Help all mankind

Chapter 6
A strange thing happened the next day. Several employees’ wakefulness improved, which proved that their sleep quality had improved, which was a surprise for Liang Shicheng.

Early in the morning, Liang Shicheng had planned to continue to observe the changes of employees’ blood glucose levels.

However, it was unexpectedly found that several employees were much more sober than yesterday. He took out his notebook and checked it carefully. After confirming this, he began to find the reason, but he didn’t seem to make any efforts on this issue.

But these people Liang Shicheng is impressed, because it happened that these people chose to stay in the company to work overtime yesterday.

At present, it is known that the wakefulness is determined by sleep. These people who stay to work overtime have improved their wakefulness. There should be other reasons.

Besides, there are always people who stay to work overtime, but the unexpected improvement of consciousness only happened this morning.

An idea immediately appeared in Liang Shicheng’s mind. Does it have anything to do with yesterday’s dinner······

In other words, the value of blood glucose can also affect the quality of sleep.

Liang Shicheng turned on the computer and began to study this problem. This time he didn’t check those keywords, but began to verify an idea of his own.

After this period of study and understanding, Liang Shicheng understood some knowledge, or tutored some knowledge he already knew.

The brain’s demand for blood glucose is different from that of the body. The body consumes extra blood glucose during high-intensity labor, while the demand is very low during rest. There are great differences in energy consumption under different states.

But the brain is not like this. The brain always consumes a lot of energy and doesn’t stop for a moment.

The brain is a very energy consuming organ. It consumes 20% of the energy of the whole body with 2% of the weight of the whole body.

Many people don’t exercise and eat a lot all year round, but they don’t gain weight and accumulate fat. This is because the brain consumes most of its energy.

The key is that people’s brain does not rest when they sleep. They are still working at a high speed. Even when they sleep, their brain is more active and consumes more energy.

In this process, the brain should sort out the memory during the day and remove the toxins accumulated in the brain, which is no easier for brain cells than the focused work during the day. These work are very necessary and consume energy. The working efficiency of the brain at night determines the sleep quality.

At night, brain cells get a stable and sufficient blood glucose supply, so as to ensure that the brain is awake during the day.

Therefore, the brain also needs a stable blood glucose supply when sleeping, but people can’t eat for more than ten hours at night.

Although the stomach needs to rest at night, the small intestine, which is responsible for absorbing nutrients, is working all day.

So Liang Shicheng realized that for his employees, in order to improve the attribute of alertness, the demand for food with low glycemic index for dinner is more urgent, and it also has to be food with high calorie and low glycemic index.

In addition, he promised to provide snacks and afternoon tea to the employees yesterday. Liang Shicheng is ready to implement these two things together.

First of all, the employees’ lunch freedom was restored. Breakfast and lunch were still solved by themselves, but a ”afternoon tea time” was installed every 2 hours in the morning and afternoon, which was only 5 minutes, and Liang Shicheng provided snacks according to everyone’s taste.

At the same time, it also provides employees with a variety of drinks, including coke and milk tea with sugar. It is stipulated that it is not allowed to drink it all at once, but only one sip at a time.

Finally, in exchange, everyone’s dinner is eaten in the company without complaint.

When it was time to get off work that night, Liang Shicheng’s leader stopped him. At first, he was in a panic. When he looked back, he saw that several people around the leader shouted to him, ”we’re going to go to a restaurant together today.”

Everyone laughed along the way. It seemed that the leader hadn’t noticed his misdeeds in the unit, and Liang Shicheng’s heart fell down.

At the dinner table, the crowd began to persuade Liang Shicheng to drink. Liang Shicheng thought for a while and then refused,

”I can’t sleep these days. I’d better stop drinking.”

My friend still refused to give up. ”Hey, take a breath. If you’re drunk, you’ll naturally sleep.”

Drinking does not improve the quality of sleep. Although it can make people dizzy and conducive to falling asleep, falling asleep and sleep quality are two different things.

At night, the brain doesn’t rest. It has more important work. If the brain faints because of alcohol and reduces work efficiency, the quality of sleep will decline.

Therefore, alcoholics will have a deep sleep, but find that they seem to be sleepy without much sleep.

Finally, the leader took the initiative to step down, ”President Liang, keep your brain awake in the program department every day, so don’t advise.”

So Liang Shicheng escaped. He didn’t dare to report to the company about his short-term hospitalization. He insisted on working until his current state. His sleep quality and mental state were not good, so he couldn’t make any mistakes.

After returning home, lying in his seat, Liang Shicheng is still thinking about how to continue to improve the soberness attribute of employees. Since dinner has a great impact on sleep quality, there should be a lot of room for improvement. He can’t just buy some vegetables and miscellaneous grains like last time.

Don’t eat too little or too full for dinner. Otherwise, if your stomach hasn’t digested before you go to sleep, it’s not worth the loss if your stomach is swollen and it’s difficult to sleep. At the same time, consider that the type of food can’t lead to flatulence.

When the stomach goes to sleep, it needs to rest, and the small intestine can continue to work.

The function of the stomach is to digest and decompose food. The task of the small intestine is to absorb food and release it into the blood.

Vegetables are not a suitable choice. The main component of vegetables is water, which can provide limited energy. Although the absorption is slow, it will still make people hungry at night, and the digestive burden on the stomach is not small.

Finally, he chose such a combination, buckwheat flour, fried bean paste balls, lobster... Maybe this can also alleviate their complaints.

He decided on his ultimate dinner temporarily. Another thing soon attracted Liang Shicheng’s attention, that is, the importance of taking a nap.

Through previous knowledge, we can understand why the cost performance of nap is so high. The effect of a 30 minute nap is much better than an extra 30 minutes at night.

Even if you delay more things at night and sleep less for several hours, a short nap can make up for it.

Moreover, naps in other periods of time do not have such good results.

The reason is very simple. The afternoon nap happens to be carried out during the period when the blood sugar content is very high after lunch, while sleeping at night is mostly fasting.

Therefore, the sleep efficiency is much higher when the energy supply is sufficient.

Remembering that there are not many employees taking naps on weekdays, Liang Shicheng is ready to change this situation.

So at noon the next day, Liang Shicheng announced a new policy,

”Everyone must take a 30 minute nap. As compensation, I will try to make the mandatory dinner more delicious and rich.”

At this time, a short girl raised her hand to protest. She was Liang Shicheng’s good friend before his promotion and nicknamed little girl.

It seems that things are not so smooth.
