Lord of the Truth

Chapter 2073 Universal interests

Soul Society - Chamber of Truth

Dozens of soul avatars who had gathered to witness the announcement stared wide-eyed, their expressions frozen in shock, their mouths slowly opening as if they were about to dry up the waters of the sea itself, unable to comprehend what they had just heard. ”What-” ”H-his friend? A benefactor for the good of the universe? The head of the cosmic academies?” The young man whose hair covered his eyes began to walk slowly toward the recording of the Cosmic Elder, each step heavy. ”...All of this about one of us? A Truth Chosen who reached such a position, such influence, and such authority?!” ”Impossible!” The spiky-haired one slammed the wall behind him with brutal force. ”This recording is fabricated!” Then he pointed at Zolan. ”That metal-faced bastard paid a massive bribe from his fortune to elevate himself with these lies and false titles!” ”Haha, even if Lord Human were lying, do you think Soul Society would dare to lie through the words of the Cosmic Elder?” A Truth Chosen clutched his stomach and began laughing loudly, then looked at the recording with clear pride and admiration. ”He really did it. One of us took the step, crossed the line, and stood among the real masters themselves!” ”....!!” The spiky-haired one wanted to respond but couldnʼt. He took one last look at the recording, his anger collapsing into exhaustion, then closed his eyes and sat down in his place. His legs could no longer carry him, and his body felt heavier than stone. ”...” The young man with the hair covering his eyes looked as if he had heard nothing at all. He was only clenching his hand tightly, his fingers digging into his palm. He had made a decision at that moment, a silent and irreversible one.

Baaam

Kaylis opened her eyes and slammed both hands onto the armrest of the throne, shattering it for the fifth time this week, fragments scattering across the chamber floor.

She had received a message through Soul Society from Lord Human. At last, that bastard had replied after all these years of silence, but not with what she wanted, not with what she needed. He did not say he would accelerate the situation or send support. He did not promise reinforcements or protection. He simply told her to continue the fighting and wait for the right time.

The right time?

When would that be? How long was she supposed to wait?

She had recently destroyed thirty additional planets in her galaxy, entire worlds erased, and three of her children had suffered severe injuries in their battles against Lord Damir, injuries that nearly cost them their lives! ”Robin... Burton...” Kaylisʼs eyes began to tremble violently. ”Did I trap myself with a fraud? What did I gain from agreeing to his offer, from trusting his words and promises?” She ground her teeth hard, rage burning in her chest. ”Is it possible heʼs trying to have me and Darvion destroy each other, weaken each other, so he can come in the end and wipe us all out?”

Then she raised her head with a hateful glare, her voice heavy with venom. ”Robin Burton... are you trying to fish in muddy waters? You want my possessions, my empire, without bleeding for them?!” ”Mother, youʼre awake?!”

At that moment, a girl entered, wearing clothes of mature taste and refined design, though it was clear she was in no stable condition at all, her movements tense and hurried. ”Werenʼt you listening to the Cosmic Elderʼs broadcast? We thought you were listening to it in Soul Society, so we didnʼt want to disturb you or interrupt you!” ”The Cosmic Elder is broadcasting something?” Kaylis immediately forgot her personal troubles, her anger shifting into sharp focus. ”Play it, quickly!!”

That being never spoke, and if he did, every single word would be enough to shake the entire universe to its foundations.

Would it affect her personally, in the middle of this chaos and war? Unlikely, but maybe.

Perhaps he would order all the Behemoths to stop fighting, or gather an army to fight the Plague, or issue a decree that would change the balance of power.

Anything that being said, any word from that entity, could help. ”.......” Kaylisʼs expression vanished completely. ”Hah?!?!”

Poof

The Sorcerer Behemoth Zargul dropped into his seat as if his strength had been drained from him, his mouth hanging open in pure disbelief, his body frozen for several seconds. ”No... no no no, something is wrong! Something is seriously wrong!”

A friend of the Cosmic Elder?

A benefactor and the leader of the Cosmic Academies?

And he is currently at war with that person?!

His thoughts spiraled into chaos.

He had opened the recording expecting to hear the Cosmic Elder announce the killing of mature space beasts, or perhaps calm the masses about the Plagueʼs attacks, or deliver some stabilizing message to the universe.

But instead, what he heard felt like a death sentence descending directly upon his head.

Not a warning.

Not a threat.

A verdict.

How in the hell was he supposed to continue that war now?

How could he raise his armies, mobilize his forces, and continue fighting someone who stood as the close friend of the Cosmic Elder himself?

Fight for what end?

For what purpose?

Toward what future?

Zargulʼs lips twitched, and a strange sound escaped his throat. ”Oooh?”

In a chamber... no, it did not look like a chamber at all.

It felt more like a fragment of the universe itself.

Stars, planets, and nebulae drifted slowly through the vast space around it, moving in silent, majestic orbits. One could feel the heat of passing meteors, almost sense their burning trails, and at the same time nearly touch frozen asteroids suspended in cold stillness.

And yet, within this cosmic chaos, there was a throne... and a door.

A dark throne, massive beyond reason, as if it had been carved for an ancient monster that ruled before history itself.

But seated upon it was a human... a human with the aura of an ancient beast.

He looked to be in his forties. His skin was slightly dark, his eyebrows black and sharp like blades forged for war. His hair shifted between gray and black, meticulously styled in a way that displayed both power and authority, discipline and dominance.

His gaze was extremely sharp, as if it could pierce through entire sectors, through galaxies and star systems alike. His jaw and cheekbones were prominent, his chin strong and defined, giving him an exceptional, commanding handsomeness for a middle-aged human.

His clothes were black and white, dark-toned, lightly embroidered, elegant yet intimidating, and the quality of every single piece was unmistakably high, crafted for a ruler, not a noble.

At the center of his forehead was a glowing mark, like a star-shaped scar, radiating a faint but constant light. Yet even that large, luminous scar failed to draw attention away from the rest of his overwhelming presence.

With a single glance, anyone would form the same impression, without hesitation, without doubt:

That man was born to rule.

That person, the Tyrant Intiras, looked at the Cosmic Elderʼs recording with sharp, calculating eyes and a piercing, cold smile. ”I never did and never will interfere in his personal affairs, huh?” he said slowly, his voice calm but heavy with meaning. ”How interesting... truly interesting.”
