Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 695: Arriving in Los Angeles Again, Meeting Ban Zheyu Again

United States, Los Angeles.

At the airport exit, as Xiao He and his group just came out, they encountered someone who had come specifically to greet them.

”Brother Xiao, Brother Xiao, over here!”

The young man waved a sign with one hand while waving his other hand in the air, his face filled with excitement.

Xiao He followed the sound and locked eyes with Ban Zheyu.

”Ah, how come youʼre here too?”

Xiao He walked over with some surprise.

Ban Zheyu was the kid heʼd met while filming ”Fast Speed Shadow 7.”

Back then, Ban Zheyu had been targeted by a serial killer, and Xiao He had stepped in to save him, preventing him from dying in that horrific murder.

Because of that, Ban Zheyu, like his sister, had become one of Xiao Heʼs Little Box fans.
”Hehe, isnʼt your production team about to start promoting soon? Donʼt forget what my second uncle does!”

Ban Zheyu said proudly.

Xiao He had met Ban Zheyuʼs second uncle before—he was Ban Heng, the General Manager of the Operations Department for the international branch of Fule Company.

Just like in China, the foreign version of the short-video platform had become an important battleground for promoting film and television works.

And ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” was no exception. Targeting this promotional channel, they had already signed a cooperation deal with the platform during the early promotion period.

So Ban Zheyu could find out a bit about Xiao Heʼs upcoming overseas schedule from his second uncle.

Incidentally, because of what Xiao He had done to save Ban Zheyu, Ban Zheyuʼs family had always been grateful to Xiao He, so within the scope of their authority, they had given Xiao He the maximum level of heat and stream push.

Thus, even though Xiao He hadnʼt gone abroad for any related promotional activities since ”No Bait” to boost his overseas fame, his name recognition among young people abroad had not diminished at all.

Many foreign fans also noticed that videos related to Xiao He were getting excellent traffic on foreign sites, so they happily reposted Xiao Heʼs domestic news and videos, attracting foreign fans to watch and like them. This successfully created a harmonious balance with the foreign traffic push.

Later on, many of Xiao Heʼs released works received extremely high levels of attention. In particular, his characters Yin Qi and the White-haired Hacker were incredibly popular abroad, with a massive amount of fan-made edits and secondary creations being produced. This even benefited the comics ”Corner Also” and ”The Phantom Thief Alliance 2.” Especially for the official merchandise figurines from ”Corner Also” Season Two, the chibi versions of Yin Qi were snatched up like crazy, with a level of frenzy no less than the domestic fans.

This was all thanks to the Ban familyʼs support.

And in this wave of fandom, one other person had also benefited—”Xiao Zhao the Roamer.”

As Xiao Heʼs ”lifetime talent scout” and ”editor-in-chief of millions of views,” Xiao Zhao the Roamer had successfully stepped onto the international stage.

And Linghui Entertainment was backing her up from behind!

This was all thanks to Operations Xiao Zhouʼs efforts.

While managing the overseas accounts, he discovered that someone was reposting Xiao Zhao the Roamerʼs videos and gaining huge popularity abroad.

Although these were also promotional videos that allowed more people to see Xiao He, which from a fanʼs perspective was a good thing, from a creatorʼs perspective, this was outright stealing the fruits of labor and killing the creatorʼs enthusiasm—absolutely disgusting.

Moreover, Xiao Zhao the Roamer was truly one of Xiao Heʼs heavyweight fans. On Bilibili, her support for Xiao He was at a level that could warrant her own separate chapter in the Little Box fan history book.

So after reporting it, Linghui Entertainment decisively stepped in. They worked with Ban Zheyuʼs second uncle, Ban Heng, to thoroughly clean up this reposting situation, then coordinated with Xiao Zhao the Roamerʼs new overseas account ”xiaozhao666” to redirect traffic and promote her content.

Thus, Xiao Zhao the Roamer was successfully taken in as half a member of Linghuiʼs team and gained a fresh wave of fans and attention overseas.

She probably never imagined sheʼd become popular abroad too.

Well, it was all thanks to her idol taking her international.

Pretty sweet, huh.

-

In short, because of his connection with Ban Zheyu, Xiao Heʼs name recognition and popularity abroad were quite solid. Ever since ”No Bait” blew up, he had maintained a very good status.

Seeing Ban Zheyu personally come to pick him up this time, Xiao He naturally had to express his surprise and gratitude: ”Thanks for the trouble! Sorry to make you come all this way.”

Liu Rulan, pushing the suitcases beside him, also gave Ban Zheyu a friendly smile: ”I was planning to visit General Manager Ban in person with Xiao He after the events here. The overseas promotional heat has really been thanks to you guys.”

”Hehe, no worries, no worries, itʼs all small stuff! Brother Xiao is my lifesaver. No way weʼd let Brother Xiao get the short end of the stick!”

Ban Zheyu scratched his head and laughed sheepishly. ”Too bad I couldnʼt make it to Brother Xiaoʼs offline events when I went back to China for the Spring Festival. But my sister and I both watched ʼLet the Mistake Slideʼ! It was amazing! Brother Xiao, if you release this overseas, itʼll blow up again for sure!”

The group chatted as they walked out. Xiao He listened as Ban Zheyu brought up the serial killer case from last time.

When he heard the case was still in the trial phase, Xiao He was both surprised and not surprised.

Given the current chaotic situation, getting the case to the trial stage at this point was already pretty efficient, a result of the Ban familyʼs efforts.

”My second uncle said the final outcome will probably just be life in prison.”

When he said this, Ban Zheyu curled his lips in displeasure.

After all, he had almost died back then! And the guy already had multiple murders on his record.

No death sentence—it was really infuriating.

Xiao He sighed, unsure how to comment on this matter. The topics it touched on were way too many.

In the end, it was Liu Rulan who changed the subject: ”Is there anything you need Xiao He to sign this time? Heʼs mainly here to rush through schedules, so he might not stay long. If he ends up busy later, you can have him sign for you now.”

”Oh, oh, okay!”

Ban Zheyu, sure enough, put the other matter out of his mind and quickly pulled out the fan merchandise he had prepared: ”Brother Xiao, Brother Xiao, my sister prepared this! I want one too!”

”OK, no problem.”

Xiao He very skillfully signed for Ban Zheyu, then even took a selfie with Ban Zheyuʼs Polaroid camera for a special airport OOTD.

OOTD: Outfit of the day.

Finally, before getting in the car, Xiao He casually asked, ”Not coming with us? We can drop you off directly.”

”No, no, I brought my own driver. He came specifically to pick me up. I wonʼt hold up Brother Xiaoʼs schedule.”

Ban Zheyu quickly waved his hand. But as he was packing things away, he leaned by the car window and whispered to Xiao He, ”Oh, right, Brother Xiao. My second uncle asked me to remind you that there have been a lot of strike protests around here lately. The security is way worse than last time you were here. Try to be careful during your events this time.”

Last time, Xiao He had wandered out of the hotel alone after an event and ran into Ban Zheyu by chance, saving his life.

Ban Heng was worried Xiao He would do the same thing again and run into danger.

Xiao He listened and smiled, nodding to Ban Zheyu in thanks: ”Thanks for the reminder. Got it. Iʼll be careful. I wonʼt wander around.”

They were already planning to wrap things up quickly this time. They definitely didnʼt want to get mixed up in any complicated messes.
