inside the galaxy.
